It's a thin, forgettable little thing, cheap in price yet offering little more than 30 minutes of one-note gameplay for your virtual money.

Ouch. Kinda harsh, but kind true, too... I can't help but be surprised that they would call "Bringing Down the Sky", "the flimsy DLC for the original Mass Effect". Flimsy? RtO had barely an hour of gameplay, whereas BDtS had, well... a lot more!! (I remember dieing in the mine field quite a few times, and that final boss fight was real though, especially on Insanity setting). I resent that comparison... <_<

Yeah, I wouldn't make that comparison myself, as BDtS was free for PC ME1 players.

I find myself areeing with Eurogamer's review. It was disappointing, it was pure hack-and-slash, and it did just seem like another way to get players to shell out $5 for a new set of armor.

Keep in mind that I absolutely loved DA:O. I haven't seen an RPG like that in forever. But RtO was kind of like my millionth Diablo run: no surprises, and no real opportunity to RP.

Yep, agreed again. I think they should've brought Gaider on that one(he wasn't on RtO team). Maybe then it'd suck less.

I have a feeling that RtO was a side (read: test) project at any given time - especially after it got delayed.

Another negative RtO review, this time from Game Revolution.

All told, there's not much to recommend in this DLC. The loot isn't game-changing, the plot is bare-bones, and the story-building basically nonexistent. Unless you absolutely need to possess Cailan's sweet golden shoulderpads, stop your plans to Return to Ostagar and turn straight back.

RtO is due out for PS3 on March 11th, so any PS3 players will have a chance to play RtO before Awakening.

I haven't bought RtO myself yet, although I obviously could have, being on PC. I may buy it before Awakening is released though, despite the negative reviews.

For the record I didn't think it was all that bad, but it could definitely have been better. At least the gear you get from Ostagar now carries over to Awakenings (I can picture some poor coders were working a weekend to get that fixed) but it's pretty obvious that's because EA wants more people to download RtO.
RtO is much better with the Secret Companion in party than it is with Alistair. It's a bit boring with Al.

Since I decided to buy Return to Ostagar, I guess I'll have to go with Alistair because the Secret Companion bought it in my playthrough. I guess I'll bring Leliana (I assume there will be locked chests?) and Wynne along as well.
