I don't see it.

The BWS hasn't extracted any of the files yet, so command it to do so... with continue... la la la laa laa.

How will i do it since i am already running it and in the download process? Also, do i unzip the volcano and others missing when i put them in the game folder to use this .bat?

Is it possible, once the install is complete and everything is biffed and cleaned up, for the entire BG2 directory to just be transferred to other comps and/or burned onto DVDs and played straight from the folder without actually being installed?

Yep, since the BWP-modded game doesn't require the CD, it's only a matter of copying the entire folder to THE SAME PATH where it is on the original PC (otherwise, you may need to edit the paths under the [Alias] section of the baldur.ini) :P

Why didn't you just point into here#7?
You made me feel lonely... :crying:

@quinlan: A 5 MB pic!!! :o (not everyone's on 1 Mbps ya know ;))

Anyway, after it downloads everything, it WILL extract them all :D so wait for it ...

Oups! I didn't think of it. I have to resize them from now on.

Well, you need to do it after you have downloaded everything. ^_^

Also, do i unzip the volcano and others missing when i put them in the game folder to use this .bat?

You do this after the BWS has done everything(downloaded, and extracted the files, it also should start the 'BiG World Install.bat'). The BiG World Install.bat will also recheck the mods to be installed after you give it a language and asks if you wish to recheck the files... it can be quited during that time with the red X at the top of the black window(cmd.exe window). You just unzip the mod file to the game folder from their mod archives... and then rerun the BiG World Install.bat...

All right, will wait.

Why do you think the problems exist for some of the links BWP searches for its downloads? Can they be fixed, or is it a function of the sites it downloads from and some times they will work while other times not?

Well, the list is constantly been updated... it's in internet, so the servers can CHEESE things... the process can take hours so you can have bad brakes etc.

I see. Well, whatever the troubles, i think this new try of mine at the game - if and when it is ready to be played - will be one smooth ride. Last time i tried a mega mod was 2 years ago and it was chaos! People really put A LOT of effort since then!

After the 2nd download process, the confirmatory one i believe, i get this:

The following mod(s) could not be downloaded:
Improved Volcano! (Pack for ToB) v2.0: The Mod itself (Volcano_Pack.zip)

Some files cannot be downloaded with the "BiG World Setup".
Do you want to try to load the mods again or open the links in your default-browser to try it yourself?
Enter [y]es, [r]etry or [n]o.
The Installation should be able to run properly.
Missing mods, which were needed, can ruin the installation.
Check if you need the mods, which you could not downloaded.
For safety reasons, the mods will be removed from the install-list and will be ignored from now on.
Enter [r]emove missing mods or [c]ancel.

How do i proceed? Only Volcano! seems to be the problem. Do i [r] and put it as you told me before, or [c]? What will [c] do?

So, i tried reinstalling the Widescreen mod over the installation and it totally looks like it's screwed some stuff up :P There were errors popping up all over the place in the CMD window :D Looks like I'll be reinstalling! Quick question though.

Since I'm trying to get multiple identical installs, to be played on different computers (with different monitors and desired play resolutions), would it work better to:

1) do the BiG World Setup without the Widescreen mod, and then just install the Widescreen mod on each computer as the very last thing done before playing? Would that work?

OR

2) would I have to do the BiG World Setup without both the Widescreen mod AND General Biffing, then after distributing each install and getting them set up on the different computers, getting the owners to install the Widescreen mod and then General Biffing afterwards?

Thanks so much for all the help!

Dael

P.S. I'm getting this game going with friends that have all played and own the BG series, we're just wanting a little nostalgic multiplayer action with a Mega Modded game, just in case anyone was concerned about copyright issues or anything :)

The best way to set identical set ups is to down load on one computer then copy the entire folder onto a portable drive. Copy the folder from the portable to the other dirve. Edit the baldur.ini file to set the drive paths. Start the game using the BGmain rather then BG.exe. At least it should work in theory.

Well, sorry it didn't work out  Goodluck on the reinstall :coolthumb:

do the BiG World Setup without the Widescreen mod, and then just install the Widescreen mod on each computer as the very last thing done before playing? Would that work?

Well, this would save you guys a LOTTA time but it could lead to laggy gameplay if too many files get copied to the override by widescreen.

would I have to do the BiG World Setup without both the Widescreen mod AND General Biffing, then after distributing each install and getting them set up on the different computers, getting the owners to install the Widescreen mod and then General Biffing afterwards?

This would ensure lagfree (starting) gameplay, but will take a HELL LOTTA time depending on each guy's system...

So, it's just a matter of TIME v/s LAG :D

(btw, lag =/= net lag, this kinda lag is created when the game tries to search for a particular Kobold creature file (example ;)) in a BWP install containing over 1000000000+ creatures :D)

Cheers,
Lol

Installed Tactical version. Might have taken water over my head, as i can't rest in Irenicus dungeon without duergars spawning constantly.

Well, I've noticed that if you rest in some special rooms (the central "Otylukh" room for instance), there don't seem to be spawns (maybe just coincidence though :P)

I take it some mod tries to simulate patrolling duergar through the passages :P (use your imagination )

^ Good catch :D

Anyway, since Rupert the Dye Merchant hasn't been updated yet, could the Fixpack incorporate both of these fixes from Miloch?? :P

And, there's also a script booboo with Zannaster from CtB, and was this issue fixed??

PS: This really made me lol :D From the BWP Guide 8.2:

Exnem's Addon = Exnem Vault v5
~SETUP-EXNEM.TP2~
This Mod contains 21 new spells and 88 new items plus edited monsters and areas.
The mod includes items from Final Fantasy, Lord of the Rings and who knows what else, nevermind the fact that they are overpowered beyond imbalanced and the fact that it also potentially overwrites your random treasure table.

Atleast it's in expert now :P
Cheers,
Lol

I found a bug in ToB Revisited too, when used in combination with Longest Road it breaks the game. It also has problems with Wheels of Prophecy. The error is in the file wgellelr.d and wgellewp.d , APPEND WGELLE is used instead of APPEND "WGELLE" this stops the append working and hence prevents you leaving the Grove unless you manually set the IllaseraSpawn Global.

We updated the BW Fixpack:

BiG World Fixpack v8.2.4
  • Corrected the "Wheels of Prophecy" fix
The "Charli NPC" installation problem will be solved in the mod itself in the next days.
We are still looking into the other mentioned installation problems (like the Kelsey one). These are caused by the .ids files and White Agnus will try to fix them soon.

@ Lollorian
Thanks for the links. We'll check them. ;)

@ Kalanyr
It comes to none problems with LR and WoP, because APPEND WGELLE and APPEND "WGELLE" are the same and it is not needed that it gets the "".

Greetings Leomar

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.
