We uploaded an Update-Package for the BWS. If you start the BWS it gets everytime the recent Update-Package automatically.

8.2.1 (Update Package)
Updated: Spanish translation (Translation-SP.ini)
Fixed: AddDown-entries for the linkupdates (11_NET.au3)
Fixed: Quallo detection (Chapter.ini and Mod.ini)

@ Lollorian

Would the BWP Installpack be updated to (beta) if some new mod version changes component numbers or something (points to the SCS mods )

Yes and no.
If a mod changes the numbers of existing components, then yes, because the components are normally the same as before.
But introduces a mod new components, then no, because their are not tested and the update for these cases happens only with a BWP full release.

And the shown errors of flinx could be caused by the wrong BioWare patch or Win7. We should see if the errors will shown up again.

@ Sanity

BWIntall bat is telling me that the Undying mod is not in the directory when it is.

All is fine then. Only the Install.bat shows it wrongly. The mod will be installed correctly. We fix the Undying detection with the next "BW Installpack" update.

We uploaded a new Update-Package for the BWS. If you start the BWS it gets everytime the recent Update-Package automatically.

So this isn't downloadable separately, but the BWS will download it from somewhere?

Also, the PDF says:

8. [After installing] the BioWare BG1 Patch some BG1 files are deleted. In order to repair this again, you need to download after patching the "BG1 MISSING files" and unpack them in the BG1 main directory.

So where are these, or are they included in the BWFixpack or something? If so, the PDF could be a little clearer on what is automated and what you need to do manually.

Any word on converting the PDF to HTML yet? If your source file is a Word document, you can do this automatically from Word (Save as... or Export to HTML). It doesn't always produce the cleanest HTML code, but it should be easier to navigate than a PDF anyway. Alternately, you can create a PDF with Bookmarks, though HTML would still be better.

We updated the BW Fixpack twice, yesterday:

BiG World Fixpack v8.2.2
  • Added a patch for Exnem's Vault by White Agnus
  • Changed the patch for BG1UB (only the change for Shilo Chen is used, the other fix is already included in the mod)
  • Removed fixes for Munchmod, because their are included in the mod
BiG World Fixpack v8.2.3
  • Added TethyrForestPatch by Hoppy and White Agnus
  • Small corrections for the BW Fixpack
Additional we updated the BW Installpack:

BiG World Installpack v8.2.1
  • The Install.bat uses the new TethyrForestPatch from the BW Fixpack and installs it if CtB will be installed
  • The new Spanish translations for "Planar Sphere" and "The Bigg Questpack" of the Spanish BW Textpack will be installed, now
  • The new setup-name of TheUndying is now recognized by the Install.bat
  • The BGT component of Wildmage Additions will be installed in each BWP-version, now
  • Small corrections
You don't need to download the new updated BWP-tools separately. If you start the "BiG World Setup", its will use the recent versions always.

@ Miloch

So this isn't downloadable separately, but the BWS will download it from somewhere?

Yes, it is an automatic process of the BWS and its get the Update-Package from our German forum. So you need only to start the BWS and the update will happen.

8. [After installing] the BioWare BG1 Patch some BG1 files are deleted. In order to repair this again, you need to download after patching the "BG1 MISSING files" and unpack them in the BG1 main directory.

So where are these, or are they included in the BWFixpack or something?

All right, we'll made it clearer in the guide. The BWS checks, if your BG1 version is missing these files and if yes, then it will download and extract it for you correctly.

Any word on converting the PDF to HTML yet?

Not at the moment. We are thinking about it.

There's an error in the BiG World Install bat, which terminates it (since it tries to execute a non-existant executable):

The lines for installing W_GUI are
%IFXES%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFXGNLS%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFXHS%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%2%SK% 0 | %M%

When they should be:

%IFXES%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFXGNS%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%1%SK% 0 | %M%
%IFXHS%W_GUI%S%W_GUI%L%2%SK% 0 | %M%

Important: Don't change the BG graphic-options or not more then 1024x768. You can get crashs to desktops (CTDs) if you take a higher resolution as 1024x768. When you want to play in a higher resolution take the Widescreen Mod.

Do i have to install widescreen mode on my own, before or after the BWP, or will i do it through the BWP process?

Well, you do not have to install anything, but you can. Now, when you install the BWS product(the downloaded, extracted and ready_to_be_installed mods and the BiG World Install.bat) with the Widescreen mod, the BWS or the BiG World Install.bat will ask you what resolution you wish to have, so you answer to it.

Or you can manually install or leave out the Widescreen mod if you use the ~'Further Install options...' box within the BWS. And when you install mods, it's very much recomended that you install the BWS first.

Yeah, since 2007 much has changed in the world of megamods. :D
Read the first post of this thread.

Then start the BWS and try it. You can abort the BWS, can start it again, save and load your mod-selections and more. There are help-texts to give you more insight of the BWS functions.

I get a choice to install or not foreign mods. What should i do? What does it mean foreign? I mean, will i have to know other languages in order to play them?

EDIT: Oups! Do i have to install BG1, too? Isn't there a way to skip it? It seems i cannot continue without it.
edit-2: I got past the above problem. Now it is checking availability of mod components.

If you looked at the BWP Guide or the linklist, some mods are available in only German, Spanish, French, Polish, Korean, Chinese AND Japanese, along with English ... so yeah, you may need to know those languages when you play them ^_^

Clicking that option will install ONLY english mods (or whatever language you chose at the beginning :D)

EDIT: You have an option to use only the BGII mods methinks (it was introduced in BWP8.1) Look at the text to the right lol :D

BG2 only: If you want to run a BG2 installation only, write a minus (-) into the BG1 field. In this case, all BGT- and BG1-mods will be removed from the selection.

Cheers,
Lol

At the end of availability checking i got this message:

-Summary-
These selected downloads are defect:

Boards o' Magick Item Pack (BoM Item Pack) v2.0
Improved Volcano! (Pack for ToB) v2.0
Mersetek le Joaillier v1.2
Alcool v0.9
Au service d'Oghma v1.5
Teleport Spell v13
Kiara-Zaiya NPCs (with translations) v1.6
Improved Summons v2.01
Finished.

Does it mean that i cannot have Improved Volcano!? :( :( :(

Edit: In the right side window it says:

What's done:
All the mods that were selected in the main window are downloaded now. For each mod, a list of current links is kept. From these, the current size of the linked file is checked.
If a file of the same size already exists in the download-directory, the download is skipped.

Otherwise, the "BiG World Setup" will use the included wget-utility to fetch the file.

I don't remember selecting anything, i just pressed continue. I think it means that everything was selected to be downloaded. It is fortunate that i have prepared a double cup of tea!

Didn't Jarno tell you to check the "Further customize installation" option in the screen with the paths??? That gives the mod-selection screen.

Now, about Volcano!, when the cmd window with the language selection pops up, you could download and extract it manually, and then continue with the cmd window's installation  (hope you're still not there )

@BWP guys: Would it be a better option to just check the "Further customize install" by default, or just force the user to select his mods and make a backup (to prevent stuff like this)

Or maybe rename it to "Manually choose mods" or something :P

Cheers,
Lol

I am not still there. I didn't chose "Further customize installation", just clicked 'continue'. I assume this means that everything will be downloaded? This is where i am now, downloading.
So, what do i do now with Volcano!?

If the BWS is still downloading stuff, use the Linkliste to download the mods that are called "defective". And extract them manually using any extraction program like WinZip, Winrar or 7zip into your BGII-SoA folder. So, when the cmd window pops up, it can still install them if they're there

Thanks, i am doing this now. When will cmd pop up? At the end of downloading? Do i have time to download them from the list?

Shouldn't i put them at the BiG World Downloads folder?I see that BWP downloads everything in this folder. Also, i see that most are in zipped form.Should i unzip them all, put my defective there, or will the program search for the defective in the main bg2 folder and unzip the rest when necessary?
