I'm getting an error when trying to install the BWPsetup :The ''Baldur's Gate II"folder you entered does not contain a full installation. At least the file CD5\Movie\25movies.bif is missing.Copy it from you CD\DVD if you did a full instalation. If not, do a new BG2 install.
Problem is that I have a full instalation and that file is in the movies directory.Paths in the baldur.ini seem to be ok(but I might be wrong, I'm new to all this).I wouldn't be able to copy that file(or files)anyway becouse I have a dvd saga edition, where there are basicly 3 files on that dvd(Setup-1.bin, setup-2.bin and setup.exe).
What is the problem???
thanks for the help
I wanted infravison like the elves...But 'tis more than just taking their eyes

FFS! That 0 byte bdash168.exe that gets downloaded by the Big World Setup is a fucking trojan! Not only that, but I downloaded it while UAC was off. Brilliant! Leo needs to get that OUT of the linkliste and the BWS NOW!!!! (at least until Vlad settles his business with his Turkmen hackers).
Rapidshare was being a pain in the ass, but I was able to download the actual bdash168.exe from the Russian site. Could SHS host it for the time being?
If you have downloaded the 0 byte bdash168.exe, you might find you're having a hard time deleting it. I even tried booting into Safe Mode and wasn't able to get rid of it. After a couple reboots it started spawning folders titled, "Not Valid" in different places on my HD. I ended up opening an administrator cmd.exe, going into Task Manager and ending the process explorer.exe (with the cmd.exe box still open!) and manually deleting bdash168.exe and all the new folders it spawned in the cmd.exe box. I think I was able to contain the virus. I've rebooted a couple times since and bdash hasn't reappeared, and the file folders haven't either.

@mr fantastic: Please stick with one thread or it will be more messy then it already is.

Regardless, the BWS should link to a different version of bdash168 until Vlad gets his issues sorted out.

I don't know what your experience with that file was, but I know what a trojan is. I did IT at a major university for two years while I was in college. That thing is a trojan and needs to be squelched immediately. Besides, my computer is used pretty exclusively for gaming and I haven't done any major downloading in the last couple weeks, nor have I seen the "Not Valid" folder creation behavior before I downloaded that 0 byte file.
Look, I don't know what your major university taught you, but it was certainly not that a 0-byte file, i.e. a file that exists exclusively as a pointer to a segment of your hard drive volume's data with a length of zero, which means containing exactly *nothing* that could function as either text or code, would serve as a trojan, which is the description of a malicious segment of code hidden inside of a non-malicious piece of code. Can you explain how the bad hackers could have managed to hide malicious code among no code at all???
That 0-byte file is there because the program used by the BWS to download your chosen mods has tripped over the user/password request set up by Vlad after his site got hacked. It was started to d/l the file, created a new file record on disc, then tried to d/l the actual file content into it. But with Vlad's site not serving any, it simply closed the file again with nothing in it. (I admit I'd have expected WGET.EXE to be smart enough to remove the failed file, but oh well...)
Oh, and before you pull out the real smarts from university IT and tell us something about AD streams in NTFS and how they could be used to put malware on your computer without showing up in windows explorer... Better don't. In your own best interest.
I do not argue your pc being infected from somewhere. Oh, I do not at all. But it was not from this BWS download.
Which would be against the obvious wishes of BaldurDash's creator. I could go a lot deeper into this, especially in relation to the first part of this post, but... I won't.Regardless, the BWS should link to a different version of bdash168 until Vlad gets his issues sorted out.
...
Sorry if this seems unnecessarily harsh, but stuff like this gets me every time.

It's not like it breaks the game if its not installed

In theory, yes, but that could only have been problematic for the few (if any) unfortunate ones who managed to d/l the file between the hacking and Vlad's locking his site.Ok, so ... umm, can this hacker guy (theoretically) replace the legit BDash with an infected one of the same size (or a different one)?? Regardless, I think the BWS should temporarily let go of BDash ...
OTOH, I've loaded both the links provided by Russian, and while the RS one looks fine to me (without having tried to install it, mind you, I'm rather happy with my working install mentioned earlier ), the DF one caused my virus scanner to crash (which in itself may also have been just a freak accident). Not implying anything, just reporting.
I'd also consider it rather unlikely that those hackers might have put infected versions of original files on Vlad's site, to me it looks more like your run-of-the-mill script kiddies who found a non-secured site and decided to get a kick out of being a jerk to lots of other people they just don't give a... care about.

The hacker hacked something ... and then did the hacker put up the password, or did Vlad do that??

On another note, has anyone successfully installed the 1PP Thieves avatars after Aurora v4 came out??

When i get up (8 hours passed) it looked like that
and nothing was happening.
How to chek if this mod installed correctly or not? (I don't think so btw )
If no, it's f***ng insane.

The three WeiDU.exe's fail to update and so the cmd.exe hangs, you need to restart the BiG World Install.bat again... but before that, I suggest that you go and open the WeiDU.log and see if any of the mods installed:and nothing was happening.
How to chek if this mod installed correctly or not? (I don't think so btw )
If no, it's f***ng insane.
And if they didn't delete the three setup-*modname*.exe's that fail to update and replace then with a copy of another patched WeiDU.exe that's renamed as them(setup-*modname*.exe). Bit more info in here, question #1.
And if the WeiDU.log has many "setup-modname.tp2...", then you need to go and start the BiG World Setupp.vbs again and remake the setup completely, and while at that when the setup is over and the installation is about to start, you need to go and start one of the setup-*modname*.exe's and make sure that the update process succeeds to completion while not installing any mod components(and replace the failed setup-*modname*.exe's).
Would be appropriate response...We are sorry for this, but it can't be helped, as for today, in all the new installs, the WeiDU.exe's update process needs to be started manually...
The reason why the update fails is because the Windows fails to close the .exe's and so still thinks that they are in use, and so they are set to read only state... and sometimes you can only move them but you cannot delete them until you restart the computer. The Clever Idiots.

This is a known issue in Infinity Animations (and I suppose Aurora since it uses the same code). Well it's known only to me so far but I've posted a fix in the IA forum. It isn't an easy fix for a non-modder, though you could edit the scripts manually and recompile them as well (also requires at least a little modder know-how). But the chicken quest is pretty much the only place you will see this happen even in a BWP install, though there is something similar in NTotSC if you've got that too (fix also posted in that link). My weidu.log says I have them both and it seems to work - except for a crash when I tried to bring the fowl apprentice to High Hedge. When he was successfully polymorphed back I had an invisible npc with a large blue circle for a second or two, then ctd. But I'm not sure if that is due to 1PP avatars or not.
