Real newbie to mods here...

I DLed and installed the BWP, and for the most part it seems to be running decently.
But I don't think everything installed...
I cannot find either Finch, Indira, or Rose (probably some other stuff didn't go quite right either).
I'm well into the game already, nearing the end of what would be a vanilla BG game.
Is it too late to install these?
And, how do I do that?

in order to choose desired mods, i open BiG_World_v8.2_english.pdf to take a look on what is included and decide whether I want this or that thing in my installation, and of course I believe that BiG World Install.bat will install everything the way stated in manual.
in case with components 3000 and 3070 of SCSII it is not true - batch file handles them in a different way (if I get things right), thus misleading users a bit. that is what i wanted to indicate, nothing more.

Yeah :) I didn't mean to be rude or anything :P (if I did seem like that, please accept an apology :P)

The BWP guys have repeatedly said that the guide was a tad outdated with respect to the new stuff added in v7 and v8 (and 8.1, 8.2 etc) so they are probably trying to fix this and your post will help :D

Thing is, we've found some typos (that can affect installation, like installing wrong translations and stuff) and there are probably more :P

imho Shield of Balduran is created by game developers for the only purpose - to help unexperienced gamers to deal with beholders. their casting rate is incredibly high and it is very difficult to slay them without proper protections, of which beginners have little knowledge yet. by now it is much more interesting for me to take some challenge with them. so now I wouldn't buy this shield but would try some other tactics.

That's probably why the component was created ^_^ (but these should imho be left out until users are able to choose components themselves) BWPv7 had this similar component in some mod that removed Crom Faeyr, but people started missing their favorite weapon

If you think you haven't got them installed, please upload your WeiDU.log :)

Otherwise, these are their starting places:

I dunno whether you could install these late in the game though :P

The BP-BGT-Worldmap installation in the BWP defaults to the smaller of the two possible sizes (unless I misread the PDF), which I would like to change. I was trying to adjust my install.bat, but to pipe in the options for this packet it seems to use a textfile generated on the fly. How can I change those options and those of other packets using .txt input pipes?

The file that's used for BP-BGT-Worldmap is in Big World Smoothpack\_modify\ :) Dunno what it option is what though, sorry :P (but I hear that the options chosen by the BWP are recommended ... for compatibility or something)

Was that a reply to the WeiDU log I posted? If so, I'm unclear of what you're asking of me...

Definetly not, it was a reply to Setharnas, Lollorian didn't quote cause the post was right next to his.

Thanks Lol, I found it (bah, should really have known better and done a file search... sorry). I'll try a modified installation overnight. Either I'll be able to play tomorrow... or the day after. ;)

@Strikh and Jarno: sorry for the confusion and thanks for clearing it up.

Er... I'm unsure, for BG2 Tweaks the guide says:

120 [Change Avatar When Wearing Robes or Armor (Galactygon)]? Install

This component affects ALL objects, also those from other mods! If you want to use that one component with Refinements, install it before Refinements in install order. For more information see http://www.shsforums...showtopic=21698 Don't install this component together with the mod "1ppv3: Thieves Galore" because this mod includes with "Improved Improved Galactygon' s Avatar Switching" an improved version of this component.

However, can the version included in Thieves Galore be installed after refinements?? (it is listed after in the mods order, Refinements on page 145 and Thieves Gallore at page 180, so thats why it got me confused..)

Anyway "I think" the version in Thieves Galore is better and also can be installed after Refinements, however it got me confused as in.. "Why would the guide tell to install this BG2Tweak version instead of skipping it and leave the job to Thieves Galore ??" Doesn't makes sense.

Can anyone clear this issue for me ? Posted Image

Grateful ^^

(PS: AHA! I see you had to edit too Posted Image )

...

Could you use the quote tags so it could be a bit more clear what you are asking:
[quote name='lalalalalaalaa my name is here']And the subject is here[/quote]
So it comes out like this:

And the subject is here

What comes to the subject of avatar changes, the BiG World guide can be a bit flaky, so as the latest usually is the greatest... so the 1PP Thieves Galore is now should be the best.

@Strikh: Sorry about the confusion  I still dunno whether the NPCs can be installed late in the game, so didn't reply :P

@Himself: Another case of BWP-guide outdated-ency-ness :lol:

I finally downloaded all mods BUT now I have problems with extraction (getting tired of it :( )
I can't extract Baldurdash (BD-WeiDU) v1.6.8: (BDash168.exe)
When I try to launch it - windows(windows 7) says that BDash168.exe is not a win32 application.

Sure, it's not.

The authors site/code was hacked and he added a password to his site that the BWS cannot handle. So you downloaded the html/php-code or whatever produces this to your directory. So currently, I think there is no legal and current download from baldurdash.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Looks like it just got worse :( BWL doesn't even load in my browser now :o (neither site, nor forums)

Here's to hoping they get back soon!!!

Well, I used the google links and it works for me, so...
Now, I would ask Russian, if the download you got was particular size, but I am not in a computer that has that info, but I could just few hours ago open the real .exe with WinRAR and see what it holds, so you could also do the same.

You're right. BDash168.exe - size 0.
So where can I download it? I found a link http://www.eishel.co...ds/BDash168.exe, but I don't know the password.

I launch exe file, it extracts some stuff, and then Dos window with errors opens.

BTW not only baldurdash installed incorrectly but a bunch of other modes
Posted Image

I don't care if there will be some modes missing. I only want to finally install something. But I don't know if any of this moissing modes is crutial :(
