BiG World Project (BWP) v8.2

Also i've tried to install BiG on Ubuntu (you know, Wine runs BG smoothly) and after a week of reinstalling i just installed it on windows and copied to ubuntu all the stuff. BiG main file and even script runs (with Wine) perfectly but when it goes to the BiG World Install.bat i got some problems (i'm not really keen on linux, i guess there were problems with permissions as wine couldn't get root and install.bat just kept writing "could not find file"). What's funny is that Install.bat file runs fine in VirtualBox's Windows through virtual network (running bat file from within full shared folder in Ubuntu), but i couldn't run it from Wine or native from Ubuntu. VirtualBox would be ok, but it takes AGES to install within it and it keeps hanging up in the middle of install. I don't have ages Maybe somebody who's smart enough could rewrite a *.bat files for linux? So it would be faster to install?
Also i wanted to hug all who participates in this project as i really enjoy the job you've done. You are the best.

I guess you could try to remove the spaces from all the scripts would be a first step.
And just telling us you get errors won't help you to get a good response, either.
Give us more input.
And if you don't have ages, install it on a windows-computer and copy it to yours.

Oh come on, try it yourself, at least most guys have their hands full with windows-installations.
I guess you could try to remove the spaces from all the scripts would be a first step.

And if you don't have ages, install it on a windows-computer and copy it to yours.
I'm sorry if i made you feel uncomfortable by my message. I don't write here to blame someone or tell someone what to do, but just to express my experience for installing a game with this wonderful tool.
About installing with VirtualBox. I left computer on for two days several times and it won't finish install because some weidu mod executable file hangs up (everytime it was different file, so i don't think it's install problem). Again i didn't collect clue for this crime.
I'll obviously take your wise advices

Just replace them with a recent weidu.exe and you should be fine.

Dark Horizons for some reason did not install during the installation. It was the ONLY mod out of the setup that didn't. Would installing it after be a problem or is the installation fubared and I should just forget about it?

Vista SP3, not exactly cause the W7 should be faster than Vista, the UAC is 'User Account Control' and it's 'Program Files' directory that needs to be avoided.Well, since it's basically Vista SP3, run the stuff either under an admin-account or deactivate UAC (UserAccessControl - which prevents changes to files in some cases) or stay away from @ProgramDir and you should be fine.
The Dark Horizons mod doesn't install cause it was moved to the Expert install(DO NOT INSTALL!), the reason is that it has some very unsatisfactory effects, like assassins coming up in wrong chapter(because the BGT uses different chapter numbers than BG1), over powered weapons, that are using BG1 proficiencies etc. that do not go well with the current BGT.Hello, Dark Horizons for some reason did not install during the installation. It was the ONLY mod out of the setup that didn't. Would installing it after be a problem or is the installation fubared and I should just forget about it?

(which is not actually Solaufein's job btw since he made it for BGI originally, the BGT version was by White Agnus. now I dunno if Tutu uses BGII profs, in which case, Solaufein would have to fix it )
The mace is a direct descendant of the basic club, being nothing more than a wooden shaft with a stone or iron head mounted on the end. The head design varies; some being spiked, others flanged, and still others have pyramidal knobs.

I can not find any documentation stating that they were moved to a different version or anything. What gives? Are there issues with these components (that would justify putting them as Expert use only), or not?

I guess the automatic formatting was not set up or some little fault like that.

Just go with the batch if you have differences between pdf and batch, because the batch is usually the current document and the pdf is written/updated after that. I you look closer, you might find a few more glitches.
I guess the automatic formatting was not set up or some little fault like that.
Yes, but since I'm interested in installing those components, I'm curious if there are any issues with them, or why they have been marked as Expert between BWP 7 and BWP 8.2?

%IFXNGS%MTS_Crappackv2%S%MTS_Crappackv2%L%1%SK% 6 8 9 | %M%Which means "Expert, NOT German Mode" but 1 -> German (methinks )
%IFXGS%MTS_Crappackv2%S%MTS_Crappackv2%L%0%SK% 6 8 9 | %M%Which means "Expert, German Mode" but 0 -> english
So, yeah, Quester helped find a TYPO The numbers after %L% should've been interchanged
(I looked at its .tp2 and it doesn't seem to have any language other than english!!! How did the 0 and 1 come by?? BWP Textpack??)

I suspect they were moved to Expert because they overwrite existing game files rather than patch them. That means if you have another mod that overwrites vanilla items (like Item Revisions) there is no way they will be compatible unless at least one of them is changed so it patches rather than overwrites.I have a question about MTS Crappack as installed by BWP. From the pdf, the components 6, 8 and 9 should be installed. However, in the install.bat, it looks like they're set to only install for an Expert german game? I have an older install.bat as well (BWP v7) that I can compare with, and there those components are not set as Expert.
I can not find any documentation stating that they were moved to a different version or anything. What gives? Are there issues with these components (that would justify putting them as Expert use only), or not?
As with any "Expert" component, it means you can use it but only with caution, if you're aware of the consequences. I suppose the PDF should say what those consequences are (it does at least for some Expert components).
