I'm curious, what mod makes everything so veeery expensive in BG1? The idea to make things more expensive to buy and more cheap to sell is a good one, but 3600 gold for a level 2 mage spell, 8000 for a simple plate mail, and almost 40000 for some simple +2 weapons seems too much. Maybe that mod has some options to make some less drastic price changes, not to make stores and money useless.
It's probably the combination of Hard Times being layered on top of Aurora. As they both multiply prices, things can get pretty pricey. You could edit your Big World Install.bat to not use the price raising component of Aurora, or it might just be a lot easier to do what I did and not use Hard Times. (though admittedly, my main reason for that was my outrage at it removing the Ring of Wizardry from the Friendly Arm Inn.)

Aa that mod removed Ring of Wizardry? I was curious about that, but it's disappearance didn't affect me much. The prices bother me though, it would be a good idea to balance that change in the future. Thanks for the info.

You don't need to install the Store Prices components of Aurora (they're separate and optional) or you can change the settings to your liking, as there are several options. You could bump them up by 10 or 25% for example, or even reduce them. I think the BWP doubles prices, which are above even GeN1e's original recommendations, but maybe that was without taking Hard Times into account too.Aa that mod removed Ring of Wizardry? Okay thanks Miloch for the details, I guess the best option is just to skip hard times in a future install, but for now I guess I am gonna continue playing like this, avoiding too much interaction with the stores. I'm rerunning the initial setup (not the one copied to my BGII directory) and restoring to the backup. We'll see if that fixes the problem.

I downloaded all of the 8.2.x items and did the 3 steps to success from the manual. My question is do I need to run BiG World Fixpack (Beta) v8.2.8 separately or did the setup as described in pages 14-17 of the manual (ENG) take care of that?
Thanks!

How do I run the BGT once everything is loaded? I've never modded the BG series before, and can't find anywhere in the documentation for BGT or BWP that says what to run to actually play the game. Do I start BG up normally?

But still, if you wanna do a manual install anyway, the BWPFixpack is automatically run by the BiG World Install.bat. When you've extracted everything properly (all mods too), just double-click the install.bat, press some keys and watch it go
@Dihm:If you've installed everything perfectly (you could let us check by uploading your WeiDU.log btw ) when you start an SoA game, a new option should show up in the screen where you select "New Game" and the "New BG2 Game" would replace the tutorial (which you shouldn't need anyway )
Cheers,

The Download-Log is not interesting as a standalone-file to debug.
I can only see that there were a few errors with shs-mods.
If it is the problem that SConrad explained to me, maybe we will have a solution for that in a while...
If you find BiG World Setup\Logs\BWS_Trace.txt or BiG World Setup\Logs\BWS_Debug.txt, I'd like to read them much more since the crash happened when the debug-mechanism wanted to modify the script so that another potential error could be traced/debugged. Also, dragging the BiG World Setup.au3 on the AutoIt3.exe directly can help to run the script directly and thus see the error "live".
So you didn't have to start from scratch. And you can always restart the application.
Well - I guess that nobody told you so and we did not mention this anywhere, did we?

I've attached the Debug files I had in the three log folders that were created.
Edit:
Found my Trace file.

I haven't run the clean up so I peeked when I got home. Sure enough, the installpack and fixpack are all in my BG home directory@Homer_S: You don't even have to follow the guide now Just download the BWS and run it
But still, if you wanna do a manual install anyway, the BWPFixpack is automatically run by the BiG World Install.bat. When you've extracted everything properly (all mods too), just double-click the install.bat, press some keys and watch it go
That is excellent...
I forgot two items:
During extraction my AV software threw this out:
"..\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\Tashia\music.exe
Contains recognition pattern of the DR/Delphi.Gen dropper"
See pic below. I hit ignore, but I wonder...
I am running in 64-bit, so I got the 16-bit error with XM2WAV.EXE in Imoen v12Full. I had to manually convert via DOSBox command line, before reaching Generalized Biffing.
Thanks bunches!

(btw, like i said in that thread, it'd help if someone could do a virustotal scan of Tashia\music.exe and kivan-v8.1.exe so that we could atleast know which programs flag it as a virus )

Thanks for reporting this and yes, you are right. The BG2 part will be back to normal with the changes from Aurora. The BG1 part is too unbalanced in terms of prices with HardTimes and Aurora installed together. The best would be, if someone changes HardTimes in the future, so the changing prices are only optional...Okay thanks Miloch for the details, I guess the best option is just to skip hard times in a future install, but for now I guess I am gonna continue playing like this, avoiding too much interaction with the stores. Anyway when I will get in BG2 things should be back to normal with prices so I am counting on that.

Oh well, until that change I decided that maybe its best for me to reinstall the game without HardTimes, taking advantage of the fact that I only played a little. There are some things that I would want to be able to buy in BG1 .
