Hi folks

I've started a mega Mod Game a year ago. May be it's a little bit more. And now, I want to continue to play. But first I have some questions:

Is it advisable to start with a new installation to get all the updates and bug fixes? That wouldn't be a problem, because I only played 10-15 hours. (Nashkell Mines and a little bit more). But the question then would be: Can I reuse my character so I don't have to start at level 1 again? Without the save games, just the character...

The much more important question for me is: How can I restore the original BG music? One year ago there was this LOTR Music and some strange stuff which I don't like very much. I want the original BG Music from Hoenig.

I hope you can help and and this place I have to say thanks again to all the modders who make this possible!

Greetings

Well, depending totally on what kind of Megamod you made, it depends. But it's most likely that you have to remake the character, this is because your setup won't be anything alike the last time, and the Kit's will be changed and the classed kit will also(Refinements will make the normal mage to be a kitted mage for example).

Well the music is easy to restore, as you just have to install the BGT's Music addition that you'll get when you install the primary mod. Now, the latestTaimons hack will extend the bgmain.exe so you'll have all the musics from both the BG games, the mod added musics and almost every music ever made for the game, as the hack allows you to have ~500 different songs in the songlist.

There is a possibility to make the game have only the original songs BG1 or BG2 music, but that's a bit complicated...

After reviewing some postings I think I go with a nw installation and just start new. As I understand, the tactical Version of the installation is just "harder" to play and not necesseraley more "unstable" then the standard version - is that correct?

Thats sounds fine. I think the original music set a lot of the mood of the game. So, if sometimes the good old music came out of the speakers thats good, but allways this LOTR stuff when you are "exploring the plains"... )-: Is this mod/hack "Taimons [hack]" in the installation available or do I have to install it manually?

Thanks for your input.

Best regards

The tactical version is very much harder, but as stable. The Expert is the buggy tester version that should be avoided like a plague if you actually wish to finish the game.

Well, if you use the BWS, it's installed there automatically.
