First off, I apologize for apparently being the only person who can't seem to understand how to get even the standard version installed (as, including this one, the two most recent help topics have been posted by me). Anyway...

I've successfully completed the setup (I downloaded the version 8.0 on the website...the program searched for an update and I believe it updated, but I'm not sure...the installer, however, is version 8.1, which I manually downloaded and extracted to the SoA directory) for the mimimal mods + most of the recommended + many of the standards with no errors or conflicts. Things smoothly transition to the install batch, at which time I have disconnected from the internet, stopped all other programs from functioning on my computer, and selected the standard install option, and adjust the widescreen dimensions to 1280 x 800. Again, no problems. After I get to the hit any key screen, I stop using my computer at all, and periodically check back on it. However, 3 times (after each one I've actually done a complete uninstall/reinstall/re-setup) the install has frozen. The last time, I waited 6 hours after I noticed it freezing, and it still hasn't progressed. The first freeze was copying a BGT core file. The second freeze was something script related to yoshimo (can't remember that one well). And this freeze (which I still have the untouched DOS prompt running in the background) is at the following line:

[WeiDU-Backup] Using scripting style "BG"

And it's been that way for 6 hours.
From the only other post I've read on freezing during the install, I realize you might need more info, but I wasn't really sure of what you need and how to get that information into this post.
Also, I read that there was some combination of pressing "n", renaming some setup file in the directory of where the program froze, and some other stuff I don't understand; which would allow me to resume the install. As it is, I'm not really sure how to go about doing this.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.

Did you notice the third post from BiG World Project (BWP) v8.1 thread?

In it Leomar said:

"In the next days we?ll update the linklist and the "BiG World Setup" for the v8.1 and after that you can start with the BWP v8.1 installation..

Note: Do not use the "BiG World Setup v8.0" anymore. This version is not compatible with the new "BiG World Project v8.1" and you can?t do a new installation with it. Please wait until the new "BiG World Setup v8.1" is relesead in the next days.

Greetings Leomar"

Well, you could scroll the black WeiDU.exe created window a little up, and copy few of those lines into your post.
If you have already quit the black window, you can go to your game directory and archive the BiG World Debug.txt to a .zip, .rar or .7z, either way attach that to a post or upload it to a site like this, and copy the link it gives.

Here are the last few lines (though, right now I'm assuming the problem is that I'm using the 8.1 installer with the 8.0 setup; so, my current plan of action is just to wait for the 8.1 setup):

[setup-xpmod.exe] WeiDU version 21100
Auto-Updating on behalf of [1Sylm-setup.exe]
Copying [setup-xpmod.exe] -> [1Sylm-setup.exe]:
Auto-Updating on behalf of [1Sylm-setup.exe] (done)
{Setup-Tiax.exe} Queried (pid = 348) [WeiDU-Backup] WeiDU version 198
[./CHITIN.KEY] 332 BIFFs, 69125 resources
[./dialog.tlk]127779 string entries
[WeiDU-Backup] Using scripting style "BG"

And then nothing (going on 12 hours). The stop point seems random, as the previous one was copying a file relating to the BGT core, and the last one was "scripting" something I can't remember.

{Setup-Tiax.exe} Queried (pid = 348) [WeiDU-Backup] WeiDU version 198

As said, you need to update the Setup-Tiax.exe(WeiDU.exe) to WeiDU version 21100 by hand.
The easiest way to do that is to delete the Setup-Tiax.exe, and copy the standing WeiDU.exe and rename that as "Setup-Tiax.exe", easy.
The easiest way to do that is to actually cut the Setup-Tiax.exe to your desktop, and copy the standing WeiDU.exe and rename that as "Setup-Tiax.exe", and cut that back to the game directory, easy.
