PLEASE email the file SETUP-RR.DEBUG to aVENGER (rogue.rebalancing@gmail.com)

If this is an actual error, will it mess up my install and what information should give when I post a possible bug report in the RR forum.

The quoted info is all that's needed, and the error will not mess up anything great, at least I would think so, you could also open the setup-RR.DEBUG file with Notepad, and make sure that the report is accurate: that the info is there too and post it here on a new thread, just make sure you read this thread.

I glanced at the debug file before I posted and did not find any obvious errors so I posted here thinking it might BWP skipping the install on purpose. Looking at the debug file more carfully, I did find the error. I registered to submit the report to the other forum.

Thanks

I just encountered a problem with the generalized biffing mod - it didn't install. Everything else worked just fine, and the installation finished anyway.
The problem simply was that the .tp2 ended up in the generalized_biffing and not the SoA folder.

Thought I'd let you know.

The setup-*modname*.tp2 file can be in the mod folder, the setup-*modname*.exe needs to be in the game folder though... so.

That's odd.

Because, when I noticed that the biffing hadn't been done, I (obviously) tried to install it manually. It started, but did absolutely nothing for ~ 10 minutes.
Then I looked for the other files, saw that the .tp2 was missing, realized it was in the mod folder, copied it into the SoA folder, tried again and, well, now it's busy biffing.

EDIT: And it just finished without any problems. Maybe just two random errors earlier, but really, what are the odds?

If you look around, there are tons of mods that put their tp2-files into the mod-folder.

The name of the tp2 may be the same as the name of the setup, or without the "setup-" in front.
You can put it in the same directory as the setup or in the mod-folder.
Only the exe has to be in the bg2-dir.

GB It takes some time to index/fetch the files. Then it starts to biff them.

You mean the delayed action that takes it's time before the WeiDU.exe does anything that's caused by the dialog.tlk being so humongous. Yeah, there is nothing that can be done about that, in this end.

Oh, I've noticed that.
Still, it's odd that, with the .tp2 in the mod folder, nothing happened for 10 minutes, whereas the biffing started after maybe 2 when it was in the SoA folder. Of course, that may well be completely unrelated.

That doesn't explain what happened during the automated installation to prevent the biffing, but I guess such things can happen.

Maybe the process usually takes around 12 mins (for you ;)) and when the first 10 mins passed, you closed the automated install. It just resumed when you restarted it and finished the last 2 mins

(I know ... lollable theory, but certainly possible :P)

EDIT: If you really wanna know if its working or not, there should be a SETUP-GENBIFFING.DEBUG or some such file that gets updated every 1-2 secs as and when the file list (that Gen Biff uses) gets updated :D

Oh, and btw ... the list creation part did take a hefty half an hour for me :crying:

Cheers,
Lol

O...kay.
Good luck with that.

Also, I just reinstalled - same problem with the biffing, same solution, and no idea what's going on.

To clarify, without the .tp2 in the SoA folder, the .exe starts, but I'm not even asked if I want to install the [generalized biffing] component. Nothing happens at all.

Just 991 mod components, did you skip any? Ouh, yeah, there is about 1020 possible BWS Expert install once, so maybe a few, and you could have also installed a few manually. Like the beta of the IIspellsystemAdjustments, but obviously didn't.

Ssssshhh ... You haven't seen my secret WeiDU.log yet ;)

(Btw, BWP8.1 has 1101 Expert Installable components  and its only gonna get BIGGER!!! :woot:)

On another note, I was wondering why no one seems to have noticed this seemingly MAJOR change in the game:
~TOB_HACKS/TOB_HACKS.TP2~ #0 #120 // "Scrollable" mage spellbook: v0.5.1
~TOB_HACKS/TOB_HACKS.TP2~ #0 #121 // "Scrollable" priest spellbook: v0.5.1
Does this really work?? (not that I have my doubts on Taimon but I'm surprised nobody seems to have noticed this )

Cheers,
Lol

Bit confused. I am using the Big World Setup program and one mod is in need of another or so it says; BP ToB Fix v1.77 is in need of, Big picture (BP)v1.79d

Tried right clicking one of those lines and click install but it didn't solve anything. What should i do?

Just skip this test and don't select the fix.

You can also remove this line from the BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini

17=D:SETUP-BPV177.exe:-:SETUP-BPV177-TOBFIX.exe:-

Since you'll download a version higher then BPV177.exe, the fix is not needed any more.
You could also wait a few days until the updated BWS comes out if you're unsure about that.

I have read in BW manual, that MAY BE a conflict between component "Sarevok remorce" (UB for bg2) and Sarevok Dialogs from "Ascension".

mmm...may be or 100% conflict or 100% compatible? Does anybode test it?

If I recall it right, it's just to texts that don't match, so no "real code" was involved...

I am getting constant lockups if i wield "excellent" type weapons, also some other magic weapons make the game lock up completely. Like the serpent staff +3 that drops from Mommy in Beregost.
