Is it a bug, error or what?

The Fixpack was made vor UB-BG1 V8. Not 9. So it's understandable that the patch gets rejected.

--> It's meant behavior. "It's supposed to happen."

Thanks. And when would be released BW Fixpack with UBv9 support?

I'm install the BWP and I will report if any problems to happen.
Now, a question, I've put BGTrilogy and not put BDash to not mix the tp2 files as written on the BWv8.1.pdf, hope this donīt crash the game. Tks.

E-eeih, you are talking about the Baldurdash Weidu v1.68, it's mostly needed for the NeJ part of the Megamod, which is not included in the tactical install at all, it might be needed for a future release, but it's still unneeded. So no, you do not need it at all... unless you wish the quest & harder Slum Bar fights.

And when would be released BW Fixpack with UBv9 support?

Well, if the mod has already been updated, it might not require the fix anymore... so the BW Fixpack might not need to support the UfBv9 ... anymore than it currently is{the BW Fixpack doesn't patch the .tp2 if the version is v9}.

And if you want to have some mods removed, why don't you open a topic like "Please remove these mods from BWP" and start a discussion -- I recall that Leonardo asked for a list of mods that you guys wanted to get separated.

I thought we had already done that in this thread, but maybe we need to be more explicit.

BG2_Tweks_v8.JPG
Hi people, thanks Jarno for the answer, one question about the installation. The TWEAKS and TACTICS must bem installed, one after one, AFTER using the BigWorldSetup program so they could be installed with the right options as we see in the screenshot right, or can they be automated installed by the BigWorldSetup ? Tks

Huh? BG2_Tweaks are installed by the BiG World Install.bat. That has nothing to do with the BWS currently, BWS just prepares the scene for this batch. And I guess that it's done correctly since the batch was often more recent then the pdf...

Has anyone played any BWP games over LAN or online coop? Are there any Co-op breaking mods to avoid in the pack?

All of them, and when we are talking about 301 individual mods, it's a lot. All, cause you need to have the exact same same version, exact same install order and exact same mod components. Now of course the BWS should be trust worthy, but of course there is a few mods that actually randomize things, and those will not work well with multiplayer game, unless of course you copy the whole game directory from one computer to the same directory the of the another, after the installation has completed in that game. Remember to always use the BGMain.exe, not the baldur.exe to start the game. There is advice in the BiG World vX,Ylanguage.pdf on how to setup a basic multiplayer game.
I don't have friends I could play the game with, so I use 3 enemies; Me:1, Myself:2 and I:3...

Thanks! I appreciate the help. And yeah, copying the directory and setting the right reg values is pretty much the plan at the moment.

Hmm, the BWS reads BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini, section [Faults].
For all the entries (like SETUP-1PP.exe), it opens the ..\Mod.ini and reads the section of the same name there.
For some reason, this does not work.

If you want to try and fix it yourself, go ahead and do that yourself for all your 15 entries and check if the downloads are present. Number 0 stands for Down, 1 for AddDown and 2 for EN-AddDown.
If the downloads are present, you can delete the line from the [Faults]-section.

If possible, please upload the BiG World Setup-folder as a zipped archive.

Depending on what you are searching for... it will.
At least you won't have to do a manual setup anymore. As you can use this, which checks your old download, downloads new, make a safe restorable backup, unpacks the mods and starts the BiG World Install.bat... after you have made a few choises.

And yeah, copying the directory and setting the right reg values is pretty much the plan at the moment.

Eeh, why CHEESE the registery, when you do not have to, as I said, when you use the BGMain.exe, it doesn't use the Windows registery to find itself as it doesn't need to, unlike the baldur.exe does as it launches the front-end program that uses the Windows registery to find the BGMain.exe...

I just ran BWS 8.1 and got the following errors on extractions:

The extraction of the following mod(s) failed:
Moongaze's Kari (NPC) v1: The Mod itself (MoongazesKari-v1.rar)
Big Picture (BP) v1.79d: The Mod itself (BPv179d.7z)

I tried to manually unzip BPV179D but the the file exists. Should I overight it? It unzips into folder BP179 BTW. Also, I can't seem to find moongaze Kari in the download folder, but the download process did not give me any errors?

FYI, I selected english mods only and custom install, but when I went to deselect certain mods I noticed a French mod and spanish only mod included. I guess you can only select on or the other>

Lastly, a request for future versions. Is there any way to add an option to save the custom settings?

Thanks in advance

Kari: Yes, the "download was no success"-message should be displayed before, but this mod belongs to a bunch that is not available any more -- at least not officially. So there was no "download failed"-message since there is no download; and I did not make an exception for that.

BP: It fails since the name of the setup-files that is taken as a proof that all is ok is missing, or the zip is corrupted. So overwrite the stuff to see if the archive is consistent and edit the BiG World Install.bat at the end and replace Setup-BP177.exe with the current name.

Foreign mods: What mods did you mean? Are you sure you did not miss that latest updates since the pdf was published?
There are a lot of item-mods and so on that have been translated lately.

Save: You can already do that. Please read the help text again. Is it really described that bad?

Sorry dabus I has already restored a backup and started again before you replied so I can't upload anything.

re: Kari
That explains it lol. So is it safe to ignore the error? Further, does BWS "talk to" the install bat? or does the install bat simply detect files in the BG II folder and run them?

Re; BP
Thanks for the quick reply

Re Foreign mods
Well as I was selecting which mods to install I noticed that some of the descriptions stated that this mod is available only in Frenh for example ( I think the name of the mod was alcol?) and another said the mod was only available in Spanish (maybe?). To be clear, I was using the "tree" to select the mods I want as I am trying an expert install to get NEJ, but want to deselct the other expert mods

Re Save
Ack!! Im blind I did not notice the option at the top of the menu.

Lastly, is there any way to avoid having to extarct every file when your just trying to make sure one file extracted correctly? I manually extracted BP, but I wanted BWS to check to make sure it extracted correctly. so ran BWS again and it extracted every file again.

Thanks for you hard work

-Yes, you can ignore the Kari-mod and don't install install it.
-As I said, there may be some descriptions that are outdated due to updates. And I'm not sure if Leomar updated all the descriptions.
-You can start the BWS, go to the screen following the selection and use the check-option there.
But it will not work until you edit the BWS-config yourself, since the config-data does not contain the current correct file-information.
-If you start the BWS again and go the usual way, it will always fetch and extract the mods in the usual way. Extraction will always overwrite everything so you can be sure that there are no outdated installation-files.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Re Kari- Thanks I just skipped it
Re foreign mods-No worries, I just though I'd mention it as it could cause confusion to other players

Thanks again for the reply

I'm currently in hour 28 of my current install attempt, BTW what do guys think is the record for the longest install using BWS. I've only recieved one error that I can find on the BW Debug file. Pased below

SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED Proper dual-wielding implementation for Thieves and Bards

I'm posting it here because I wasn't sure if this is supposed to happen as the BW PDF file states that if CTB is installed it will skip RR. Its not clear if its supposed to skip the whole mod or just certain components. If this is an actual error, will it mess up my install and what information should give when I post a possible bug report in the RR forum.

Thanks again
