Since the L1NPC mod allows you to customize any and all NPCs (and mod NPCs too ... in the next version), I was thinking whether an additional checkbox could be made (in the part where you choose resolution) asking "Do you wanna customize your NPCs with the L1NPC mod???"

For the sake of the teams humanity, can't you(Lollorian) just unselect the two mod at the bottom of the BWS, and make the install manually?

Of course there are few improvement, like being able to select the specific kits to be installed, but you should be able to do that with the BWS beta you were give...

The L1NPC approach:...
5 minutes (minimum)

[b]OR the automatic BWP/S approach:

  • Install Nightcloak kit from DR
  • Let DR do the dirty work and assign the kit/proficiencies etc
priceless ... err, automatic?? so 10 secs ;)

And after the 20 * four hour installs later you finally understand which mod you do not wish to install within BWS cause you don't wish to automatically get the looser kit(Nightcloak) which you wish to replace with the 'super killer one' that has every healing spell and every other spell assigned to a level, and cause of the Taimon's .exe hack, which makes you able to have 300+ spells on any level, not 2 spells on level 6(no, I didn't look at the current versions Nightcloak of Shar, but at least last time I installed the DR mod, the Battleguard of Tempus only had 2 level 6 spells, nor could they cast a good healing spells, just the level 1 and level 3 once, meaning it will take forever to regain 400 hit points you lost when you fought with 4 tanks, 1 'looser kitted cleric' and 1 mage. ).

Yes, in the end, we should make the BWS able to install all the Kits in 'KitList_2.pdf' automatically, but that only comes when the BWS is updated, and someone adjust the large mods so they'll have individual mod components for each of the kits, or makes them separately installable, but today, you'll need to do that still by hand.

I didn't look at the kits either but I know that if it'd atleast be better than the normal cleric (who's been played like ... some 100 times already ) Come on, who doesn't like variety?? Anyway, I'm gonna do another expert install coming january :P (exams in dec :crying:) with those mods, so if you all know of any conflicts, please do tell me

For the sake of the teams humanity, can't you(Lollorian) just unselect the two mod at the bottom of the BWS, and make the install manually?

Wait a sec, there are 6 mods after L1NPC:

Baldur?s Gate Trilogy - Music
BGT Graphical User Interface
W_GUI beta 0.2
Widescreen Mod v2.2
Crefixer v1
Generalized Biffing v1
Taimons tob_hacks v0.5

And manual install is kinda inconvenient when one of those takes around 2 hours to finish ;) (and if that biffing thread continues its work, we'll see MUCh longer biffing times ... with reduced disk space consumption :P)

Of course there are few improvement, like being able to select the specific kits to be installed, but you should be able to do that with the BWS beta you were give...

I don't think you can assign kits and proficiencies through the BWS beta :crying:

'looser kitted cleric'

No comments  (you win this time mate :P ... but next time ... next time, I'm asking for the Reaver to be installed )

Cheers,
Lol

Leave me alone with those Level1NPC-stuff. Please. There are too many options. <_<
Just use the pause-button or prepare an automatic pause via context menu when the new BWS is out (in some time).

Ok, something major to consider here, the new Infinity Animations seem to be the next BiG thing to include after Taimon's Songlist patch (and this post by Erephine seems to suggest somethings I have no idea about :P)

Those are pretty heavy downloads though :crying: Ah, anything for a better game :P

It will not be useful to include in a megamod install until there's revised versions of the existing big mods or a patch that addresses their animations, as discussed in that thread.

If you (or others) want to help, you may want to pick a mod or two and go through their creatures and animations (with DLTCEP or NI) and indicate which new animations they should receive as I suggested there. And post what you're doing in a topic there too, so we don't have several people going through the same mods <_<.

Those are pretty heavy downloads though

Once there is such a patch or revision, only the initial Infinity Animations would need to be downloaded and installed. All other mods would not need to supply them separately, which should cut down dramatically on disk space and install times.

You make it sound too easy  I'll be checking out that forum regularly now (was scared with all the technicalities thrown around in those threads ... I should probably get done with all the stuff I have before taking on something new :P)

Once there is such a patch or revision, only the initial Infinity Animations would need to be downloaded and installed. All other mods would not need to supply them separately, which should cut down dramatically on disk space and install times.

... and the BGII modding scene just gets better and better. Seriously, this is like ... ... no words

The BGT Graphical User Interface & W_GUI beta 0.2 shouldn't be installed together, cause you can only use the laterst installed one, the 'BGT - Music' can be installed before the L1NPCs, as can the GUI and the Widescreen mod... so only the Crefixer and Gen_Bif might need to be installed after the Kit&L1NPCs mod. 2 mods+Kits+L1NPCs manually installed. :P
PLUS, we are talking about the NPC components(component numbers 1200+), not the standard part of the mod(#1 & #3)
This is also to reduce the need to reinstall everything when you use your imagination and decide to make Minsc a Diviner. :D

Mix-Mod's stack-increasing components should be discontinued, as they do not have logical checks to prevent "overstacking." As the stack field is probably a signed short integer, the largest value it can hold is 32767. There are already a number of items that are stacked at 9999 for example. If you quadruple that, you end up with a negative value for the maximum stack (and for some reason the 300% options in MixMod do multiply the existing value *4).

I have this on my to-do list to recode but it probably won't be anytime soon, so if someone else wants to take a shot at it, go for it (there are several such components though). I think there are other mods that allow you to actually specify the stack values (maybe one of plainab's on teambg.eu?) - this is a more logical option.

Edit: this is probably what I was thinking of. Though it likely does not leave a record in your WeiDU.log of how exactly you've set the stacks, it is probably more intelligent than "overstacking" (i.e. setting your stacks to a negative amount) inadvertently.

Have the fixes found in the BG_Fixpack been integrated into BGT?? Heck, can it even be used with the BGT?? Fixes are always good, right? RIGHT??

No, it can't. It is BG1-specific, but in any case BGT should have most of the fixes. It is the rare one that escapes Ascension64's attention, and he had/has access to the fixpack development forum so has probably ported any necessary fixes already.

I can't believe this thread got pushed to the 3rd page :P

So, here's a tweak mod that contains stuff I just found out ^_^, the Bardic Reputation Adjustment in this one works in BGII-ToB, while the current component in the BG1NPC project works only for BGI ;)

The russian translation for Kiara-Zaiya, performed by Gingerrr & aerie.ru and updated by Prowler, is now available. You can find it here. In principle, the link is still the same as before, although the archive linked to it is updated. The previous version already included French, Spanish and German translations. There is no other change.
For details about this fork from the official 1.6 release, please check this message.

Infinity Animations should be compatible with BWP now. You'll need to download not just the core installer there but all content modules and extract them as specified in the readme (if you don't, the installer will tell you what you need based on the mods you have installed).

I did only fairly basic testing (BG2/Tutu/BGT/BWP) and spot-checking, but then testing is what you BWP folks are good at, no? :) I'm fairly sure it's better than *not* installing it, what with having your orogs appear as frost giants or half-dragons or who knows what else. Please report any issues in the IA forum rather than the BWP megamonster threads.

It does not as yet include full soundsets for new animations, but then 98% of megamods do not either, so this is not an issue for immediate concern (it is being developed though). If the mod specifies its sounds directly on CRE files (rather than in animation-specific tables) then those sounds should still play properly.

Why does the download's screenshot look so ... non-WeiDU?? :P (dling everything immediately )

Kinda intimidated by tha package sizes though  It'll probably take a while, so I'll use the time to remove .bam's from being biffed then :coolthumb:

I tried IA in the BWP install.bat and had a go with the original BWPExpert 8.2.8 :P (without the no biffing stuff :D) and it installed great!!! Is there anything I can do right at the start to confirm that it's working properly?? (don't wanna play it much cause I'll do a new install with the no biff package tonight ... again :P)

DEBUG log attached for viewing pleasure :coolthumb:

I guess you could CLUA some CREs that use the new animations. Just open up the tp2 and pick some, such as:
CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("bpdric01") - should be drider female
bugbear - guess what
cbbgber - bugbear captain
frostgi - frost giant
bptreant - treant
babi - green abishai
demsuc01 - succubus
demmau01 - maurezhi
abisred1 - red abishai
and so on.

My recommended install is here (0 50 100 150 210 260 400 410 450 480 500 550 600 650) because personally I think it's a bit silly for some pit fiends to look like pit fiends and others to look like balors, but to each their own (hey, that's what choices are for :P).
