I'm trying to decrease my load time by transferring all the .bif files from cd's 2, 3, and 4 to my hard drive. However, when transferring cd2, I get a data error and then it says something about being a cyclic or recyclic error. No files get transferred. I've tried only moving the movies.bif file and still get the error. What am I doing wrong?

Usually it means that CD is scratched or dirty and the file is broken. There are some programms, which allow copying even such broken files by filling problem areas with zeroes, but while it may help with music or videos, it will almost certainly cause bugs.
Copy other files and if the only problem is in movies.bif, first try to clean surface of CD with soft cloth, maybe try copying from another cd-drive.

Yeah, it seems pretty scratched. It is the old 4 disc'er (bummer). I've got the hanker'in for some PS:T. I'll see if I can buy and download off of the internet.

You can always do a Full Install. Copy and Paste the cd2, cd3, and cd4 files from the Cds to your Torment folder, then alter your Torment.ini to look for the folders in your torment folder.
That significantly improves load time. And it allows you to not have to change or load different discs. Doing that lets you keep CD2 in the whole game and not have to change even once.
Easy and relatively fast to do if you take the time to copy the files.
