Greetings!

Playing a F/M/T, kitted to Mage Hunter, and I'd like for my avatar to look like my portrait. So I changed it to that of an Elven Thief using either SK or NI. But the blasted av keeps reverting to the old one as soon as I put any apparel on it :(

Any thoughts?

Added weidu.log for install details.

Thanks in advance!

Save your avatar to \BGII - SoA\override folder.

Huh? I don't think she modded her avatar's graphics (.bam files) if that's what you're suggesting.

This may be expected behaviour in the engine, because the avatar animations are hardcoded to the class/race. You may be able to change it with the Avatar Switching component in BG2 Tweaks, which you've installed, or the "improved" version in 1PP, which you haven't. See the respective readmes - forget offhand how those are triggered - some key combination I think.

Thanks :) And shit. Because I've just installed the whole BiG again - without BG2 Tweaks or 1PP. Tried to cut down on as much extra content as possible because the game's stutter was becoming unbearable.

So... Install it including 1PP it is then? Don't suppose I can just install that component after the generalized biffing now can I?

I'm certain you can.

Miloch, right... sorry for my tilt.

Hmm, that's an expert install, did you read the BiG_World_v8.0_english.pdf, cause it says:

1.7 Baldurdash Weidu v166
~SETUP-BDTOBV166.TP2~
This is an edited version of this mod. Most of these components are already included in
the BG2Fixpack. These remain untouched from the edited version!
Nevertheless, several fixes which are not handled by BG2Fixpack are included. Besides, this
mod is required for a future installation of NEJ 6.9.4.
Use by no means the original tp2 file from Baldurdash together with the BG2Fixpack!

Read it, didn't install Baldurdash, afraid I don't know what you're trying to say

Edit: Did a rollback to my backup, preparing for a new install.

Edit: Apparently there's a load of fixes coming from G3 which messes up the BWS (if I get my facts straight). I'll be awaiting instructions before I venture forth into a new BWP install :)

All right, so I went and installed BWP anyway, without SCS. Cut down on some other components as well. Did install all of the 1PP, and to my disappointment, my admiration for the much improved paperdolls and animations quickly turned to sadness when I went about and tried to make my F/M/T look like a thief instead of a fighter. Avatar switches back to fighter when I equip it with anything other than a weapon (don't know if it reverts with boots and other apparel because I'm still in Candlekeep).

On a brighter side though, there doesn't seem to be any stutter so far (whereas in my previous attempts at an install, there was).

weidu.log added, once more.

Hope you're still willing to help ^^

It turn when you put anything else than Leather Armors...

All I can say, that's weird. I usually play human F/M and always change the paperdoll to that of human thief (SK->open save game->appearance->thief male human), mainly so that elven chainmails don't look stupid on him. And it works fine - leathers show up with a hood, anything else only adjusts colors.

Did it work for you in unmodded game? Of all things that you have installed, the only one that cames to mind is 1PP, which deals exactly with graphics and iirc some exe hacking. But I've never had it installed, so I can't know for sure.
