Those statements mean two different things.
Actually they don't, as you can get the result by multiplying the first results with -1, which in math always produce the same result. But see, this is where the my point comes out, it's about the interpretation of those symbols and the knowledge to see what hints to look out for... yes, your interpretation would be right, had I used spaces between the two symbols( != and = !), but I didn't.
And most people do not see them, automatically, which is to say that you have got to be the greatest mage for people to actually understand you correctly without question. And why I derailed this conversation... sorry.
