Long-time reader and player, first-time post-er. Any bugs I?ve encountered in the past I?ve been able to solve through the various forums. However, I?ve run into something I believe is new?

I have a lengthy mega-mod loaded which is BGT based, and have been getting some bizarre sound sets, that I don?t believe I?ve seen addressed anywhere on mod boards.

My familiar somehow uses Garret?s voice and Imoen uses Misc?s voice. But worst of all, sultry Viconia announces ?Tiax rules all,? in Tiax's high squeaky voice while charging into battle (a thoroughly unappealing version of "inappropriate content").

Not sure if this is a separate issue, but my game CTD when I first entered the Friendly Arm Inn area (with my familiar in my inventory). Reloaded and tried it again with my familiar not in inventory, and was fine.

Also, whenever I encounter tasloi their appearance shifts between birds and elf- or halfling animations, usually only half-figures from the waist up.? Kind of hard to describe.

Attached is my Weidu file.

Any ideas?

interesting sound bugs...

If you could make a --change-log from Viconias creature files(that's viconi.cre, viconi4.cre, viconi6.cre viconi61.cre... ), it would help a bit more in the recreation of the sound problem...

By the way, you did know about the BiG World Project? As it's gives very much what you wish...

Many thanks for any help you can offer here!!!

Attached are my game change logs and their associated .cre files. I found 9 viconi*.cre files. So log1 is viconi.cre, log2 is viconi4.cre,? log9 is viconi61.cre.

Is there any way of pulling out a .cre for taslois? As they had pretty weird graphics, which may or may not be related.

I love the concept of BWP, and was really excited when I discovered it in my recent mod update and reinstall, except there are a few things I really, really would want:

First, and most importantly, from Item Revisions: ?Remove weapon restrictions? -especially for multiclass clerics (an old pnp rule I?ve never agreed with).

And, from BG2 Tweaks: More HLA for Multi-class, Multi-class Grandmastery, True Grandmastery to make high level adventuring more interesting.

I would bet a lot that the faulty party here is this, at least to somewhat: 00002: ~SETUP-DSOTSC.TP2~ 0 200 // Additions only... as it adds sounds to the creatures. BUT I am not certain... will have to check.

But as the BPV177 is installed before the BGT, it might also be it's fault.

Download NearInfinity, copy the .jar to the BGII-SoA folder, and do a search in it for "Tasloi" creatures :P

And the strange thing about your logs is that, 00002: ~SETUP-DSOTSC.TP2~ 0 200 // Additions only appears biffed in some logs but not biffed in some others :o

Thanks Lol:

Did as recommended.

Tasloi are represented by the followig -cre's

itasloi.cre
taslgurk.cre
tasloi01.cre
tasloi02.cre
tasloi03.cre
tasloisu.cre

However, I cannot create a game change log from any of them. I suspect this means that they were never changed by a mod, and that the problem might be corrupted data from the original BG2 install.... (yikes, I hope not).

I took a look at G3's Debugging Suite for BG2 to check out my "clean" back ups, and even tried it out. But I couldn't find anything written in a forum to support or condemn the Suite. Also, the results were suspicious (I may have installed it incorrectly), and I don't think I'm savy enough to recognize the difference between a false positive and a real bug.

Ugh.

No, it isn't. And it certainly doesn't do anything like adding Garrick's voice to a familiar or whatever.

This is more likely. But someone could have corrupted the animations without touching the CREs too. You could try doing a change-log on mtasg1.bam for what that might be worth.

Hmmmm.

When I do
Weidu.exe --change-log mtasg1.bam--out results --out results/log10.txt

I get the message:
Unknown argument: [results]

Which is the same message I got with all of the tasloi -cre files I tried. When I re-try any of the viconi -cre files I DO get a change-log.

What does this mean?

Thank you for your help here!!

This may sound extremely silly but :P ... shouldn't there be a space between the .bam and --out :P

Otherwise, check if there's a result folder in your BGII-SoA folder or whether there's already a log10.txt in it (I dunno if that affects anything but still :P)

Cheers,
Lol

Duh-oh!

Thanks Lol! As you can tell, I have little experience with the code, and my cutting and pasting was careless :(

So here is what I've used (with correct grammer)

Weidu.exe --change-log itasloi.cre --out results --out results/log1.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log taslgurk.cre --out results --out results/log2.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log tasloi01.cre --out results --out results/log3.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log tasloi02.cre --out results --out results/log4.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log tasloi03.cre --out results --out results/log5.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log tasloisu.cre --out results --out results/log6.txt
Weidu.exe --change-log mtasg1.bam --out results --out results/log7.txt

And the results are attached!

I imagine you folks are way ahead of me but, could it be the Unfinished Business' Creature Corrections or Audio Restorations for the tasloi?

Not sure what to make of the NPC's.
Is there a file that manages "familiars?"

All of those mods are well-tested, so it's probably something like either your BG2 was corrupted to begin with or your install order is non-standard. It could be as Jarno said, and installing BP before BGT would cause some funkiness. You probably are better off using BWP - you can add or remove whatever you want to the setup, but stick with that order anyway.

Thanks for your help here Miloch!

I've found an old back up that I think I trust. I'll try BWP.

It isn't a new bug (for me at least). When i installed original BG1 & non-english TotSC on top (in 1999), I get the same thing, even more, this bug follow me to bgt. So, only way to restore sounds (Imoen with minsc voice - brr...) was to export all character sounds from biff before i installed TotSC, then install add-on, than install BGT. After this rename previously saved minsc sounds to bminsc (& not only them) and copy them to override in bg2! I have no idea what produces this :WTF: , but at least it can be fixed.

p.s. It whoud be great to see another way after all this years.
