Hi everyone,

i managed to install a nice combination of mods (mostly the "tactics" compilation, but not all) with the install program.

My problem with the Installation Program now is, that the NPC Portraits Mod is actually v1.7 but the Installer still looks for 1.6 - which he doesnīt find.
Since this was my second attempt of installation i wanted to make sure and left the mod from the list and all worked fine. But now i wonder if i can install the mod afterwards (in the readme it says it has to be installed before the "general biffing" part, which the installer already did). So can i harm my installation if i install the mod now, or is it only that i wouldnīt see all pics of it?

Would be nice if anyone could answer, since their forums are a bit dead it seems.

Ah yes, and this post is also to inform you of the actual version, so maybe it can be corrected in a future update of the installer smile.gif

Gameplay Problems:

Since iīm playing the game now for some time i had two gameplay problems..  i canīt do dual class characters at advancement. Also when i advance a character to the next level i canīt raise the weapon proficiencies any further than they already are.. this makes the game somewhat complicated :(

Maybe someone can help me with this questions.. what i nearly forgot, is there anything like a manual (for example like the Big World v7 pdf) where you can read about all the modifications and their impact on the game?

Many questions, i hope someone can help :)

The problems with the installer are known. It exists since Leonardo is updating the BWP to version 8. Since he wanted to do that some time ago - just before running into a problem - the site with the links was updated by Leomar to v8, so new updates for v7 are not possible (since the site is used as a template for a few scripts). See the BiG World thread for further information.

I do not think that installing pictures afterwards would be a problem, since the mod itself does not modify anything but replaces picture. The mod is also installed very late, so I see no problem.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Thanks for the answer! Think i will try it later..

Has maybe anyone answers about my problems during level advancing?

I tested it and canīt even start a dual class at the beginning..
Also the fact that the Weapon Skills are not raiseable is beyond my understanding.. i only can raise skills which have no points .. even for NPCs :(

What's your first class?
Is the class able to dual-class?
Does it meet the requirements to dual-class?
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Well, you need to have be at level 2, have the stat requirements, be human and be Fighter, Ranger, Cleric, Mage, Thief or some of their Kit to be able to dual. And the weapon thing, you have to know a bit about the dualing process, like that when you dual a ranger to a cleric, the end result will only be able to use cleric weapons, so if you raised the Two Handed Sword skill as a ranger, you'll just waste them all if you dual to a cleric, unless you have a mod that removes that restriction. And if you raise a weapon skill before the dual and after it so you put points to it in both classes, only the higher willcount in the end when you regain the original classes abilities.

Alright... seems i have forgotten that BG1 was so restrictive for Dual Classing.. my fault   :whistling:
Thank you very much for the advice, alas the restriction, why i canīt raise weapon skills, which have already points in it, is still strange for me. I canīt even raise the bow skill for my ranger - non dual char (not to speak from my Blade Main Char).

Are you at the correct levels? Fighter, Ranger, Paladin, Barbarian and Monk get weapon proficiencies every third level, Bards, Thieves and Clerics every fourth level and Mages every sixth level.

There is a limit... as everyone else can only put 2 points to a weapon skill, fighters can put 5...

Thought so, but i canīt even raise my Skills above one point.... (and no, not only for mages etc.)

And yes iīm at the right level, the chars get the points after all, but i canīt distribute them at skills, which already have one point.

True. Thiefs, Bards Mages and Kleriks are supposed to be bad fighters.
Kits may change that (Swash & Blade). There are also some mods around that change this behaviour.
THINK! - It's not illegal.
