Well, there's a topic where you can post your photos.
Here's a topic for your own portraits :D

And since I'm starting this, here's mine :

I really doubt this thread'll have as many posts as the photos thread :P , but I do happen to have something to contribute here. However, since I don't have any other self-portraits available and have little desire to draw another anytime soon, I'll throw this one in:

img076.jpg

This one was drawn for a Disney's Gargoyles art contest in which, obviously, the artist had to draw him/herself as a gargoyle. This was what I came up with.

For comparison's sake, my photo.

I hardly ever submit anything to these fora, hence the name, for the reasons of not having drawn anything in a loooong while, not really beeing that good at it and multiple other excuses involving, among others; the lack of material, pens, scanner/camera/stylus etc etc.

I did however find a few older self-portraits done in diffrent styles.
If i'm not mistaken (senile) they were drawn for various "home-page projects" in the late 90's. (Yes, i'm OLD.)

So, more then 10 years ago i kinda looked a little bit like this:

Or this:

Mostly i felt like this:

...unless of course i felt like this:

And here I am (in the middle if that ain't obvious..). Lurker of the north, I am glad to see that I am not the only old fart here.
I look a bit younger on this illustration due to the shaved baby skin face. Imagine some beard stubble, a wrinkle or two and some gray hair and you will have a more realistic view on my appearance.

Thank you, Lurker! I'm not too thrilled with it myself, but I swear it looks a bit better in reality. My scanner is crap and I'm too lazy/untalented to edit it properly.

Lol, I'm actually curious about how accurate everyone actually was with their respective self-portraits. I've seen EvaineDian's photo in PPG and I must say it's fairly accurate as well as technically pretty good, despite what she might think of it ;) . The varied styles of everyone else's pics are pretty cool, too, though.

Not that I expect anyone else to do this, but since I brought it up, I thought I'd edit my previous post with a link to the photo I posted in the "Cameras, please!" thread.

<- right there :) A self-photo turned BG-portrait, for all those evil assassins. The tattoo and yellow eyes added in PS, and my hair is blond not red. Apart from that, it's me.
Guess what? I've started a blog! Kitchen Witchcraft : of Magic and Macaroni.

My drawing is maybe 7 years old now and it's based on a photo taken when I was 14. I was about 18 in the pic at PPG. Now I'm 24 and, well, nature didn't treat me too mercifully, so I won't post any recent pics of me. :P

@EvaineDian: Yow. You're gorgeous.
@Cykuta: Yow. You're gorgeous.
@Sammi: Yow. You're gorgeous. But I already knew that.
@Self: Stop now, you leering old sod.
I did battle with monsters, and they became me, and when I gazed into the abyss, the abyss looked away shyly.
See, it helps not to believe all the stuff that philosophers spout.
