PS:T UI mod crash

Thank you for these mods. Higher resolution makes the game look beautiful.
I installed PS:T on my Mac Mini computer (core 2 duo, GMA950). The game starts just fine, so I installed G3 widescreen patch using 1280x720 for using with my 25" (1920x1200) monitor. Still no problems. After that I applied Ghostdog's UI mod. Now if I start a new game, it will crash if I try to start a conversation with Morte or if I attempt to attack a creature. The game does not crash if Morte is the one initiating the dialogue, like in the beginning and after finding the weapon. But as soon as I dialogue click on Morte, the game crashes before the dialogue screen appears. It crashes in the same instant manner when I A-click a creature. Does anyone recognize this issue?
I have tried changing rendering to software in the game options and also disabling direct draw and D3D. I have tried reinstalling the game and the particular resolution mods only. If I uninstall the UI mod the game will once again work as it should.

It seems to be the exact same problem as kayekatarn is experiencing. The game will crash if I manually choose to attack or start a dialogue, not if the game automatically chooses the dialogue cursor upon selecting a creature. I can look at things, pick up items, loot for items, open up character screen and inventory screen - no problems there.
I just made another discovery here. I tried installing the widescreen mod using 1280x1024 resolution, then installing the UI mod 1.0. That helped. Then I changed to UI mod 1.2 using the same resolution and it still works. This points in the directon if this being a problem with the new supported resolution 1280x720.
Edit: I also tried 1280x768 and there are no problems with that resolution. My video card does for some reason not support 1280x800 so I cannot try that.

I followed the given installation procedure and had no problems there. For every test, I have started a new game.

and have tried installing the widescreen mods at every resolution and a few times have not even gotten the game to start got an error that said
assertation failed in D:\torment\source\chitin\chvideo.ccp line 4322 or some such things.
I think these crashes you have, are related to the fact that you're using vista64 and not to my UI. PST is known to have problems in vista. This thread might help you : http://www.bootstrik...ment_vista.html

I tried it again (with disabled soundeffects), this time clicking the floor, and it crashed once more. I then uninstalled the UI mod, but kept the widescreen mod (still at 1280x720), and it didn't crash anymore. I then re-installed the widescreen mod to 1280x1024, and installed your mod again, and it didn't crash then either.
The error itself was an unhandled exception, something with torment.exe 2224 (which was the number I googled on the second crash), it's just that I am pretty sure the number from the first crash started with a 7, which would make the number variable. The only other mods i have are the big three by Qwinn, and the widescreen mod of course (thanks all!). I got a 7600GS GPU, a Benq E2400HD LCD, and WinXP SP3.
(By the way, the "D:\torment\source\chitin\chvideo.ccp" error is caused by trying to run the game in a resolution not supported by the monitor. I know because I ran into this when trying 1280x800.)
Anyway, thank you very much for this mod! I didn't realize all these mods existed when I installed PS:T, so I expected to play at a much lower resolution. I'd like to play in 1920x1080, but the very same issues which your mod fixes would end up breaking the immersion for me, so I'll be playing 1280x1024. Thanks again.

As for the 1280x800 resolution, you can probably add it as a viable resolution in your cards control center. Check the readme for details about the NVIDIA panel.

It was a wrong offset for 2CD version of PST when using the 1280x720 resolution. A lame mistake on my part, many thanks to taplonaplo for spotting it. The fact that I couldn't reproduce the crashes (I have the 4CD version) and that some of the people who had them said they were using the 2CD ver. should have made me find the error sooner.
A new (hotfix) version has been uploaded. I'd really appreciate some feedback that everything now works fine with the 2CD version + 1280x720 resolution.
