[Grayana]

I thought I'd start a topic for my scribblings. For starters here are a couple of portraits I've done ages ago.

My sorceress Drake:



My kensai Cuadhra:



Now, I am painfully aware of Drake's incredibly low hairline and Cuadhra's plastic-looking clothes. As I said, these are old and well, they look better portrait-sized...

Oh, there was also this paladin-girl I found on my HD:



(How she doesn't cut herself, I can't really say...)

I'm currently working on a picture of Solaufein. (Here's a pencil sketch if you're interested) This one will take some time, as this is the first time I've drawn plate mail. Sigh!

I've been uploading all my work (well, at least those that I like) on my Facebook account since sept 2008.
Looking at the things I used to draw makes me want to sit back in a corner

The good thing is that this way I can see how I've improved over the past year.

Drawing people while I'm in the subway has helped me quite a lot... but I need to take drawing lessons to learn to draw properly.

Here's Solaufein. Eehh... I totally failed with the hair. Maybe I'll redo that part later. Some day. In my next life.



Before someone starts to bitch about points out that his plate mail is not very drow-ish (and is actually quite exactly copied from an old painting)... yes I know. I guess his adamantine armour melted when the group emerged from the Underdark, and he had to get some replacement?

(Besides, I hate the style drows are usually depicted. What's with all the silly spikes?)

Whoa, that would be a lot of work... (At least in BG2 there are not quite so many NPCs as in BG1!)

Actually I was thinking about it one day. We'll see!

So, Solaufein took a visit to Cromwell's and tweaked his armour a bit. He also went to a hair stylist and got coloured contact lenses.



And that's as spiky as I will go. Sry.

I think I'll draw Edwin next... Hmm...

Cool it looks better now spikes or not, I believe it was the brass color that bothered me in the end. I always imagined drow wearing dark colors.
The new armour is very stylish ;-) since you replaced his eye colour with a darker one, he looks like he's lost in his thoughts (that's good if you wanted to portray Soulafein from the mod)

Thank you! Yeah, the brass colour was definitely out of place. I was actually going for some kind of metallic red, but then... something happened and it turned out brass. (I blame a wild magic surge!) I tweaked it to a more silvery look and now it's fine.

Edit: this is completely and totally off topic, but how does one get a personal text like that under your avatar? One day I wanted to put "Lawful Good" in it but couldn't find the option. Is it somehow restricted? /noob (no, not boob you silly keyboard)

1. Go to your control panel.
2. In the section headed Personal Profile, click on Edit Profile Information.
3. On the page that opens, type your personal text in the very top field, Custom member title.
4. Go to the bottom of the same page and click the Amend my profile button.

I tried, but there is no such field! Just date of birth, website url etc.
