#61 Challenge: Drama

Your challenge today is a simple. Drama! Draw the most dramatic moment, for you, in the game. The moment of the story that had you stunned first time around. The moment that tugs on your heart still. Or you could just draw some plane old drama in the party.

You remember the drill I hope. You have two weeks time, and everything artistic goes as long as it's made by yourself.

My usual question, is it only vanilla Baldur's Gate or can we include mods? What about Icewind Dale 1&2 and NWN 1&2?

So long as it's Forgotten Realms game it's allowed I know that a few people today play BG repeatedly without mods.

oh I concur, but I think that maybe Charnames mother turned evil >.> or something

Or she could have used Gorion for her own purpose. Wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.

I believe it was actually asked to Interplay after ToB and their answer was "We forgot.", so I wouldn't speculate too much.

I think it works well assuming he lied about it, even if it really was caused by forgetfulness on the developer's part. I mean, isn't the fact of bein an offspring of the god of murder enough shock for one day? Must he also tell CHARNAME that their mother was a priestess of Bhaal that was going to sacrifice her own child and all its half-siblings to their evil father? That is something that's a bit much to load on the poor kid at once, I think.

Sorry if this breaks some challenge rules or something, but I can't draw worth a damn and have no means of making it digital in any case, but when i read 'drama' i instantly thought of the scene between Kivan and Sola in Domi's mod. That was pure drama, and stage-like, too. Eps, please do it for me! I'll woship you forever...

What scene was it? I've played both mods with crossmod installed, but I cannot remember any remarkable banter between the two... if you remind me what they were talking about I'll check in the mod files ;-)

You just had to mention Kivan... I don't know the crossmod scene you're talking about, but the rain scene always chokes me up.

Yup... because i love Kivan. Period.

And I don't mean crossmod, i mean Kivan with 'regular' Sola in Ust Natha, when you fake his death... I loved it, the way they pride collided.

Aeryn: That's lovely, especially the expressions.

I went to work on Thursday intending to draw something dramatic. However that was not to be.

As it seems I was able to twist any potentially dramatic scene that I thought of into something less dramatic

It started with the melodrama...


(Xan ditching my half-elf Kael, and Ithari having a crisis over giving up that 15,000 gold)

And descended into general silliness from there.


1: Ithari found it to be a shocking experience waking up in a cage with a mad wizard throwing spells at her.
2: Apparently, Ithari's soul had thought of something more appropriate to appear as.
3: Kael just about to go slayer, I always found Kivans twitchy reaction kinda amusing.
4: NWN2 My air genasi tries piecing together the mighty sword of gith puzzle.
5: NWN2:MotB The red wizards learned the hard way that you shouldn't use metal knives on an air genasi.

If I can think of something I'll try another, unsilly drama picture.

@ Aeryn: aww, that was one of my favourite parts of the Kivan mod eww actually my character started running in circles under the rain iirc

Personally, I'd never trust the story as told by a man in fetish-leathers & an iron codpiece, but eh. Sweet stuff. ^^

Yes, it's strange how unlikable Ellesime is... I wonder why. There's something amiss in her character, and it must be big if she fails to get our sympathy over a fetishist-former-elf torture-obsessed mage... which she does

And i like Edwin very much.
