It's been a while since my last post but like you can see this project is still moving along. I have no idea why, but it is!
This is probably the largest component I've ever released in one go, containing no less than 19 new/edited animation series. Yeah, ridiculously huge.

But! I was really excited to get this done because not having proper thief animations in BGII-IE engine games was always a huge disappointment for me. This is pretty much what I was alluding to in the other threads when I said implementing changes regarding my mod

I'd 'kind of' fixed this issue (haha, does anyone even know it exists?) quite some time ago, and while it was an improvement to the available components at that time (see BGII Tweak Pack) it was far from perfect. It fixed the issue with thieves showing up in their unique animation when unarmoured (admittedly with fairly messy scripting solutions), and offered (even messier!) chain mail support for bards, but the game still had only that one animation to offer, so while all three armour levels had the hooded animation, they looked the same.
This is exactly what this component fixes. It restores thieves as a full animation series with four unique armour levels. Of course, this wouldn't be very useful (beyond my older fix) without new content for the different armour levels, so content has been made

It also includes an improved version of my improved version (see above) of the avatar switching component to go along with the fixed thieves.
Aw heck, just read the readme.

About:
This component will restore full thief animation avatar sequences, which means thieves will look properly with any armour level, from being totally unarmoured to covered in plate mail.
Supported:
BGII SoA, BGII ToB, IWD HoW, IWD TotL, IWD II
with Dwarven Female Avatars installed**
**Note: I figured few, if any, people would be interested in one but not the other, so I didn't go out of my way to support installs without them installed. If you prove me wrong, it should not be a problem to support installs without female dwarves.
Install notes:
It is recommended to install the avatar switching component after any other mods that alter or introduce items.
Synopsis:
In standard BGII only one armour level of thieves had unique animations (leather armour). Any other armour level would revert to the default unarmoured animation. On the inventory, the first two armour levels had unique paperdolls, anything else would revert to the unarmoured paperdoll. In other words, you could not have unarmoured thieves that looked like thieves, and if you switched bards to use thief avatars, you could not have chain mail showing up properly.
With this component, thieves will now have unique animations and paperdolls for the first three armour levels. The plate mail animations (and paperdolls) are copied from cleric and fighter animations (because let's face it, plate mail is not very subtle).
Components:
1ppv3: Unique Thief Avatars (patch)
This will patch your executable to support full thief animation sequences.
1ppv3: Unique Thief Avatars (content)
This will install content for a full thief animation series (unarmoured to plate mail) as well as corresponding paperdolls.
1ppv3: Improved Improved Galactygon's Avatar Switching
Like the name suggests, this is an improved version of my original improved version of Galactygon's avatar appearance tweak (to be found in the BGII Tweakpack).
1ppv3: IWD Avatar Switching
This is an IWD HoW/TotL port of the avatar switching component. As far as I am aware this is the first mod that does this.
1ppv3: IWDII Avatar Switching
This is an IWDII port of the avatar switching component.
much love,
