I'm so incredibly stupid: will all these nice avatar changes at a point be released as one package?

Cheers and thanks for all the nice work

Why stupid?

And yes, they likely will be. The main reasons they're not, currently, are that a) it would be larger than the standard file size limit on SHS per mod/upload and b) that I am still adding things regularly and it would mean uploading/downloading the entire thing each time I do.

Any chance you could release just the chainmail avatars on there own? I'd love to have elven chain show up properly on Imoen, but I am happy with the rest of the avatars/paperdolls in the game(though perhaps a chain paperdoll would be useful it will conflict in style with the vanilla ones, so maybe it could use the leather paperdoll?), in particular i like the unarmored thieves looking like the other classes.

I don't think so. It isn't easily separable.

If you're using the female dwarven avatars (you can use them without the new paperdolls), you could try this:

1. Install the first component of this mod (BGII - Unique Thief Avatars (patch)) but not anything else
2. In 1pp_thieves_galore\files delete every folder that does not end in "T3" (including the folder "INV")
3. Make a copy of all of the remaining folders, and rename each file inside them so it has "T4" instead of "T3" in its filename (e.g. CEMT3G14.BAM --> CEMT4G14.BAM)
4. Copy the contents of the all folders you have now (T3 & your T4 copies) to your override
5. Open your game in a tool like Near Infinity
6. Under "PLT" find all files ending in "T2INV". Right click and select "add copy of". Name the file exactly as it was, except with "T3" instead of "T2". Do the same again, only name it "T4".

Your game should now work as you described. (sorry, I said it wasn't easy :/)

I love this! now my thief/mage can have his hood and his veccna :)
on the topic of fighter/thieves, is there a way to disable the helmet animations for just thieves? I know there's a tweak that disables all helmets but I like them on my fighters... but not when it clips over the thief hood.

Are you using the smart avatar switching component from this mod?

If you do, only completely unarmoured fighter/thieves should be hooded, so (if equipped with any armour) helmets should not cause any weirdness.

I give my Fighter/Thief a Thief Avatar and i have also a Problem with the Helmet animation (I dont use the smart Avatar switching Component). When i wear a Helm on my Thief it displays both, the Hood and the Helm and this looks bad. So Disable the Helms only for Thiefs would be a nice Feature.

BTW: Good Work. :coolthumb:

When I first saw the pictures displaying thieves (Especially Human/Half-Orc) in chain mail, numerous words that can describe my feelings towards your mod, and they're all positive if not too cheesy :P

Pure awesomeness.

With that said, time to install this into every copy of my BGII!
I am: Human-Essentric (Halflings/Gnomes/Dwarves/Tieflings are favored)
Fetish: Backstab Ability (That includes Blackguards!)
Alignment: Mainly Any Evil and, to some extent, Chaotic Neutral
Nemesis:
Aasimar (Unless s/he's evil like Belueth the Calm)
Elf (I just don't like those pointy ears)
Paladin (You could guess why)
Weapon of Choice:
Short Sword/Thrown Daggers + Buckler

^ You mean to say you just learned of this component?

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy it :)

Not possible without major hackery.

Yup totally

While I have no problems with helm showing along with the hood (Just like in IWDII)

But what about those characters in BG Dual Classing system?

I mean... I had to uninstall the smart avatar morpher because my PC is always a Fighter Dual Thief, and the script just switches him back to Fighter Male Human every time I change it with keeper to Thief Male Human

It's all about the hood fetish!

It does switch them (as the name suggests, haha!).

There is some logic for multi classing, to prevent things like conflicting hood/helmet situations. You could customise the switching to your tastes. I thought about implementing something like that from the installer, but the required coding is a bit beyond me.

Your executable doesn't seem to match.

Are you using an official ToB .exe patched to v26498 (not using a no-CD patch or anything like that)? If so, did you install any other mods patching the game executable?

Yes I am using official ToB executable with the latest patch applied and without no-CD patch. As to the other mods its hard to say I guess since I am installing a megamod and prolly some mods modify .exe file... hmmm... Aurora's Shoes for Baldur's Gate Trilogy comes to my mind cause I had errors with that mod the previous install. Turned out I had wrong system language chosen which caused the mod to fail patching BGMain.exe, but when I changed the language to English all went smooth.

Heya  I got the same error yesterday, and the only thing that's different from my last (perfectly good) install AND that patches the exe is Aurora v4 (which is installed before 1PP thieves (maybe the new version does stuff differently??) :P

I have a suspicion what the problem might be. I'll look into it :)

In the meantime, does everything install correctly if you switch the install order around?

Getting a new install done with all the 1pp before Aurora :)

Maybe I should mention that with the above problem, the game gives CtDs when any thief guy comes on the screen (case in point, the BGII intro - when Imoen comes out of the door :D)

Ok, I can confirm that exchanging the entire 1PP line with Aurora works for the BWP :coolthumb: (but will Aurora's stuff now look like vanilla, or will it automatically use 1PP?? :P)

Haven't played the game yet btw

EDIT: Ok, trying to play the game ... but it stlll crashes :( This is probably not related to 1pp now, so I'll shift this to the Mega Help forums :P

I can confirm the .exe checks for this will fail if either Infinity Animations or Aurora is installed before it. So apparently it is checking some of the same offsets that IA patches. You could avoid this by checking different offsets, or accounting for the possibility of IA being installed (as IA and Aurora both do), but the question arises - is this .exe patch trying to patch to different values than IA or the same?

Edit: I checked all these offsets and they're the same values as what IA is patching to (same goes for Aurora). So no conflicts in theory but in practice, 1PP's file check routine could be a bit smarter, and a lot shorter than 2000 lines of code (no offense to whoever wrote it :P).

Heya, while in the component "1] BGII - Unique Thief Avatars (patch)" got the same error as the folk above, lines the kind of

Error: the value we are trying to replace at offset 0x459675 (28) does not match what was expected (34). Stopping installation.

and goes..

Anyway, since it seems to be something megamod related, would try to find a way around without bothering fine, busy people like yourselves.. but animations are beyond me ^^

Just a question:

If I install only the Improved Improved Galactygon's Avatar Switching, and later add the thief avatars (patch + content) on top of the install with an on-going game, would it work, crash, or need a new game to run properly ?

Btw..

Ok, trying to play the game ... but it stlll crashes Posted Image This is probably not related to 1pp now, so I'll shift this to the Mega Help forums Posted Image

Damn just checked and its crashing here too, wasn't some mods ago.. will uninstall stuff to try and find what did this. Posted Image
