I've recently dug up my copy of Planescape Torment and, figuring that perhaps it might be best to optimize my game in terms of performance and content beforehand this time, have looked up various relevant guides and mods. As I intend to use the Wide Screen/UI mods, a "Full Installation" is apparently necessary. However, all the full installation guides I have encountered have instructed me to transfer the .bif files from CDs 2, 3, and 4 into a folder in my P:ST directory. However, I possess the pre-patched 2 CD version, and not the original 4Cd version. Furthermore, while each guide references the total memory occupied by this collection of .bif files as ranging into the gigabytes, my CD 2 only contains about 300 mb of .bif files (CD 1 does not appear to contain any accessible .bifs). Is this normal? Should I in fact be copying more than just, specifically, the .bifs (although even then the total size of CD 2 amounts to a mere 700 megabytes or so)? Is it necessary for me to find a means of extracting files from CD 1?

The 2CD full install method is pretty much the same as the 4CD version, just ignore the bits regarding CD3 and CD4. I don't -think- you need to copy CD1 with the 2CD version, you don't in the 4CD version. I'd try it without copying CD1 and see if it works, if it doesn't, then go ahead and copy it as well.

I would recommend copying the full contents of CD2.

Thanks. Everything seems to have worked out fine with that method.
