I just beat Baldur's Gate using the Big World Project mod, went to pause before scream to save my goodies, from BG, and they were not there to put on the ground.
ok i dealt with that, so i go to all of the area's to get my mapping out of the way, and thought i would go ahead and deal with the lich at the city gates...WTF! 5 of us go down, loaded for bear with all of our bg equipment we had, and i am thinking this guy usually is not that big of a deal, yeah 2 time stops instead of the normal 1, 2 gate spells, another demon in our back ranks, a fire elemental, and within mere seconds my level 9-10 party was decimated!
that lich while not being a push over before was doable, now omg! so i talk to this boy outside of that inn and he drops a map, that opens some areas on my world map, where we run into werewolves, having saved my stuff from werewolf island, i can switch to those items and deal with them.
so we go to one of the other opened maps and run into some vampire mists, and then some vampires and my loaded for bear party gets decimated again WTF! its on easy and i am getting stomped. one of the vampires, looked like bohdies cadre hit my main pc one hit dead.
i expect to have 1 or 2 or even 3 deaths in a hard battle, and go get them raised after, but this is for the birds.
BG was sweet, i am running a new kit that is a Druid/Sorc combo, she's got icing death pick pocketed from Drizzt, and another +3 Scimitar. she is a fighter/mage that when buffed is or i thought was pretty solid.
I don't know if i am gonna keep the mod, i love the items, but what good are items if they do not keep you from being stomped like a newbie.

Well this is not really about SoA, but BWP, so should probably be moved to the megamod forum.
But Big World Project is not "a mod" but a means to let you install a whole bunch of mods. It's hard to tell which mods mods are causing all of what you describe... you have to be somewhat selective in the BWP if you want a more "refined" game. I would suspect that tactical stuff like SCS2 is making encounters "harder" in general, but could be BP or WTF (i.e. who knows).

save.
take everything you have / want to keep and put it in some container.
proceed.
save.
clua the party to the container. take your stuff
clua back.
ohhhh!
not quite as easy way
save
put everything you have / want to keep in a container
fill your main character with stuff till the inventory's completely full
export.
drop everything on the ground
take more stuff from the container.
fill inventory
export
repeat until container empty
proceed with game.
save.
move save in baldursgate folder from save to mpsave
start game. import the exported character 1.
put equip into a container.
change characters, switch exported character 1 for 2.
repeat until you have all your stuff.
save.
switch save game from mpsave back to save.
play.
you could also just delete the necessary lines from the baldurs.bcs
i believe it's something like "Player1(DestroyAllItems)" or something. it's been so long.
these methods work for all cases you get your stuff taken away, though.
call it cheating, call it unfair, i don't give a shit.

Way too complicated, as you can drop everything into one map that doesn't change itself, and push X to fine out the areas area code, and then just use the same thing once in BG2, then use the CluaConsole:MoveToArea("x") code to move between the two areas and you have all your dropped items in the old area....fill your main character with stuff till the inventory's completely full
export.
drop everything on the ground...

I dislike that version since, depending on how slow the user is, or accidentally sleeps, the stuff can vanish. it won't vanish in a container.
complicated =/= not as good

I like & use the container approach. It involves as much metagaming :cough: cheating :cough: as using CLUA but can be justified within the gameplaying context.Way too complicated, as you can drop everything into one map that doesn't change itself, and push X to fine out the areas area code, and then just use the same thing once in BG2, then use the CluaConsole:MoveToArea("x") code to move between the two areas and you have all your dropped items in the old area....fill your main character with stuff till the inventory's completely full

I usually store my BG1 stuff in Nashkel Inn--it's the least the town can do is watch over my loot as I head off to further adventures. Then at some later point in BG2, I walk or CLUA back to Nashkel and collect my goods. Also a great way to pick up BG1 NPCs for play in BG2.
