Hiya. First of all, i`m really impressed over your progress from v5.x - the one i tried previously. Still, there are some things requiring attention:

1. Some BG all-in-one dvd editions are already patched to latest version, but doesnt seem to include the Readme_patch.txt and BG2-ToB Patch ReadMe.txt used by BWP installer for patch checking. I`m aware that at least Widescreen Mod will not work with this version, as the bgmain.exe file is bit different, though, BWP should still allow to pass the patch check - y/n choice perhaps?

2. BWP fixpack is overwriting Haiass Mod setup files with older, beta version, making that mod unplayable. Perhaps fixpack should be restructurized, allowing online updates for distributing hotfixes from other content sources, like BP

3. BWP setup application - alas mods listed as not available for download should be listed in "Standard" set, they should be unchecked by default.

4. Some status/wiki page should exist for all bwp listed mods. For example, there are discussions over BG1 Adventure pack causing troubles in BWP install due to overwriting important files. In other places, fixes for the mod are mentioned. A potential user may get really confused whenever to pick the mod or not. Especiallly when installing a feature rich Standard version (all mods known not to cause any critical issues) can take up to 6-7 hours...

3: I do not think they should not be standard but expert. I thought there were none. If there are some, please list them. To me, this "some guys may have this-mentality" does not help when people make a first contact with (these) mods or the BWP.
The BWS does select all the mods that are defined to be expert/tactic/..., so there is no "is available" check and I think it is not needed due to the reason I stated before. ;)
THINK! - It's not illegal.

I`ll craft such list soon, currently having third attempt to install BWP.

4. Stage one, Installing corrections, setup-[modename].exe files are being versioned, then changed to a standard one. When any of the setup files has zero size (install fluke?) the whole batch process stops, at the said file (with pid -1). There should be a zero-check and either a warning/error about mode improper install or just forcing setup file overwrite.

2: Already mendioned. And I think the cycles for updates -- not major versions -- could be faster, if it is such a small fix like that from the Haiass mod. But I think you whould be shooting sparrows with canons if you build it around cvs and such. The small selection of tools that ships with the BW Fix/Text/Installpack also is not capable of doing that and I doubt if there will be such a major change in the near future.

4: "They" are working on a new version, and all setups will be overwritten by the WeiDU that ships with the BW Install-package.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

You can use the v(2.5.)26498 to patch the automatically patched install back to the 26498.

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Since i`m using a localized polish version, using english patch messes things up. Localized polish 26498 patch is very picky on version checking, wont install over mine. Happily, i managed to find polish ToB CD, after installing it i was able to patch with localized patch, and this allowed me to use Widescreen mod. Just for the txt files, its way easier just to fake them.

Thanks for your feedback.

1. Some BG all-in-one dvd editions are already patched to latest version, but doesnt seem to include the Readme_patch.txt and BG2-ToB Patch ReadMe.txt used by BWP installer for patch checking. We'll handle this with the BWS next time, because the BWS checks for the BioWare patches correctly and not through a readme.txt. After BWS has checked this, the BWS will change the Install.bat for this case, so if the Install.bat starts, the check section is skipped and such problems never happen again.

2. BWP fixpack is overwriting Haiass Mod setup files with older, beta version, making that mod unplayable. Perhaps fixpack should be restructurized, allowing online updates for distributing hotfixes from other content sources, like BP

If something important was changed in the world of mods, then you must wait for an update of the BWP tools, too. If you don't want to wait, you must handle this for your own. Like here for Haiass:
http://www.shsforums...&...st&p=452268

3. BWP setup application - alas mods listed as not available for download should be listed in "Standard" set, they should be unchecked by default.

We go the other way with these mods (I think you mean Selune's Armoury, Wikaede, etc.). In the Standard-version are the mods which belongs to the version and not if they are available or not. If you don't have the mods, so you must unselect them or you get the information from the BWS, which is useful to know.

For this case we make BWS updates between the regular BWP updates, like you can see with BG1 Adventure Pack. BG1 Adventure Pack is listed as Standard in the guide, because it is not updated at the moment, but the BWS was updated for this and list this mod as Expert.

Here some more informations about the whole situation (see the last written text in this post):

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.
