hello guys, i've been hanging round here for some time and finally registered when i hit trouble only you can solve.

i've attempted a BGT install with the following mods:

BG2_fixpack-v8
BG2_tweakpack-v7
BGT107
BGT Tweak_v8
BP_BGT_worldmap
unfinished buissines for both 1 and 2
tower of deception 3.2
Ascension v 1.4.21
Turnabout v1 (addon for Ascension)
Longer Road v 1.15 (asson for Ascension)
Wheels of prophecy v.2
TXTmusic v 7

but when i try to start the game i get: "an assertion failed in chsound.cpp at line number 4905" :wacko:
someone said it could be because there were more than 100 lines in songlist.2da but there werent. :blink:
of course it could be the install Order since this is and odd package it's hart to sompare it to the usual install order lists.
any suggestions about that would be appreciated :rolleyes:
does any of these mods contradict eachothers in a way that makes it unplayable (thinking about the Fixes and Tweaks)

any help would be appreciated.

oh and in case you need them i've attached both mentioned files works in texteditors.

i've attempted a BGT install with the following mods:

// Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods
// The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod
// ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // [Subcomponent Name -> ] Component Name [ : Version]
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v8
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update: v8
...
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #113 // Additional Alignment Fixes: v8
~SETUP-BGT.TP2~ #0 #0 // UNDEFINED STRING: @100000: 1.07
~SETUP-BGTMUSIC.TP2~ #0 #1 // UNDEFINED STRING: @100020 -> UNDEFINED STRING: @100019
~SETUP-ASCENSION.TP2~ #0 #0 // UNDEFINED STRING: @1
...
~TXTMUSIC/TXTMUSIC.TP2~ #0 #0 // ?????? -> : ???
~SETUP-BP-BGT-WORLDMAP.TP2~ #0 #0 // ?????? -> : ???
~SETUP-BP-BGT-WORLDMAP.TP2~ #0 #2 // ?????? -> : ???
~SETUP-BP-BGT-WORLDMAP.TP2~ #0 #4 // ?????? -> : ???
~SETUP-BP-BGT-WORLDMAP.TP2~ #0 #6 // ?????? -> : ???
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update: v8
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v8

You have failed, a lot.
You need to install the Ascension mod before the BG2Fixpack, then the BG2Fixpack, then the BGT, then the TXTMusic, then UB... but, I would recommend you to actually download the BWS and make it to install those mods, as it can by selecting the "Further customization of the settings" -box, and then selecting just the mods you wish to be installed. This gives you the proper versions of the mods(as the BP-BGT-Worldmap is really old), the proper order... but first you have to uninstall, remove the game folder and then install the BG2 games back, or load a backup.

Does any of these mods contradict eachothers in a way that makes it unplayable (thinking about the Fixes and Tweaks)

These might:

~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v8
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update: v8
...
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update: v8
~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v8

:lol:

thanks for the advice i'm gonna try it out.
how does BWS work? is it an installer where you check off boxes at the mods you wish to install and then it downloads them? or do i have to get them myself?

Well, the latest, if you choose the "Further customization of the settings" option, does let you install the mods you wish to install and it also downloads them if you do not have them in the set directory, in the future, it should also let you choose any and all components you wish to install, and then it will give you conflicts between them, as it now does for different mods.

Yes, and one can't play the WeiDU- the gameTM anymore. :crying: Or at least it's not as fun learning how to make the game fail time after time...
Unless you wish to go on to the .bat modifying, and do a lot of it.

Depends on the mods you did install and with which part of BG you begin.

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.
