Let me start by saying that I am kinda new to PC's and PC games. Only started playing about a year ago after I retired.
Here's my problem:

I'm playing IWD and have HOW and TotL also loaded to get the required patches.
When I get to the 2nd level of Dragon's Eye as soon as an attack occurs, the game freezes and goes to a large black box (covers about 2/3 of the monitor screen.
I then have to hit ctrl-alt-del at which time I get a message saying program is not responding.

I have played BG, BG2 and Planescape: T on this same computer with out any problems at all.

I have a Dell XPS 400 running Windows XP Professional w/Service Pack 2
Intel Pentium D CPU 3.0GHz (2 CPU's
3070MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX

Would really appricate any help any one can give me. Would love to be able to finish this game
Thanks
Sonny :) :)

Yes I have the G3 Tweaks pack installed. I also had the tweak packs loaded for BG2 and PS:T

I recall having a similar problem (if not the exact same thing) in Dragon's Eye in my first playthrough with the IWD Tweak Pack, there were some issues with the Assorted fixes component. That was an earlier version, however, and it's been updated since.

Could it be that you're playing with an IWD Tweaks version that isn't up to date?

Also, I don't understand your last sentence. You mean you installed the tweaks for other games in the IWD directory? Or that you also had those particular mods for each game? (they aren't related at all, one doesn't affect the other, they just share similar names).

I only mentioned it because they were all G3 mods. Makes since they would not be related.
After dinner, I'm going to re-install IWD, HOW and patches. Going to hold off on TotL. Also going to G3 site and make sure to get latest ver of the Tweak Pack and see what happens.I guess I'm lucky that I'm only in Chapter 2. So we will see what happens. :crying:
Thanks, I'll post the out come.

Before uninstalling everything, try uninstalling only the assorted fixes component and see if you're still getting the crash. It might save you some time if it's indeed the culprit.

Well, I got the game up and running ok after about 5 hours (that included starting a new game and getting back to Dragon's Eye and past level 2)
First I tried your suggestion about the G3 component, no luck.

Then I restored my computer to a date before this problem happened in the event some update I got may have effected the game. No luck :crying:

Then in reinstalled IWD, HOW, TotL and the G3 Tweak Pack. Then I set the frame rate from 30-27, in the game options panel set the color to 16 it was 32. Then I emptied the cache, and increased the cache size.

Game now running fine. Only difference I see is color is not as Sharpe. Would like to change it back, but don't want to take the chance :(

Also on the options screen it used to say v1.42 now it says v1.42 (062714) have no idea what that's all about.
Anyway, Thanks for all the help.
