Hm, does it really say install or is it download? If it's download, the easiest way would be to edit BiG World Setup\Config\Mod.ini.

Go to section [WeiDU.exe] and set the correct link
Down=http://www.weidu.org/~thebigg/WeiDU-Windows-211.zip
Size=1615958
Save=WeiDU-Windows-211.zip

Close the application, restart it, tell you want to resume, say you want to download manually and it should go on.

Else edit BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini, Section [Faults] and remove the line for weidu.
Since you should not be able to come this far if it was a download-error, I assume that you have to do the first one.

I did the first thing you said and it went all the way through again to finish but i got this at the end.

-Summary-
These selected downloads are defect:

WeiDU (Tool) v210
Baldur's Gate Trilogy v1.07
Restored Textscreen Music (TxtMusic) v7
Finished.

Does this mean the entire bwp wont be running when i play the game or only certain things won't work?
Do i need to start fresh with the entire install or what should be done next?

Well, if the WeiDU has been updated to the v211, you do not need the v210 anymore... so you can go on with the WeiDU.exe v211(Windows Binary) which is a .zip archive you need to extract somewhere and then copy the WeiDU.exe to the game directory, from here. And so it seems...(v211).
I do not know why the BGT v1.07 doesn't download, but you can get it here, you just need to manually unpack the .rar and put the files and .exe to the game directory you will install the resty of the BW...
And do the same to the Resto.... from here(English), or from here (German).

Well, the BWInstall.bat won't actually work without the BGT...
No. As I said... and you'll be OK.

the easiest way would be to edit BiG World Setup\Config\Mod.ini.

yeah, if you are a programmer... which I am not, so I prefer to do everything I need by hand.

@Jarno Mikkola: Hm, if you buy a car and it is broke down, you wouldn't accept to use your own feet to get to your destination, would you? ;)

Well, that totally depends who I am going to buy the car from... if it's from a store that sells none-used card, then maybe I could test drive the car first... :devil:

But if it's from an alien(the more terrestrial version of it), I would call a friend who knows things better than I do, before I buy the vehicle and then fix it with him and then sell the craft. :P

Thank you. :)

In general:

Since the last BWP release there were 63 new mod-versions released with changes which make the current BWP version unstable. At the moment we're at a point that you have to much changes to do, to get a good megamod running. Therefore if you want to do a new BWP installation I recommend to wait for the next BWP version.

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Great job on BWP Leomar :)

By the way, is there plans for a documentation generator ?

For example, it would look at the mods you have chosen and generate a comprehensive list of changes. Not just a copypaste of all Readmes, but rather organize informations according to subjects and takes in account the installation order of the mods. So if the paladin class is first modified by divine remix and then got enhanced spell tables from an another mod, it would print the divine remix additions, but discard the spell table and put the enhanced spell table.

It would be useful since things can sometimes get confusing when you install too many mods (what was overwritten by what ?).

In the same way a walktrough generator would be great too. Like using Dan Simpson's excellent FAQ as a base (with permission) and then adding in the appropriate areas solutions about new quests/npcs found in Trademeet, Sunken City, Spellhold... (and putting a tag in the quest title to say from which mod it is from)

Leomar,

Currently all installation presets (standard, tactical and expert) require BG1 and thus BGT. Situations can be that a player just wants to auto-install SoA and ToB and their related mods using BWP fixpack and the .bat. Can BWP team modify the .bat so that players can choose to skip all BG1 related components, or create another version of .bat that do this job? Actually I can deleteand modify lines in the .bat to meet my requirement, but considering other players may have the same need, I'd suggest including it in your official release.

Use BWS and you can do that (implemented a few weesk ago).

Full Plate & Packing Steel v2 works fine with BGT as such - but probably not with every mod in a mega-ultra-everything-install. Work in progress. Check the compatibility list. :cheers:

All nice ideas, but we have not the time to do this, too. Sorry, that should be a work for others which want to help us in this case. We have to much to do with the things, like we do now.

I'm just downloading all the mods in standard version, but the download/installprogram says that I don't have the "restored text screen music"-fix even though I have downloaded it severel times over, both through the downloader and manually and have it properly named..same thing with the weimar item upgrader..

any idea how to correct this?

If you can open the archive, go to BiG World Setup\Config\Setup.ini, go to section [Faults] and remove the entries/lines for the mods that are "stubborn". Start the BiG World Setup again and it should continue.

If you want to, have a look at the BiG World Setup\Config\Mod.ini, search for the filename to go to the mods section and compare the size that is stated and the size of the file in the download-folder. Note that you have to go to properties and compare the bytesize, not KB or MB.

May it be the case that you use vista? Another member had an issue with that OS.

Do you have a rough ETA on v8.0 ?

Well, v7.0 works fine for me but I was thinking about restarting a game, and it looks like it would be better to wait for the 8.0 given all the mods updates :)
