First thanks for your attention! I must had messed up BWP v6 and v7 when reading the PDF regarding SR/Kelsey/Kiara-Zaiya/Questpack issues :( .
In 7.0 SR is installed in the first place, so both Kiara-Zaiya and Questpack should get no problem. However, Kelsey still overwrites spells (line 513-578 in .tp2), rendering part of SR's work ineffective. So if we want both SR and Kelsey, we must sacrifice either some reworked spells from SR or the battle AI for Kelsey...

Or we could ask if Demivrgvs would add the same flags as the Kelsey mod would, and then remove the lines from the Kelsey install...

I'm sure that Demivrgvs is quite busy with his/her Item/Spell/Kit Revisions which seems to take a couple of months, and it sounds just not appropriate to ask a busy guy to patch another's work. I think the best way to solve this is to make Kelsey patch rather than overwrite, which can be most easily done by its author. Untill then I'd suggest commenting out AI contents from tp2.

I have a problem with llast BWS.

Yesterday i have started to download various mods (about 200), but the automatic downloader didnt download some of them (unfortunately the biggest ones like TDD, SoS, SoBH). So i downloaded them directly from SHS site (it took several hours due to extreme slowness of the site :( ). I put the files in the BWS downloaded mods folder, then today i made a check of the present mods but BWS says that the filesize of those mods doesn't match with BWS's wanted filesize, and so i had to move them to the "big world old files" folder. Since i passed last 20 hours (between yesterday and today) downloading the files (due to SHS slowness that made me going crazy :( ) and i don't want to download them again, can i install them manually after BWS has installed his files? Or what order do i have to follow?

edit: the mods are: SoS, TDD, SoBH, Jerry Zinger, IEP extended banters, Viconia friendship. I have them and the filesize matches the one present on SHS site, but apparently is not the correct one for BWS...

Dark Horizons. And it is not just that item but all of them you'll need to fix if you want to make it BGT compatible, as described in that tutorial. I already fixed the proficiency in the item above, though I did not look at the kit usability flags.

All right, I let it White Agnus know. Thanks.

It isn't really an official version, because we didn't bother updating the readme, and also it has been merged into the Aurora mod. Also GeN1e said he wanted to adjust it a bit to account for declining prices when you sell multiple items. If it were my install, I would not include either mod with BWP but tack on agprices at the end, after biffing, because it's not the sort of mod you'd want to biff unless you're certain of the adjustments. There are 4 different options (adjust store selling prices, buying prices, gem/jewelry prices and creature gold). And with a big megamod install it might require tweaking those settings, probably even higher than the "recommended" settings (which is for only a lightly-modded BG2).

Do you allow us to use the revised version with the upcoming BWP until Aurora Shoe's comes out? If yes, we want to take your recommend settings first. Then we can see in the whole how good it works and which settings must be changed for default. What do you think?

Greetings Leomar

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Apparently some of downloads were messed up. Just for triple checking i have downloaded the smaller mods among the ones rejected by BWS, and now they seems ok.

I guess i have to download SoBH, SoS, and TDD again...

ARGH !!! :(

EDIT: i have finished downloading SoS from SHS and again the filesize doesn't match with BWS wanted filesize. What's wrong? Do i have to download SoS from another place?

EDIT2: downloaded again also bonehill and it's not the correct filesize according to BWS.

Can i tell BWS to install those mods anyway?

Please help me :(

Hmm, the BWS gets the size directly from the downloadlink by reading the html-code. Quite odd.

Anyway, if you have all the mods you want from SHS, open the BiG World Setup\Setup.ini.

In section [Order], set Au3Net to 4. This will skip the download process.
It should look like this:

Au3Detect=1
Au3BuildGui=1
Au3Select=4
Au3GetVal=1
Au3CleanInst=4
Au3PrepInst=4
Au3Net=4
and so on...

In section [Faults], remove the lines of the mods that are downloaded by you and are ok. If all are ok, remove the entire section.

Start the BWS again and continue with the installation.

Thanks for the tip ! :)

By the way, I can say that there might be something wrong with SHS files and BWS for some unknown reasons (at least for me).

I have downloaded both TDD and SoBH from alternate sources (a torrent for Bonehill and IEGMC site for TDD), and they have been accepted by BWS (i used the "test present mods" options). I had no luck for SoS. Is there an alternate link for that mod maybe?

It looks like current Mod.ini contains several entries with size=0
- CoM Encounters v1.03
- Dark Ritual (DR) v1.03
- Boards o' Magick Item Pack (BoM Item Pack) v2.0
- The Improved Volcano! (Pack for ToB) v1.8
- Touchstone NPC (Touch-The-Moon) v1.0
- Willie Bruce NPC v3
- Horace NPC (Beta) v1.70
- Homeward Bound (with translations) v2

You can workaround this issue by editing mod.ini and specifying the size of your file. A global fix would be welcome though

The server does not deliver the code one could expect, so these files are always loaded an the size is always accepted.
Editing the file will last until the BWS checks and get the wrong size again. At least I recall Touchstone and BoM from that list to do so. Since I recall those files being downloaded any way, I do not intend to change the code (I do not have the time anymore) - if you (all viewers) want to, please do it and send the code to Leomar.

I found the problem (I think) : WINDOWS XP. :mellow:

I downloaded SoS from SHS using windows 7, then moved the file in my XP partitition (that i use because BG wont work under windows 7) and it was good (as it had to be from start...). I haven't had problems with other mods (some of which are listed in haos post).

On a side note: mods that fit into "ascension related" group needs ascension mod to be installed? I guess not, since i would have seen some dependencies issues, but i'm asking anyway just to be sure :)

Hi!

I'd like to start a new playthrough, but as I see a lot of errors/bugs have appeared since the last update. Would it be better if I waited for the next version or it will take a lot of time for that to be released and should I play now?

@dabus
I use Win7 64 bit and have no problem so far (except Imoen music conversion, but I figured that out), BG, SoA, ToB and BWP with Recommended mods worked fine.

Thanks,
Theon

PS.: It would be really great if someone could gather all the presented solutions from the 200+ post into one.

@theon: i forgot to mention that i have also a geforce 8600, which doesn't work well with baldur's gate and win vista/7 (while it seems working well under XP).

Anyway, I have a new problem (strange ! ) with BWS installation.

Is that compatible with the 3 cd version of baldur's Gate ?
Because during BWS checks before start the proper install it asked me to install patch 5512 (which should be already installed).

B G 1 - P A T C H - C H E C K
=============================

The BioWare Patch 5512 is not yet installed. Please install
this patch into your "Baldur's Gate" folder - NOT into BGII - SoA!

Then this popped up:

B G 1 - C H E C K
=================

Now Baldur's Gate will be examined whether it is completely installed.

Gate CD or DVD into the appropriate directories.
If above no files are listed, then Baldur's Gate is complete.

Is Baldur's Gate completely installed? Press Y

I searched into each of the cds but those files are not present. What should i do now?

The installation is freezed until i get a hint, so please read this asap ! :D

These are the files from the "Missing BG1-Files"-package. These files should have been extracted to the BG1-override-directory. Check for BG1MissingFiles_ENG.7z (you can get it here if you don't have it already) and unpack it so the files exist later.

argh, i used winbiff and found them, i unpacked them and put them into override folder. It will work?

Besides, installation process started asking again if i wanted to install standard, tactics or expert installation. I chose standard but some of the mods i downloaded (example: the big picture) were not listed among the mods going to be installed... Was i supposed to choose tactic option?

The BW Installpack will only install the mods that are included in the version you select. The BWS is just for downloading and extraction. So if you want standard with some tactic mods, you currently may have to edit the batch to your needs or choose the version in which your mods are included.

This will change some day, when the BWS can handle the installation itself, but this may take some time.

@Gaspare

As i mentioned that in another thread, BWP does a simple test for patch presence, looks for txt readme file that should be copied after patching. You can simply provide the files in proper directories, IF you are sure that your BG version already has the necessary patches:
- Readme_patch.txt in BG1
- BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt in bg2

Just a little note: The BWS looks for the version of the BGMain.exe. If it is wrong, it will give you some trouble to continue (it will not :D ). So if you used BWS, it's all right and you can create the text-files.

If so, it could also perform a compatibility check for widescren mod, which is heavily depending on bgmain.exe version.

Uhm, i see. So if i want to install big picture or other tactics mods, can i install them after BW installed everything or i cannot install them anymore because i had to follow a precise order for them and since BW already installed what it had to install i can't proceed without messing up everything?
