Hello, this is my first time at BG Series, I decided to start playing with BWP. But I don't know this is some error while install process or background tweaks; when Jaheria join the group she gets -100, -333 experience. Is this normal?

Yeah, cause you have either the Level 1 NPCs, or SCS script in use that increase or lowers the NPCs set XP so it's closer to the Player Characters current XP amount.

I'm trying to restore the BG2 exp bonuses for learning spells, undoing locks and disarming traps, but whenever I try to reinstall the component (From BGTTweaks), it screws up my game a bit, and NPC portraits go missing, as well as their sound. Can anyone help me with this?

I wouldn't go an uninstall any component such as this... cause it's too far from the bottom of the WeiDU.log, instead, if you wish to restore the original once, just copy this from the line:
2DA V1.0
forwards to a .txt file, and then save the file as "xpbonus.2da", without the .txt extension, and move it to the "override" folder.
Edit... ughm, I forgot the link. Replaced.

hi
i try BWP 7.0 instalation and have problem with missing 25movies.bif, i have this file already in CD5/Movies but ican not continue
i've got windows7

Hi,

I had this problem because I had installed BG2 in a directory named "BG2". From what I have seen, BWP ask us to use "BGII - SoA" as the install directory. So, I had renamed this directory to"BGII - SoA". I had this error until I change baldur.ini accordingly.

So, open the baldur.ini file, and check that lines beginning with "HD0:=", "CD1:=", "CD2:=", "CD3:=", "CD4:=" and "CD5:=" match your installation path.

I did this each time, but it wasn't working.
I reinstalled both BG1 and BG2 and BiG setup now is done.
Now, i have worse problem with BiG Installer.
I have a question, how can i skip questions about version, folder, patches etc. I have right version 5512 and 26498, and a missing movie, i do this in the right folder BGII - SoA but installer every time has some issues. I gave up. I want only the instaler to go on. I run it as administrator and as user, i reinstalled BG and BG2 -Tob twice. I have no idea what it wants for but i know that i've got everything right.
Pleas somebody know how can I skip this questions?

The included smoothpack should have fixed that. Or do you use an old version, that does not include it?
If it is included, have a look if the fixpack has been installed cleanly.

Otherwise this could be a problem with your OS, security software or another funny random error. ;)
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Is it so important when I choose setup package? Standard, Recomend, Expert, Minimum
As I understand - it's just a packages with pre-selected mods to make setup process easy for users?

And for example: I choose in "SetupBigWorld" package "Expert"
Then I choose in "BigWorld Install" install type "tactics" - it's mean than would be intsalled and compiled only standard and tactics mods? Drizzt Saga would't be installed?

BWP is amazing! I did a BG2 install and played through irenicus dungeon. Man the difference! So tactically challenging! Reloaded tons of times but love every bit of it!

Then I got out of the dungeon, the irenicus and cowled wizard cutscene began, guess what, Irenicus shoot a fire arrow at my PC and killed him, game over, gosh. Well, I reloaded and buffed by PC up with all I have, went out to test my luck, this time, he got shot too but 3 hit points remained...I was able to proceed.

Then after I got Saerileth (from Saerileth Romance Mod), stranger thing happened, this time I can't seem to work around it. Everytime we journeyed to slums district, no matter how high the reputation is, Saerileth always immediately says 'thou art a villain' and leaves without a second word. Journeying to other districts seems to be fine.

Another weird thing about Saerileth Mod is the first time I meet her. It's in the Temple District, Saerileth is in the middle of the map, while my party enters in the upper left corner. Miles away. But as soon as the party enters the district, Saerileth initiates dialogue, ignoring all distance between us.

Please, take a look at my Weidu Log, thanks!

@prowler:

BWS is for the download and extraction only.
What will be installed depends on your selection you make running the batch-process.

So, if you select to download expert-mods and select a version that does not include expert-mods later, these will not be installed. Editing the Batch-File to your needs may be handy in this case.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

:whistling:

Now, I saw the BiG_World_Setup_7.0.exe downloading the update(BWS_20090526.7z) to it's own directory called "C:\BWP\BGII - SoA\BiG World Downloads", which is related to the directory I run the BiG_World_Setup_7.0.exe "C:\BWP\BGII - SoA", even though I specifically specified "all" the downloads to go to "C:\BWP\BiG World Downloads", so you might want to check this out.

Did you use the BWS before?
If not, it's just because no folder was specified before and a default-folder was created.
Same goes for the link-update.

GAMES: Baldur's Gate II, (Easy)Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy
MOD: Haiass the Wolf
VERSION: 2.1
CREATORS: Auda and Mordenkainen

I use BWP (Tactics). But this wolf only appears in Candlekeep. and...he is not follow with me through the other areas?
How I can remove this mod without broken whole game... or remove special item from my bag (it blocked, like Imoen Belt from SOA)

@ Miloch

Area Ambient Fixer
...
We are working on a better version in this thread but I don't think it is ready yet.

Thanks for the information. Please, let me know if we should test it with the whole BWP.

@ Guest-NickJ

After extraction, as the install.bat runs, there is always the possibility of and ERROR popping up in some mod (due to various factors, including download corruption) causing said mod to be not installed.

Thanks for your suggestion, but if you use the BWS then you should not have such problems anymore, because the BWS has checks included to avoid corrupted downloads and let you know if something is wrong with a download.

@ Fouinto

I had this problem because I had installed BG2 in a directory named "BG2". From what I have seen, BWP ask us to use "BGII - SoA" as the install directory. So, I had renamed this directory to"BGII - SoA". I had this error until I change baldur.ini accordingly.
So, open the baldur.ini file, and check that lines beginning with "HD0:=", "CD1:=", "CD2:=", "CD3:=", "CD4:=" and "CD5:=" match your installation path.

A message about this you get with the "BiG World Setup" if the problem shows up.

@ UberJumper

Today i noticed a new area "Bluebell wood" i try and travel to it. The game crashes. With the following error

The error you described is that the tiz file not getting unpacked and thus the tileset missing from the area that caused the game to freeze. But all problems you described sounds for a bad installation you have made and the culprit could be Vista. Please follow the advices which the BWS gives you about the "User Account Control" and to install your games not in the "program files" folder.

1. When installing the NSIS packages an error message flashes briefly and then the window closed.

That is correct and no real error. The "BiG World Setup" tells you this. Please read the on-screen texts carefully.

I then did the install, only to find there was no "recommended" install version. So i chose standard.

That is correct. The Recommend-version is build on the Standard-version.

2. Should i still be not installing widescreen mod via bwp-setup?

Yes. After you have installed the megamod you can download and install it afterwards.

3. Once all the files are done downloading, and it says its ready to install do i click exit in Bwp-setup?

Yes, because the BWS has done its work. After you exit the BWS the Install.bat gets started.

4. Any chance i can import my saved games?

No, you should start a new game, because of all the problems you have shown me, your installation was ruined, so your save game is it, too.

5. Is there anything else i should do aside from following the install guide (which honestly for a idiots guide to installing, is not clear at all)

No. Use the "BiG World Setup" and read all texts carefully and follow the Vista advices.
Before you start a new game look into the WeiDU.log and check if your mods were be installed.

I made a new BWP install and I encountered two problems: first of all I can confirm prowler's problem with Haiass, he doesn't come out of Candlekeep Inn. I reported that on the Haiass thread. The second one is Vista 64 bit related. More precisely the install process stopped and I got this message that I had to close manually : "The program or feature \BGII-SOA\override\XM2WAV.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64 bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available" . This appeared right before the start of the "17. BG2 MORE NPC-MODS" section

Wtf is that? Can you do a weidu --change-log xm2wav.exe on that too, if it even picks it up. Also, if there are more problems with Haiass please report them in that thread. It's kind of tough to follow and resolve individual issues in these massive multi-page threads, unless they are for the BWP setup in general.

The Vault is the mod, but you can only ask for an upgrade if you are carry something it can upgrade. Most upgrade mods you ask "Do I have something you can up?" but this one is a bit smarter and upgrades fewer things than some. So when I didn't see the option to check to see if I had anything to upgrade I thought I had a bug.

And Yes the closer pic of Jet is in my override folder! :naughty: I have not Yet made it that far in the game.

Okay I did what you asked:
Mods affecting XM2WAV.EXE:
00000: /* from game biffs */ ~Imoen.tp2~ 0 0 // 'Imoen Romance Add-on Mod BG2:SoA<ToB Required!>v1.201'

Bleh :P. Well you are not alone. I don't know if there's a 64-bit version of xm2wav. Worst case scenario is you'll have to live without the sounds, or get them from someone else already in .wav or .ogg format, or get someone to update that mod so it uses one of those formats which are pretty standard for most mods now.
