The Neverending Project would be a suitable nick for RtW... :P
No matter, we will wait anyway. ;)

We're closer to the end than to the beginning.

We're closer to the end than to the beginning.

While that's good Quitch, on a project this big, it's still along way to go, and everyone here is hanging out for it.

As for the nick, I say we just use this :bash: It sums it up beautifully.

Hope this mod comes out soon, i appreciat your work, and all in all i just wanna see your mod(70000 words speaking is like nearly a full book, and i am going to enjoy this)
Reading is my hobby, so i dont care if i read a good story in a book, or in a game!

Hope you keep up your good work, and i wish you all well, so that the mod comes out without mayor bugs.

But I am one guy who will test your mod, I am enjoying the release(alpha/beta version of it).

With greetings from germany Katana

That count is out of date. I'm told we're past 125 000 now.

Hmm.. I guess there will be a serious change in the gameplay as well then. Before, BG2 was 30% dialogue/storyline + 70% action/battle. Judging from your numbers Quitch, this will change dramatically.
I hope it will have a good overall result. ;)

Of course it will, there needs to be more dialouge, I always bemoaned the heavy emphasis on action. While I enjoy a good tussle and hard fought battle as much as the next person, character interaction was, while still quite good and far ahead of anything else around at that time(bar PS:T), not sufficient.

Or is this perhaps a subtle method urging Quitch to put the mod out sooner?

Surely not - I wouldn't pick up an impossible cause. ;)

Hehe why am I not surprised rtw is still not out :D From the early beta that I tested a long long long time ago back when I had a comp that could actually load things and go online, the little content (wasn't really little... just mean on the grand scale of things for this mod) was quite amazing to say the least... so just be patient for a few more months... or years :D

Actually, it is quite funny that half of the posts about this mod are about its release date... ;)

RtW is the reason why I joined this forum. Quitch and Cuv can even upload their stuff to my server. *Thats* how much faith I have in this awesome mod. I too was one of the lucky ones to play a early beta version. Even if it means waiting another 6 months. I *know* it's going to be really good.

I am currently writing the last piece of major dialogue for the main quest (about 7000 words into it). Once that is done I believe I'm down to reworking certain elements of the older dialogue, and writing the PC to NPC dialogue.

Dialogue done by the end of this year? Looking pretty likely.

I can almost taste the end.

It should definitely taste good since you/we keep tasting it for at least 1 year now... ;) :D

I can't stop being amazed at Quitch optimism.
I'd be happy to see just a little new build, for one

Ever forward, my darling wind...

I keep thinking I shouldn't post things like that, but it always seems so true at the time :)

There may be a slight delay in the release of this mod.  It appears I am in the early stages of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, something which causes both pain and numbness in the forearm and hands.  Since it doesn't appear to be too far advanced, I suspect I'll be  ordered to take a break from typing and mouse work.

This will put me behind a bit in my typing, but I'll endeavour to catch up afterwards.  Xyx might even overtake me (fat chance :P).

Of course, by the time I get to see someone, my side of things might be done, but I consider this highly unlikely.

I find this highly annoying.  Later we'll play a game when the mod is released and see if you can spot which dialogue was written before (good parties had options), and after (good parties throw themselves on their own swords, claw out their eyes, etc.)

Happily I can report that this appears to have been a false alarm. I have been checked over by two doctors, and it appears to be nothing more than poor posture combined with a lot of mouse/keyboard work. I have worked to improve my posture and it appears to be paying off, combined with the fact that I am currently decorating a house which limits my computer time anyway.

Well, If it comes out this Christmas or the next it will be a lovely gift from all of you. I know you have a silent crowd out there waiting for this mod, and to look on the bright side... since it was been some time (how many years now?) I've already forgotten most of BG2, which at that point I had overplayed. And I have definatly erazed all memories of the screenshots released that I looked at 1 or 3 years ago. :drunk:

In short: to me, and to probably many others, this mod (when finished  ) will be a fresh start to BG2 on many levels. I humbly thank everyone involved and sit down with anticipation for the comming year(s) of... anticipation.
I know that I've definatly learned the meaning of the saying (a swedish one, does it exist in english?) "when you're waiting for something good you can never wait too long." :thumb:

(btw, keep on getting disappointed by the new "RP" games out there, latest regurgitation: Beyond Divinity... sigh :help: )
