I started playing BG with Big World Mega Mod installed, and during the play I collected some items, Bandit Scalp (from bandits in Crossroads area of BG1), and Golden Pantalons (from a Nobleman in Friendly Arm Inn area).

I remember the first time I played Baldur's Gate (couple of years ago), that my characters where full of items I was carrying around not knowing their actual purpose. So now I wanted to make a post (that will surley be updated as I progress through the game) where I (and all others interested) can ask about items and/or quests that interest us.
I don't have questions about the quests yet, but I have no doubts I will in the future.

So at the moment I'm interested about those two items (Bandit Scalp and Golden Pantalons). I noticed Scalp can be sold, but maybe it's a quest item?

Also, when I killed bandit leader in Crossroads area among her belongings was Eddard Silvershield's Fibula. Is this the quest item, and in which area will I be using it?

I have one more general question, is it safe (and where can I do it) to put aside all items from my inventory, that I don't wish to carry at the moment, but I can return later and they are still there so I can use them?

Thank You.

Well, the Bandit scalps are just that, scalps that mark a marked mans death, so you can sell them for money, Officer Van in the Beregost's Jovial Juggler will buy them for 50 a piece.
The Pantalons is a 'quest' item that transfers from BG1 to BG2... so you'll need it later. More info can be found here, it's spoiler, a huge one at that, so...

Now, every create/container in the game stays exactly as it is, as long as the area doesn't change itself during the game play, good places to store items are for example, places you pass by, like an Inn in a major quest town... as long as the container is not locked before you open it, because if it's, you are robbing the place and that's bad.

Well, if this thread is going to be moved to the Megamod Help, an idea I support by the way, I might as well ask.
What does one do with the "A Bag of Grain" and "A Bag of Turnips", their itemcodes at least at EasyTutu are P#BAG01 and P#BAG02?

Since you're using a Mega Mod installation, it is best this thread be moved to the Mega Mod Help forum.

Don't worry, a moderator will move it.

Scalps can only be sold during the chapters in which you're hunting the bandits (I think); they're most easy to sell then too to that paladin in the southern inn in beregost.

The Fibula is part of Kagain's quest. You meet Kagain in a nondescript store in Beregost.

I have a question about one mini quest and one item I've found.

Dudley's Family Necklace - Beregost
Currently I'm in Beregost and there I've found a family whose daughter is hiding necklace and mother and father are fighting about it but don't know it's the daughter who took it. When I convinced a girl to return necklace, because they needed to sell it for money, I went to talk to parents and after thanking me I had an option to buy the necklace. One thing was strange here to me: I could buy it for 500 (the price they told me), 550 (sneak +50 gold to them) or 600 (the first price I mentioned). When I bought it I saw it was a simple jewlery with no magical properties, of course I made a backup save before that, and what I wanted to know is, what is so special about this necklace, is it some quest item, or I just wasted 500 gp, and what is the difference if You give them 550 or 600 gp?

Girdle which cannot be identified - Crossroads area
I've found a Girdle which I couldn't identify while I was in a temple. I haven't tried to identify it yet with a spell (I have a mage in group). I think I've found it in Crossroads area where I also found Girdle of Piercing in Ogres posession, which is a quest item for one of the NPCs in Friendly Arm Inn. Is this some kind of bug, did this happen to someone else?

The Fibula is part of Kagain's quest. You meet Kagain in a nondescript store in Beregost.

I've met Kagain, talked to him, mentioned the Fibula and because my group was full he fleed. Of course I reloaded the game. If he flees will I meet him again, and if the Fibula is his quest item, why it doesn;t disappear after the conversation? Should I talk to him now or wait while my group frees and let him join?

These are the questions for now.

Thank You.

The girdle is "Girdle of Gender" which is useless except to sell.

The necklace quest probably makes no difference if you don't get xp or a reputation bonus.

The fibula you can give to Silvershield's wife in their Baldur's Gate mansion (top left section) for xp and reward.

Maybe you should do what the Fibula tells you to and return it to the family.

I went there but Officer Van isn't there. Is this a bug, or do I need to do something first? I think I saw a Paladin, and talked to him, but his name wasn't Van. He is resting from fight with Ogres, and gave me a quest.

Where to sell books You find
I have collected numerous books about history in Beregost, can I, and where, sell them for money?

Thanx.

The Officer Van is there after you have gone through the Nashkel mines.
The Bartender, in the Feldpost's Inn should buy all your books and stuff, except normal weapons.

No I can't sell him books. I can sell him some weapons and rings, but no books. Is this some kind of bug? Where is the next place, besides Beregost, I can sell books?

=====================================

Imoen lvl-up display screen bug?

This second question occured after posting the first one, and maybe it could have a separate post because it concerns Imoen NPC, but I tought I might put it here as well.

When Imoen leveled up I noticed some differences while I was on LVL-up screen In hide in move silently ability. I'm sending You image to see, and I'm asking is this some kind of bug?

=====================================

Bounty Hunters Scrolls

When I was at Friendly Arm Inn I've noticed I can sell these scrolls to the owner. I could sell one for 3 gp and other for 1 gp. Can I sell these items, or do I need them, and can I sell them somewhere for higher price?

Thanx.

Well, some mod, probably the BGT v1.07... excuded the option... so I have no idea, as they may change from version to version.

Probably not a bug, but it's armor penalty or the like as the info on the char sheet is the calculated result. You probably could also have the (G3)BGII Tweakpacks "thieving in heavy armor" -component, from which the penalty comes into your leather armor.

Vampiric wolfs

I ran across some Vampiric wolfs in Temple of Lathander area. My normal weapons can't hit them, so can someone tell me which weapons can, and with what can I kill them at this stage of game?

Thank You

If they are the original once from the BG1, the +1 weapons can kill them, and they should be...

I told you that might be happening.. erebusant just had different version of the mod that you have. The rewards have been under revisement for a while now.

I remember no mod that would make use of the items, and I don't think the were supposed to be sell-able items in the original game, but someone just forgot, so it's same if you wish to earn few GPs from them or not.
