Check if it's only for multi player... by copying a save before the talk to the Belt from the 'mpsave' directory to the 'save' directory, then start the game but with single player game, load the save and go to the transition after talking to the Belt... and if it hangs, something else is off.Okay, multiplayer game, installs are BG2 tweaks (latest), BGT 1.07, BG2 fixes (latest), BG1 NPC project(latest). The game hangs totally in the cutscene between BG1 and BG2 after talking to Belt, the two characters just stand idly in the forrest. ANything I can do?

Hmm, it might have something to do with not getting all the characters unconscious... Did you have something unusual item equipped/or kit or class that might brake the cinematic?Okay, strangely with no noticable changes after the 4th try it worked and then upon reinvestigation it just happened or didn't seemingly at random.
Edit to correct the misspelled word.

We were certainly carrying a lot of exotic items between us but no kit classes, the host's PC is a paladin and mine is a fighter/thief. With us were Imoen, Viconia, Minsc and Dynaheir. You could be right about it being a problem with multiplayer syncing. There was also some rather bizarre behaviour on Viconia's part.Hmm, it might have something to do with net getting all the characters unconscious... The first time we made it through the cutscene she wasn't to be found in the dungeon and had a constant unconscious icon, when we saved and reloaded she was there however... was she even supposed to be with the party at this stage? If she was then it's a nice feature but I can't help but wonder if we're about to wander in to the government district and find her clone being burned. That said her kickout text, voice and behavior have changed from BG1 to BG2 style so it could be deliberate.

Hmm, that might be all caused by the games multiplayers character configuration, and so it can't be solved... easily.Okay, strangeness continues. Viconia remains in the party but it seems she wasn't supposed to. When I reached the government district the cutscene with her at the stake played out without her there which, of course, broke the sequence. If we kicked her out of the party before we got there she still wasn't there either and her banters aren't firing.
Unfortunately I do not know how the situation is supposed to play out, as I haven't played the latest versions of the BGT, and BGT Tweaks... NPC continuity contents, but I doubt that they have anything to do with this situation, so it might be a bug in the Multiplayer game.
