I've never seen it mentioned in pnp, but logically speaking if the body has been inhabited by another soul/some kind of entity/whatever, then even a Wish wouldn't work.

For an in-game implementation of these take a look at ToEE.In PnP the -10hp thing is just the "death's door" rule, where having 0 hps just means you're unconscious and dying. You lose 1hp each round, but if you're brought back up to 1 hp you stabilize. You don't actually die until you get to -10hps

Even if you say to them "you should be dead" they just ignore it anyway.

I hope the new npc is a BG1 NPC *hint*
Well, as long as we're speculating, that probably wouldn't work too well, seeing as how there are existing mods to add practically all of the BG1 NPCs to BG2 already.
Plus, did you see the RtW wallpaper? If that's the new NPC in the foreground, then there aren't many BG1 NPCs that it could be, really.
But again, this is all pure speculation on my part.

as to perma death in 2nd edition rules
Finger of Death, Death spell, Disintergration, petrification (then shattering the statue)
finger of Death and Death spell destroy the soul so no good, but there is a way to turn them into powerful zombies Juju Zombies I think
and well, getting turned into Dust kinda means no body (dunno if wish would work, I'm unsure as to how powerful that spell actually is)
and as for getting turned into stone, then getting shattered, guess you could use a wish spell for that
oh, and not sure where I read it (or if I dreamed it) but I think that a long dead corpse can be returned to life via ressurection, but I think that what it is is that for every year dead it costs a level in xp to do (so if dead 100 years you gotta be at least 101 to ress them)

Thanks.
Not only are female redheads frequently lovely but theirs is a loveliness that suggests both lust and danger, pleasure and violence, and is, therefore, to the male of the species virtually irresistible. Red O red were the tresses of the original femme fatale. Tom Robbins
