It is a little spoilerish in terms of the way the game *starts*, but it sounds pretty damn good, actually. There's no noteworthy spoilers beyond the starting town, and I think it's worth checking out.
In terms of gameplay (and without plot spoilers), this:
In Hardcore Mode youll experience hardship through New Vegas as everything in the game is heightened to intense realism. Your ammunition now adds weight, and youre forced to actually consume water regularly to avoid dehydration or death. Your healing after usage of the stimpak (health units) is now delayed, and to heal crippled limbs you need a high level in your medicine skill.
...sounds freaking AWESOME.
And so does this:
Reputation returns in this title after its absence in Fallout 3. Your availability of dialogue options are based on your reputation, karma and skill. So, this time around your skill has a substantial effect on your conversation choices. Your success in conversation depends on it, and isnt based on sheer chance like you saw in Fallout 3. Depending on whom you kill or befriend and what side you take the notoriety system will take note and some people will want you dead while others will seek to aid and pay tribute to you.
Seriously, this does very much sound like what Fallout 3 *should* have been. I'm very psyched.
