aTweaks has been updated to v3.70 This minor release adds a couple of new components and makes some minor adjustments to the existing content.

Here's the full list of changes:

  • Added the "PnP Fey creatures", "Revised Call Woodland Beings spell", "PnP Dimension Door" and "Make Death Ward protect against Vorpal Hits" components
  • The components "Give Shambling Mounds their proper soundset" and "Give Mariliths their Icewind Dale soundset" have been deprecated as a stand-alone components and are now included in the new "Distinctive creature soundsets" component
  • Dryads, Hamadryads, Nymphs, Sirines, Nereids and Succubi are now affected by the "Distinctive creature coloring" and "Distinctive creature soundsets" components
  • Hellcats are now properly immune to all mind-affecting spells and grant 5,000 XP when killed
  • The movement rate of several fiends was erroneously set too slow. Their speed now matches the given PnP rating
  • Due to a typo, several mephits and fiends that are immune to fire were also erroneously made immune to Cloudkill
  • Fiends of the same type will now coordinate their attacks better. When one fiend encounters an enemy, it will try to telepathically alert any nearby fiends of its type to the enemy's presence. The alerted fiends will then attempt to teleport to its location
  • Oozes, constructs, elementals, skeletal undead and incorporeal creatures are now immune to the Balors' vorpal hits
  • The intense flames which engulf a Balor's body will now burn through webs and any entangling vegetation. They will also repel insects and bat swarms
  • Improved the targeting routine of Imps and Quasits. Also, Quasits now use a Blast of Fear (30' radius) instead of the regular (cone shaped) Fear spell, as per PnP
  • Ka'rashur and Tahazzar should now go hostile a bit more reliably
  • Further optimized Mariliths' Cloudkill use
  • Summoned Balors can now finish off Trolls that have been knocked down by approaching them and triggering the Body Flames ability
  • The Pit Fiend summoned through the portal in the maze below Spellhold can no longer be attacked before the gating animation is complete
  • Restored the Pyrotechnics spell-like ability to Balors, Mariliths, Abishai, Cornugons and Pit Fiends

aTweaks has been updated to v3.71 This maintenance release updates the Russian, French and Italian translations and makes some minor adjustments to the existing content.

Here's the full list of changes:

  • Updated the French, Russian and Italian translations
  • Dryads and Hamadryads can now use their Dimension Door and Detect Pits and Snares abilities in all outdoor environments where at least a few trees are present, even if these areas are not flagged as forests in the ARE file
  • Slightly improved Pyrotechnics and Entangle targeting for summoned fiends/Hamadryads
  • Fiends now handle characters under a Resist Fear spell a bit better
  • Made some minor optimizations concerning the use of Death Gaze, Etherealness, Confusion, Teleport Without Error and Fiendish Gating
  • Pit Fiends will now use Improved Invisibility a bit more efficiently

aTweaks has been updated to v3.72 This maintenance release fixes some leftover issue and makes some minor adjustments to the existing content. Most notably, aTweaks is now partially compatible with SoA-only installs as well as the IWD-in-BG2 total conversion project.

Here's the full list of changes:
  • Sil, the Sirine leader at the Lighthouse map was erroneously getting her Shortbow removed by the "PnP Fey Creatures" component
  • Fixed a minor incompatibility with Spell Revisions where Death Knights would erroneously get the Nabassu avatar in case Distinctive Creature Coloring was installed without PnP Fiends
  • Slightly increased the priority of opening gates for certain fiends
  • Fixed an original game bug which caused a script loop in AR1500 (Spellhold Asylum outdoors). Among other things, this bug was preventing aTweaks' Sirines from spawning properly
  • Fixed some minor issues with PnP Color Spray
  • The animation of the portal in Sendai's chamber will no longer be altered by any variety of the "Use Icewind Dale's Dimension Door animation" component
  • The Balor in Suldanesselar and the Nabassu in Sendai's Lair were erroneously unaffected by the "PnP Fiends" component if SCSII's Improved Fiends was installed beforehand
  • The Detect Illusion ability of Mariliths and Radiant Mephits will no longer be triggered by items/spells which grant a non-removable blur effect (i.e. the Cloak of Displacement)
  • The saving throws of Mariliths were slightly better than they should have been. This has been corrected
  • Hellcats now have "Natural Invisibility" as a special defense
  • Death Spell no longer works on aTweaks' extraplanar creatures (mephits, fiends, elementals...etc.), as per PnP rules
  • Some Adamantine Golems were erroneously mis-colored by the "Distinctive Creature Coloring" component
  • Most of aTweaks' components can now be installed on SoA-only games
  • Made some compatibility adjustments to make it possible to install most of aTweaks' components on IWD-in-BG2
  • The "PnP Mephits" and "PnP Fiends" components now take into account creatures introduced by the Classic Adventures mod
  • aTweaks now uses ENGINE_IS to determine the type of your installation (i.e. BG2-SoA, ToB, BGT... etc.)
  • Corrected a few small typos in the fiend summoning spell descriptions

aTweaks has been updated to v3.80 This release introduces the "PnP Elementals" component which brings all elementals in the game closer to their PnP counterparts. In addition, a small new component has been added which converts aTweaks' default IWD/NWN-style spell icons into proper BG2-style icons (courtesy of Enkida). Lastly, creatures affected by aTweaks' AI can now open unlocked doors.

Here's the full list of changes:
  • Added the "PnP Elementals" component
  • Added the "BG2-style icons for aTweaks content" component (courtesy of Enkida)
  • Distinctive Creature Coloring now takes into account Aerial Servants, Air/Fire/Earth/Water Elementals (all sizes), Fire Salamanders and Salamander Nobles
  • Gelugons now use Wall of Ice instead of Ice Storm and have a special tail attack. They have also been given a proper soundset
  • PnP Fey creatures will now have Sil retain any weapon that has been assigned to her WEAPON1 slot except for SIRINE.ITM and SIRINE1.ITM
  • Scribed scrolls now stack with regular scrolls on Tutu
  • Color glow/pulse effects no longer disrupt the changes made by aTweaks' Distinctive Creature Coloring component
  • The Scribe Scrolls ability now takes into account Dimension Door scrolls added by Tutu, BGT, D0 Tweaks, Spell Revisions and aTweaks
  • aTweaks' extraplanar creatures are now properly immune to all Cause Wounds and Harm spells
  • Humanoid opponents and monsters with intelligence scores above 4 will now attempt to open unlocked doors
  • The Detect Invisibility ability of Pit Fiends and Erinyes is now always active
  • The Drain Life Bhaalpower no longer affects Mephits (as they are extraplanar creatures)
  • Sirines can no longer use their Touch of Tranquility while polymorphed

aTweaks has been updated to v3.81 This maintenance release fixes a critical bug which caused a crash to desktop when Cause Wound spells or Harm were used. A few other minor bugfixes are also included.

Here's the full list of changes:
  • Fixed a critical bug which was causing a crash to desktop when any Cause Wound spells or Harm were used
  • Fixed a file name error which was preventing the "Make alignment detection spells more accurate" component from installing if Spell Revisions was present
  • The Elder Fire Elemental shapechange form now correctly causes Burn on-hit with a -4 save penalty

aTweaks has been updated to v3.82 This maintenance release updates the French, Italian and Russian translations, improves compatibility with other mods which make changes to elementals and fixes a couple of small issues.

Here's the full list of changes:
  • It is now possible to disable the 3 round mental combat phase which arcane spellcasters go through when summoning elementals. A console command can toggle mental combat on/off: CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("RR#NOEMC","GLOBAL",1)
  • Elementals are no longer affected by the Flesh to Stone spell (creatures not made of flesh are not subject to that particular spell). They can still be petrified by other means
  • The Elemental shapeshift forms were erroneously missing immunities to sleep, stun and hold
  • Elementals are now properly immune to the Mind Flayers' "Devour Brain" attack
  • The "Make druidic shapeshifting uninterruptable" component will now make the natural weapons (claws) of the shapechange forms undispellable if TobEx is installed
  • The Know Alignment spell-like ability of the Elemental Princes was erroneously usable 1x/day instead of at will
  • Slightly improved Dispel/Remove Magic targeting for Elemental Princes and Balors
  • Friendly Elemental Princes now give slightly higher priority to enemy spellcasters when attacking and teleporting
  • Elemental Princes now take into account the innate spell immunities of Liches and Rakshasas
  • Air Elemental Whirlwind was using the wrong icon at level 20
  • As a beneficial spell, Wind Wall will now bypass a (Minor) Globe of Invulnerability when cast on friendly targets
  • The white coloring effect of the Etherealness ability once again properly works on Nabassus
  • PnP Fiends now replaces the Abishai and the Demon Knight in Sendai's lair with a Glabrezu and a Balor. It also prevents Mellisan from summoning Bone Fiends during the final battle. Both changes were made in order to avoid Blood War issues (Tanar'ri vs. Baatezu)
  • Balors and Glabrezus now use Remove Magic instead of Dispel Magic
  • As creatures of exceptional size and strength, Earth Elementals are now immune to Web and Entangle
  • Summoned Nymphs, Dryads and Hamadryads will no longer travel between areas while attempting to run away from enemies
  • If Spell Revisions is installed, Elementals summoned by arcane spellcasters now properly remain neutral until the Mental Combat is resolved
  • If not already present, Conjure Lesser Air/Earth/Fire Elemental scrolls are now added to the Sorcerous Sundries store on BGT and Tutu installations
  • Vithal, the imprisoned mage in the Underdark, now casts a few defensive spells before engaging the elemental portal guardians
  • Elementals and Fey creatures can no longer be targeted while being summoned (i.e. during the period when the summoning animation plays)
  • Summoned Elementals and Fey creatures can now be dismissed at will by selecting "Unsummon" from their special abilities menu
  • Updated the French, Italian and Russian translations

aTweaks has been updated to version 3.90 "Hopefully not the Duke Nukem Forever of aTweaks releases"
Until files in the SHS download manager are updated, the new version can be downloaded here.

This version include the much-delayed "PnP Undead" component, which aims to bestow upon the Undead the same honour that has been bestowed upon Fiends et al. It also updates the PnP Fiends component to include Shadow Fiends.

Full list of changes:
  • Added the "PnP Undead" component to the "PnP Tweaks" group.
  • Shadow Fiends are now affected by the "PnP Fiends" component.
  • Updated the Italian, French and Russian translations.
  • The component "Prevent skeletal undead from being affected by Illithids' Devour Brain attack" now also affects incorporeal undead.
  • Removed erroneous immunity to critical hits from several fiends.
  • Items that were supposed to grant immunity to spells of a custom secondary type now do so.
  • Yugoloth can open doors, same as everyone else.
  • Under the hood: made integrate_sectypes non-cumulative and optimised the function to mostly compensate for the extra work.
  • Under the hood: added regexp support to RR#MDCRE for enforcing and not enforcing creatures.
  • Under the hood: enabled detectable weapon enchantments of Detectable Spells.

aTweaks has been updated to version 3.91.
Until the files in the SHS download manager can be updated, the new version can be downloaded here.

This versions introduces a new member of the "simple script" series, this one being for Clerics and Paladins. It also features a number of bug and compatibility fixes.

Full list of changes:
  • Corrected some minor attributes on Shadow Fiends.
  • Resolved an incompatibility between "PnP Undead" and the Item Revisions mod.
  • Cleaned up a few compatibility issues between "PnP Undead" and the nabassu ghast from "PnP Fiends".
  • Resolved an incompatibility between "PnP Undead" and the "Creature & Area Improvements" component of the Quest Pack mod.
  • The "Cure Affliction" Bhaalpower can now properly remove the diseases introduced by "PnP Fiends" and "PnP Undead".
  • Added party AI script for Clerics/Paladins, written by aVENGER.
  • Resolved incompatibilities between "PnP Fiends" and the Big Picture mod.
  • Nereids will properly spawn on the lighthouse area in BG1.

aTweaks has been updated to version 4.00. It can be downloaded here.

This version introduces the "Unbiased quest rewards" component, which evens out the quest rewards of "evil" quest paths to be comparable to the rewards on the other quest path. It also makes a few other changes, one of which may be of interest to people who play "good" parties. A detailed summary of the changes is available in the readme. It addition to the new component, there are also a number of compatibility fixes between PnP Elementals and the Refinements mod.

Full list of changes:
  • Added the component "Unbiased quest rewards" to the "Gameplay Tweaks" group.
  • The effects of the toxic vapours exuded by Sirines polymorphed into Mustard Jellies now last for 2 rounds, as per PnP.
  • Optimised the attack behaviour of Sirines slightly.
  • Fixed a Tutu bug with undead lacking some of their immunities.
  • Fixed a bug with journal entries not getting updated on Tutu if the Death Knight died while his mirror fiend was still alive.
  • Resolved another incompatibility between "PnP Undead" and the Item Revisions mod.
  • Resolved incompatibility and integration problems between "PnP Elementals" and the Refinements mod.
  • Fixed a regression that broke the Boots of the Gargoyle if the component "Allow Breach to take down Stoneskin effects applied by items" was installed.

  • Fixed bugs with new the icons for Gate not always being used.

aTweaks 4.01 has been released. It can be downloaded here.

This version is mainly about translations. It features a Russian translation of the content introduced in version 4.00 (sorry about taking so long about getting it released) and a significantly updated Spanish translation, the latter thanks to Lisandro and William Imm.

Full list of changes:
  • Updated the Russian and Spanish translations.
  • Reverted the acid immunity of Glabrezu.
  • Corrected an oversight which could lead to Balors using two weapons without any skill in dual-wielding.

aTweaks 4.02 has been released.

This version fixes a few bugs. BGEE compatibility is not yet in.

Full list of changes:
  • Fix a broken assumption that could result in incompatibilities with Big Picture.
  • Fix a bug that had the Glabrezu grab inappropriately affecting some creature type it was not supposed to.
  • Fix a bug in the fourth subcomponent of the "Use Icewind Dale's Dimension Door animation" component that could, under certain circumstances, cause creatures to fail to appear.

aTweaks 4.03 has been released.
 
This version fixes a few bugs, including the reported ones about Davaeorn interacting badly with aTweaks' alterations to the Dimension Door spell and Magical Swords not being immune to everything they should be immune to. This version also makes some other changes to the Dimension Door components to make it all work a bit more smoothly. What might be notably different is that component 324 no longer uses a delay when creatures teleport in. The old way looked a bit wonky at times, and could occasionally be underperforming. The new teleport sequence looks pretty nifty, I think (I dare say the appearance of the Cowled Wizards outside Irenicus' dungeon is downright cool now).
 
Full list of changes:
  • If Ascension is installed, Magical Swords will no longer be missing many of their immunities.
  • Integration of new secondary types is more comprehensive. Notably, this means that Magical Swords are no longer susceptible to aTweaks' new diseases.
  • Bring harmony to the Dimension Door situation.

Version 4.10 of aTweaks has been released.
 
This version restores compatibility between aTweaks' fiends and SCS, which has been missing since version 22 of SCS. It also makes a few other fiend-related changes, including adding the option of turning off the plane-shifting some fiends do.
 
Full list of changes:
  • Resolve compatibility problems between the Fiend components and SCS.
  • Improve integration of aTweaks fiends into SCS.
  • Arcanaloths now have distinct claw and bite attacks.
  • If "Further Revised Fiend Summoning" is installed, enemy clerics will use a proper cleric version of Gate.
  • If the global variable "RR#FNOPL" is set to 1, fiends will not enter the Ethereal plane.

Version 4.20 of aTweaks has been released.

 

This version is tentatively compatible with BGII: EE. It also fixes a compatibility problem with romanceable Ajantis (which was totally aTweaks' fault).

Version 4.30 of aTweaks has been released.

This version updates DS and fixes a few bugs. Rejoice, everyone whose mod has suffered under the bootheel of old DS!

Full change log:
  • Move the main readme to the doc directory.
  • Update DS to a more recent version.
  • PnP Fiends updates Elminster's Ecologies: Appendix IIIa with accurate information.
  • Correct a bug that prevented inns from being recognised as such on BG: EE.
