Gah, some trouble again...

Installed the BWS-Mod on my notebook (for my underway D&D fix) and chose a custom tactics install.
I omitted most of the lesser NPCs and some questpacks.

Installed without a hitch, but My Mage is useless cannot read nor use Scrolls. Daggers and Slings appear red.

Really not looking forward to another reinstall.

But any hints what might be causing this!?

PS: Yea, I know this sounds too stupidly obvious and I'm sure you guys already thought about this thing before but still ...

I don't think it's stupid ! I think it's a good idea.

Lol I didn't mean to say that the idea was stupid but that the fact that it was kinda obvious that this feature should be present (ever since IA got into the BWP :P)

You've just got to port that part back from the beta (available since end of June).

The beta should've been stripped off its beta tag waaaaaay back :coolthumb: I knew you guys had prolly thought of this :D

A proper BWS update is really overdue non??

OK...
A new problem has imerged...
The game works and all, but I can't seem to dual class. I usually dual class Kensai and mage, but now when I start a new BGII game with a kensai, the dual class is grayed and I can't do it for some reason...

Any idea why that is?

Hi guys and gals. I have a problem. I have Windows 7 x64, have done everything that i should have before installing the Big World Setup (at least i think so).

When the Big World Setup (VBS) program has finished i start up the big world install.bat file and choose all settings, then i press enter for the installation to begin. Now what happens is i can barely make out the lines that are spammed and then the installer shuts down completely. What could be wrong?

It is like my CMD console does not recognize commands. What gives?

BiG World Debug.txt would help.
Try to pause the batch using [Ctrl]+[c] and tell us about the lines or add some pause-lines after the Call %INST%-lines to pause the install and enable further investigations.
If those tell you something wrong, try to replace @echo off with @echo on in the first line of BiG World Installpack\Install.bat. That would show you all "internals" of the process.

Well, the "25Movies.bif" file is in here: "\BGII - SoA\CD5\movies" so I would suggest that you move/copy-paste it there... it's only 96,894,976 bytes on your hard drive.

Hey guys,

I'm encountering an error with the BGII patch when I try to use the BiG World Setup. I successfully downloaded and extracted all the mods (going for "recommended" and "no foreign language" install), but when the BiG World Install.bat runs I start getting errors. The first was about the 25Movies file, which I corrected by copying the file in question to a dummy folder where the installer expected to find it (so it now exists in the default install location and in the location BiG World expects). No problems. Immediately after this, the installer claims that the BGII patch 26498 is not installed, even though I already installed it. So I quit, installed the patch again, and restarted. Still, the same error. Is there a way to point the BiG installer at the patch, or to manually install the patch? Any help will be appreciated, since I can't proceed until this is resolved. Thanks!

By the way, I am using the BG and BGII installs from GoG.com, if that helps you identify the file architecture.

I think the BWS checks for the file called BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt to check for the 24698 patch ... dunno but I can be wrong too :P

Tried making a dummy file with the name you mentioned and copied the information from ReadMe_addon_patch.txt with no success.

If you look at the BiG World Instll.bat, it's indeed
%IF% CD5\movies\25Movies.bif %IF% BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt GOTO :TOOLCHCK
, so it will continue if you got both files. Make sure you don't created BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt.txt. If you know everything is ok, just skip the test by editing line 290 from
GOTO :NOTEST
to
GOTO :TOOLCHCK
.

Hello,

Would anyone help me with a crash please? I've just started the game (via the first option "Baldur's Gate") and have yet to speak to Garion. The crash happens whenever I go to the world map (I've tried twice).

I heard about the Big World Project from this link: http://www.reddit.co...ldurs_gate_and/

I followed the directions and installed it. I'm on WindowsXP, I used the Recommended option and yes to everything (except foreign language mods) after that (I also disabled anti-virus during install). I'm using the CD version of the game (not GoG).

Here are the contents of my Baldur.err:

Edit the batch-file before it is starting to install the stuff or use the Beta to do that using a graphical interface which assists your approach in doing that.
When editing yourself, have a look at the readmes in the BiG World Installpack-folder and at the BWP guide (pdf).

There is somewhat a lot of that in the Mix Mod too, so make sure that the one changes you wish to last, are installed after everything relevant...

Just to clarify, the Big World installer installs everything correctly, and the game is playable. One of the mods that is installed has a lot of parts that you can configure, BG2 Tweak pack, when it installs this mod it auto selects some pre-selected parts, is there a way to go back and install some of the other components?

Yes, just run the setup-bg2_tweaks.exe and you then need to skip the already installed components. Take NOTE, that you have then the ability to brake the game horribly...
