quick question im using big world and my party which is lvl 1 are in Nashkel Mines and noticed kobolds gives no xp , commandos give some xp but normal kobolds give zero xp, is this normal?

What is normal and what is not is quite hard to say in the BiG World, but you should gain XPs from the 'normal kobolts', but many mods add other creatures to the tunnels, and some of them are moded all over so they could be faults, now it would tell use quite much more if you could make a more specific bug report(area number you gain from pushing the X key while on the area, the exact name of the creature, and the WeiDU.log's content), in a new thread.

You can edit the batch. ;)
Remove --force-install-list and the pipes like <5 or Type X | ... then go through the pdf to get the components that you like.
That should be all you have to do.

And no, I don't know when this will be released as a stable part of the BWS.

Hello, I have a little problem with using this tool. Every time I try to install mods with it this happens:
Posted Image
It gets stuck here forever, It goes ahead and start Creating a folder and try to copy that file before I get a chance to select 0 or 1. While it's stuck my computer becomes unresponsive and hangs for several seconds at a time until I quit. Quitting doesn't seem to do anything to make the game unplayable but I have noticed some graphical oddities. They might be the result of a mod (which I didnt select this time) but that's of little importance. I would like to know if this is the final stage of the installation and that all the mods I selected are installed before this whole biffing business.

Geez. Ok. You screwed up every time.
Just let it do it's work.
It searches through a few thousand files and biffs them into containers to improve performance.
You have to wait! 30 minutes to a few hours.

I would like to know if this is the final stage of the installation and that all the mods I selected are installed before this whole biffing business.

You can always remove the setup-generalized_biffing.exe from the game folder while the 'BiG World Install.bat' is installing all the other files(as removing the setup-*modname*.exe all you have to do to not install the said mod). Or you could use the BWS to not add the generalized biffing into the game folder in the first place, by first enabling the ~'Further Install options' or something very alike, and as that led to the mod selection screen, just disable the pre-selected Gen_Bif at the very end of the selection tree(well, there is 1 mod after that).

And yes, indeed dabus talks true, the mod was installing when you quited it, as the mod takes a lot of time to do it's job.

Hm alright though I waited about one and a half hours the first time and I assumed it stopped since it didn't update. I'll let it run again when I go to bed tonight.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Hello,

Firstly I am a newbie with the BigWorldSetup process (I hear the groans now) so please forgive me, I have searched on google and on here to no avail as to the solution to the problem.

I downloaded the latest BigWorldSetup.exe latest version from the MegaMod Download (8.2?) last night. I have cleanly followed all the instructions on BG install, and BG II install. I fire up the EXE, select  installation directories and Recommended install I have the following problem:

1)When connecting to the SHS forums it says it cannot find the archive, yet when I copy the exact link in to my Mozilla browser it pulls them down. This is all SHSForum modules, yet ones not in SHSForum it finds fine. Do I need to do something special for SHSForum mods? Like login etc?

2)The system is looking for BigWorldSetup and Fix modules with the prefix 8.2.7, now I have seen in some posts there are potential versions but the biggest I can find is 8.2.5 beta, I assume BigWorldSetup picks up a file list from somewhere (Somehow related to (1) ) above?

3)Bigworld setup then crashes when it starts to run, probably because it has not downloaded the modules.

Sorry if silly questions.
Thanks
Lug.

The link will probably just need update or something, the Team will do that probably soon...

The archive is named ...8.2.7, the .7 is the 7-zip's archive ending, like .rar is WinRAR's ... though it should be _v8.2.7z .

1) I tested the links right now and they are all up. So I don't know.
And what did you mean by connecting? What's happening? Are you doing a check or a download?
You don't need a login or something to get the files, btw.

2) The beta-fixes are used. They have a version-number of 8.2.5.

3) What do you mean by crash? Is it really a crash or is it closed properly with a message like I cannot continue with this or that?
If it did crash, you should have seen a dialog asking you to post a message at the forums or start debugging the error.
If it did not crash, have a look at BiG World Setup\Logs to see what was going on lately.

Hi Dabus,

On a work PC so do not have access to the log files otherwise I would put them up for you, so apologies.

This answers my main question about login, when I get home I'll try again and see if I get the same issue if I do I'll get you the log file. I have no firewall on my laptop and thought it strange it was only the SHSForum modules, yet when I pasted the URL from the logfile into Mozilla viola it downloaded the link.

I put this down to the fact half the files appear not to have downloaded if I get a repeat I will also post the files.

Sorry not more specific right now at work ;)

Hi all!

Just a quick question.

The manual (v8.2) says that Ascension 1.4.23 is bugged and you should use the one from Big Picture.

My question is how should I install the 'Tactic' version (with the automatic setup) so that it includes the Ascension mod from the Big Picture? If I remove this bugged Ascension mod (1.4.23) from the download/install list it will install the one from Big Picture? Because I really badly want this mod to be part of the install.

Or what should I do?

Thanks

Won't be used anyway:
0=Ascension v1.41 (requires ToB)

Will be used in tactics/expert:
1=Tougher Abazigal (optional, requires ToB)
2=Original Tougher Demogorgon (optional, requires ToB)
3=Tougher Gromnir (optional, requires ToB)
4=Tougher Illasera (optional, requires ToB)
5=Tougher Yaga-Shura (optional, requires ToB)

Ascension is available from BPv179 and will be installed in all cases if available:
15=Ascension for BP

A quick look in the batch-file could have answered your question. ;)

If the downloads from one website are not working, so the website makes a backup or is short down, because of website updates. In such cases, wait a little bit until the website is online again. This happens sometimes.

Greetings Leomar

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

BiG World Project - Big Baldur's Gate World

Hello all, first time post here. I just installed the BiG world project using the Standard settings. Needless to say that was quite a bit of mods and unknown number of hours as it started and 45 mins later I just went to bed and let it carry on. For the life of me I cannot find any kind of read me to let me know what I am to do after the install of the BiG World.
What I mean is that, they all installed according to the install window just fine...now how/where do I start a game from scratch. I want to play Baldur's Gate thru Tales of the Sword Coast and continue on in Baldur's Gate 2 and finish up with Throne of Bhaal and play all of the extra material within.

Did the install merge Baldur's Gate 1 with 2 so that BG1 is playable using the graphics engine of BG2? And do I start BG 1 with the Baldur's App icon in the BG folder? or did the BiG World put a starting App Icon somewhere? I noticed in the forums here the BiG World had a link to the different mods installed us BiG World according to what selection you chose, Standard, Expert, etc etc. With me choosing Standard, one of the mods was Baldur's Gate Trilogy. I guess it all boils down to how do I start BG1 and play all of the mods and finally ending up in Watchers Keep doing my thing to become a God?

Thanks for you time, I apologize for any confusion.

Matthew

:blink: :D

Seeing that you're doing a standard install, it'll take much longer since you have TDD (a huge quest mod) in your game :P Oh, and if it does blow up, (even though it shouldn't) don't forget to salvage your WeiDU.log and a zipped BiG World Debug.txt (from your BGII-SoA folder) for help :lol:

Cheers,

I'm new so be gentle. I did the BiG World Recommended install, and started playing BG I and everything seemed to be going fine. As I get further in to the game, it starts becoming REALLY unstable. If I go to Kalhid's inventory immediate Crash to Desktop. I went to the farmland with the Ankeg's to get Ajantis the Paladin, and the whole area is REALLY choppy. As soon as I leave that chunk everything is fine again. If I go into Ajantis' inventory, the game completely locks up and I have to trick it into letting me into windows so I can shut it down.

All I've done was run the automatic installer, I didn't unpackage anything... was I supposed to? I don't know any help would be appreciated.
