1. I have Baldur's Gate - Complete Edition (both games on one dvd) when i install BG II with ToB there is a problem. Big W Setup says that my instalation isn't full and 25movies.bif is missing. This file is not missing! I don't know what cause the error but i have to install English version of Baldur's Gate :/

Install the game to a folder which name is "BGII - SoA", and if you have Vista or W7, make sure you DO NOT install into the Program Files sub-folder, and make sure you patch it with the v(2.5.)26498 patch, then start the game and play it so game it autosaves, and the quit it and open the file called baldur.ini, there make sure that the [Alias] paths all point to the game directory, and the CD directories the game folder has... only the CD1 directory should be missing.

2. I cant download anything from weidu.org. This site is dead :/ This mean i cant have updated weidu :( <= and that is a critical problem!
if someone could put weidu-windows-2.18.zip on some site like rapidshare or megaupload or some ftp i would be thankful. (Solaufein mod would be really nice too :))

Here... I put the solafein mod into a .rar, cause I cannot upload a .exe file.

So I have spent hours reading the various post/FAQs to try and understand the right way load the BWP. I have cleanup my computer. Deleted old copies of Baldur's Gate 2 and ordered a DVD 4 pack which is arriving today. But I have to say that I am still a bit confused.

I have Windows 7 64 bit so I had already understood the above instructions.

I then planned on running the BWS in the standard version so I get most mods including wide screen which I really want. Not sure I am ready for tactical although I am experienced in other games. I am open to advice on that.

Is there any major steps I am missing?

And the main reason for this post do I need the updated weidu referenced above?

Thanks for the help.

Well, there was an error that the BWS made previously, as it updated the WeiDU.exes to v22100, which would have been fine, but as the v22100 has errors installing the BGT... but the lastest auto update the BWS downloads at the start corrects that... so if you start the BiG World Setup.vbs after the time you sended the post above, you should be fine, as it already had been fixed by then.
And no, you do not probably need to update anymore.

Funny how the more I post, the more I have to update the FAQs for the Megamod thread... :D :D :D :D :D

Is there any way to change mod settings, like widescreen, after installing with BWS?

You can, you just need to rerun the mod in question's WeiDU.exe(it's actually setup-*modname*.exe, like the setup-widescreen.exe on the Widescreen mod), just know that it will take some time to install as the WeiDU needs to uninstall all the other mods installed after the mod you wish to change and then reinstall them after, that will also make your saves have the the text bug, so you need to start a new game(not load the old saves).

Couple of things preventing me from proceeding:

Even though I did turn off Norton AntiVirus another part of the program must have been running and identified these two files as trojans:

kontwk_v2_2.rar
eldoth11.rar

More importantly all of the following would not extract:

The extraction of the following mod(s) failed:
Volcanic Armoury v1.4: The Mod itself (VolcanicArmoury1.4.rar)
Nikitalleria NPC (Nikita) v1.01: The Mod itself (Nikita101.rar)
Wikaede One-Day NPC v3.4: The Mod itself (wikaede_v34.rar)
Solestia NPC v1.2: The Mod itself (absolestia.zip)
Kari the Half-Kobold NPC (Beta) v1.3: The Mod itself (Kariv1-3b.rar)
Paladins of Faerun Kitpack v5: The Mod itself (PoF_Kitpack_V5.rar)
B!Tweaks v4: The Mod itself (b!tweak_lite-v4.exe)

Any suggestions?

Virus: WeiDU updates itself, so that pattern is often mistaken to be one of a virus.

Kari the Half-Kobold NPC (Beta) v1.3, Wikaede One-Day NPC v3.4, Volcanic Armoury v1.4: Mediafire files, download is not possible with BWS and links may have downloaded html-files which would have told you that the download failed. Solestia NPC v1.2, Paladins of Faerun Kitpack v5 and Nikitalleria NPC (Nikita) v1.01: Files are not online, so that should also be a bunch of html-files.

Try to use google, since some files were uploaded as content at the shsforums. So the first hit will lead you to a download. Search for the rest in a similar way.

B!Tweaks v4: Try to download and extract from here.

There are a few RARs I found that get detected as having a virus. Turn off your AV, download the RAR and manually extract everything EXCEPT the setup-<modname>.exe. Then just recreate the missing setup by copying weidu.exe to setup-<modname>.exe.

I was able to download and extract Volcanic Armoury amd B!Tweaks manually. The host site for Paladins of Faerun appears to have been taken down and I haven't been able to locate an alternate download location.

My install experience to-date:

1. I redid the install about three times because about 45 minutes (maybe less) into install it would stop. I finally read the screen and it basically said that the default file location for Baldur's Gate is c/program files/ etc... but if your location is different type it to the left below. So my first question is "is this what is suppose to happen?" While I can be faulted for not reading and pure stupidity in my defense the message before install is "see you in a few hours" so I had it in my head that I should not touch the install. Once I put in the correct path it continued on till completion.

2. As it was installing, a few hours in I noticed a bunch of error messages. Would someone be kind enough to review attached to tell me if the errors contained in are expected? If not, any suggestions.

Thanks for the help.

(By the way, thanks for the replies above. I decided to punt and simply excluded any mod that had a download or unpack issue. Now that I have at least been successful in getting through one install, I might consider try to add and do over)

1.: No. Are you using a Spanish installation? That would be an answer.
Could you give some more input?
a) Open BiG World Setup\Config\User.ini, Section [Options] and tell me the value of the BG1-key.
b) Edit BiG World Install.bat and tell me the value of line 2029. (Searching for %IFES%BGT%S%BGT%L%0 will get you there.)
THINK! - It's not illegal.

BG1=C:\BWP\BGII - SoA\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate

sorry, I did not have Notepad fully expanded and did not realize it was wrapping:

%IFES%BGT%S%BGT%L%0 --force-install 0 --args-list sp "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" | %M%

Ok. What's in line 1?

There should be something line cd /D "C:\BWP\BGII - SoA\Black Isle\BGII - SoA".
When that's missing - which may be the case here - please look at BiG World Setup\Logs\[TIMESTAMP\]BiG World Debug.txt. (The file may be in a sub-folder with a timestamp.) There should be a sentence like this:

The "BiG World Setup" was not able to adjust the selected "Baldur's Gate" path for the BGT installation or the adjustments for a BG2 only installation in the "BiG World Install.bat". The defaults will be used.

Maybe we can solve that issue then.
I'd create a small test-script that only reads the values and tries to adjust the BiG World Install.bat.

No, looks ok:

The "BiG World Setup" has adjusted the selected "Baldur's Gate"
path for the BGT installation or the adjustments for a BG2 only
installation.
The original "BiG World Install.bat" has been saved with the suffix
.bak.

The "BiG World Setup" has done its tasks.
If you exit the "BiG World Setup" the "BiG World Install.bat" will be
started.

I was a bit unclear about which file you were referencing about line #1.  In any case, I do not see it in either but have attached since they are small.

Trying to install the BWS. after setting it to standard I got 4 not compatible I choose the 4 I wish to use and start downloading. 3 error spring up:

sb something, wrong version than the current one online
The kali kobold thingy ... wrong version .. doesn't like the download site ask for MoongazesKari-v1.rar
Shed's Mods 1.03.exe mistake in the: it looks for 'Shed/'s Mods 1.03.exe' while the name is 'Shed_'s Mods 1.03.exe'

I download them but the good name in .. and the BWS just remove them from the list and start installing...

What I do?

But tx and great work on this project :)

"Well, the XP mod has problem with the new version of the WeiDU.exe would be my explanation... "

So as I noted above, I have up till now just removed any mod that seemed to cause issue; most did not seem to be significant loss.  However, the XP Mod seems to be important.  So since I am fairly new and really don't understand the dynamics of how things get done, is this something that once it has been reported will be corrected?  I should wait?  Reinstall without?

Thanks

I guess I found it. :wall:

While creating the test-file, adding messages and testing it, I just saw and reminded that I had added a search-function looking for BiG World Install.*.bat. This was made for versions back then which had a version-number in it's name. Since Leonardo decided to move some files into a sub-folder, the result that the BWS came up was not BiG World Install.bat but BiG World Installpack\BG1_check.bat.

So the adjustments were made for the wrong file.

I'll correct that and upload the fix so new installs won't be affected.

@Soul oWAR:
I messed up yesterdays BWS-update. Its URLs are pointing to beta-updates so the last stable updates have not been integrated. That may have been a reason why the latest BWS-program updates were not included on your PC. I ran a test on Shed's and the backslash now gets removed from the filename.

Eh, unpacking Shed's would have been enough.
Kari and the other mods formerly maintained by Moongaze are all on mediafire-servers and the BWS cannot emulate the clicking on the download-button. So you will have to download and unpack them anyway.

If anyone can tell me what's needed to unlock the file (by sending the HTTP-get-request / parsing the file), I could add this.
