My installation keeps freezing at a certain point. Ive installed both bg1 and bg2 and expansion completely. For the first part everything goes great when installing but then i get at this point:

And it just stays at that point. No errors or nothing.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Hey buddy, i'm not one of the big guys around, just a newcomer, but it seems to me that your installation was biffing stuff, which requires a lot of physical memory, at least 2GB. (Just to be clear, i'm not talking about RAM, but disk space used by the operational System to swap files etc... go to the control panel and search the sets for your your Operational System. *I don't know if it's XP, Vista, etc).

I'm unsure if that is the prob with your installation, because a system crash due to memory, would perhaps force your system to shutdown/reset.
Be sure that the install process was really frozen, because most of times it's still running, even if it doesn't look like.
You may also check the WeiDu log file, to find something.

hope it helps

Forget about my last answer, this is not about memory or anything related to that.
I have no ideia what it may be, but I remember I had a similar issue after WeiDu started to upgrade the instalation .exe for the mods.
The process just stoped, without errors or anything, system was functioning ok, etc. I don't remember weel so I don't know what can be done. Perhaps someone more experienced can post you an answer, sorry man =\.

Which operating system are you using? Try stopping all background programs and running the install again. Maybe also defragmenting the drive might help?

I have some news for you.
As I related before, that happened to me once, long time ago. I was trying to remember more about that, and as far as I can tell, that "ethernal pause" on the instaler occured to me after something about 10 min after start (to me), can't remeber for sure. By that time I had the impression that was related to some instalers updating themselves with WeiDu version, OR something unsatisfyed on the first run. I had a backup and deleted the :

bgmain
baldur.exe
chitin
baldurs.ini
override folder
data folder
dialog.tk
WeiDu (logfile)

I'm not sure but I think I deleted the .DEBUG files (generated by the previous attempt of WeiDu) too, or moved them to a separete folder just in case.

Pasted all the backed up on the place (it's fast..), reboot, and that was ok, it installed fine onthe second run.
I hope you can do it. If not, try to repeat a clean install process of BGII+TOB etc. I used to format the whole sh*t to be sure it is fresh >: ).

Be sure to have no CDs on your drives during the installation.
It's bad you couldn't install it yet, but all that experimental stuff is worth a try, because when it is installed you have a trully epic game. It's amazing to see all the efforts of modders, put together on BGT.

Don't give up
Wish you the best luck !
