Fulfilling Kido's quest isn't really something my PC would take part in. And the journal hinted that Kido's quest is time sensitive. I do want to keep Kido around to see how well I can use him.

So I decided to handle it this way: Kido wanders off on his own in the Docks district to fulfill his quest. He kills the pirest of Ilmater solo. PC then enters the temple. Dolf's issues Kido's next quest demand. PC decides he's heard enough and kills Dolf.

Will Kido remain with the party? At least right after this happened Kido had no reaction.

hm.. actually you seemed to have gotten a lucky break. Normally if you attack Dolf, Kido goes angry on you as well. Leaving the party and attacking you. However, if you kill him before the script has time to activates, he probably remains in the group. As this is not supposed to happen I never coded a reaction.
Perhaps I should include a line of a dead Dolf as well? After all, he does not have to many hitpoints...
As to answer the rest of your question, due to this lack of coding Kido will stay.
