What I mean it is the version that has been traified by the Big World Textpack is the one that I have problems with, not the untraified version.

Ahhh, o.k., I understand, now. We'll check this. Thanks.

@neutrowave
Open your cmd and go into the BGII directory.
Type there "weidu.exe Imoen2j.dlg" without the quotes.
Then a Imoen2j.d should be created in your BGII directory...

Truly usefull, .....tooked a while to make it, though....many mods, slow PC....:D

Thank you!

We don't know, why you have this problem and it is not easy to find out. But you can fix it for your installation:
  • Change in your decompiled Imoen2j.d "SetGlobil("CbOriginalPeopleInteract","AR1100",0)" to "SetGlobal("CbOriginalPeopleInteract","AR1100",0)" (without the quotes) and save
  • Open your cmd and go into the BGII directory (where your Imoen2j.d is)
  • Type there "weidu.exe Imoen2j.d" without the quotes
  • Then put the Imoen2j.dlg into your BGII override directory

Thank you Leomar and everyone who supports the members....this is probably a rare writing error 'cuz I checked "xpmod.debug" from another installation of a friend and no trace of this warning....glad it's not a serious matter and I learned some good debugging methods :P .

I just downlaoded the Stone of Askavar V1.4.Its Readme said: If you are installing for Darkside of the Sword Coast then I recommend you install that mod first.
In BWP6.0,the Stone of Askavar V1.3 is installed after Darkside of the Sword Coast.
Is it still OK for V1.4 to be installed after Darkside of the Sword Coast?

If that's a direct quote from the read me, then yes it's safe... Cause it says:

If you are installing for Darkside of the Sword Coast then I recommend you install that(Darkside of the Sword Coast) mod first(, so you can install the Stone of Askavar V1.4 after that).

I've got an update on TDD/BGT issue. The names in the scripts are being changed from XzarDD and MontyDD to Xzar and Montaron. As a result, Xzar/Montaron quest from TDD in the Docks area is not being triggered.

hi all.

Not a good sign. I cannot even get onto the train let alone shut the door for the trip!

when I place everything into the proper named bg2 folder and click on the Setup program, it unpacks and then as the checked section indicates that now the next step begins, the error messege comes up where it more or less says,
"cannot open/process/use error file", or something like that. this for the 2.01 version. I tried the 2.00 version too, same thing.

win 98se
althlon system.

as I had to immediately leave to go to the kitchen for my senior center volunteer work for supper, and i was late for that, even, the only thing that comes to mind, later, is that the error file is "read only", i will have to check this later when I leave the library. [who wants a $50+ phone and a $30 a month internet service provider, on a fixed disibility income?!
I use the libary down the street].
if this problem is not a read file problem, I wonder if i might better just give up and play simple games.

thanks, freestone

I know Leomar will update this but I want to mention personally that Konalan's Tweaks has been overhauled for full compatibility with BWP. Version 2 has been updated with component designation that should make it easier to install in BWP. This should be the last time you'll have to edit the .bat file (though it will likely be a major edit).

Hallo! I'm trying a tactic install with BWS. Downloading was fine, extracting was fine. But when the setup started, i think something gone terribly wrong. I report it here because i think it's about the setup bat (since BWS finds everything fine). Running the setup, it stops at the point [Weidu-Backup] Using scripting style "BG2". And then it does nothing. I've done some installs using the BWP setup bat in the past and I've never encountered any problems. So, do you have any idea what could it be?

I've tried it a second time ( restoring from backup files) and the same thing occurs. Here's the text from my install. Attached File  install.txt   10.3K   236 downloads I'd really appreciate any help! :D

The auto-update of the weidu-setup-files did not work.

Delete the setup-1pp.exe and replace it with a copy of weidu.exe.
If you got the widescreen-mod, also replace that file with a copy.

Where can I find these copies? (yes, i've got widescreen too)
Could you please tell me the complete names? They should be like setup-1pp.weidu.exe ?
Sorry for being an amateur with these thingys. :whistling:

...

All the setup-*modname*.exe's are WeiDU.exe(they are different versions, so their size changes a bit), just renamed so they take orders from the specific setup-*modname*.tp2 file. So you are searching for a file that's size is 508Kb exactly, not 3,909Kb cause those files are corrupted, and all the corrupted(wrong sized files) need to be re-updated with the 508Kb once.
...Or get the real original from this archive(warning, it's a direct download link) in which it's called WeiDU.exe.

Now, because the WeiDU.exe in the Widescreen mod v2.1 was mistakenly not properly encrypted, it's size became 8 times the intended one and so it can corrupt the other files and shut down the installation process exactly as it did on your system...

You create a copy by copy & paste the weidu.exe. :P
It should be in your bg2-directory.

And if you replace setup-1pp.exe, you call it setup-1pp.exe. Otherwise, it would not be a replacement, would it? ;) The other one will be called setup-widescreen.exe. If you can't see the .exe at the end of the filename, leave it out.

Most probably, that file too is corrupted to the size of 3,909Kb, and so it doesn't really help.

Ok, precisely the WeiDU\WeiDU.exe.
This file is downloaded by the BWS and should be the correct one.

Jarno thanks for your lore, it really helped me in understanding all this.
Dabus thanks for your help, I now got it about the replacement. BUT it's not working... It just stops on the very same point. :(

PS: Before I delete the old setup-1pp.exe i checked and it was 508Kb. While the old Widescreen was something like 3,909Kb as Jarno had guessed.
I downloaded all the files with BWS, so I have the correct Weidu. Btw, i just noticed there's also a setup-weidu.exe
I had used the weidu.exe for the copy, am i right?

PS2: from a quick view, most of the setup files are 508 but Setup-A6XPPatch is 437kb and the most weird, there's a Removed_SETUP-NPC_TWEAK.exe with 316KB. The removed is a bit weird or it's normal? Btw, the NPC tweak was the only one that i had to self extract because for some reason the BWS could't extract the exe. But i extracted it and all was fine. Or that's what i thought... Maybe i should delete the Removed_SETUP-NPC_TWEAK.exe ?

PS3: Should i track and replace all the setup files with different from 508kb size? But isn't the update supposed to happen by the installer?

PS4: Btw, i don't think my weidu is corrupted because both weidu.exe and setup-weidu.exe are 508kb

Yes. That's manual update, and you need to do that.

But isn't the update supposed to happen by the installer?

But the problem is that the one in the setup-widesceen.exe is identified as v210, so the program thinks it's the latest, while it kinda is but is not the one it should be, thus the weird error...

Sorry for the late reply but this install was soooooo long and i have to cut internet access. :D Yes that means that i managed to coplete it (success!).
It seems that: replacing the Setup-A6XPPatch.exe with the weidu and deleting the (leftover from BWS?) Removed_SETUP-NPC_TWEAK.exe solved my problem. I don't really know if the last one was a problem. It seems only the widescreen mod and Setup-A6XPPatch.exe were "corrupted" (with file size different from 508kb) . Is it something random that happens? Anyway, all is fine now and i've learned to manual updating weidu! Yey!
Thank you so much Dabus and Jarno!
