I was never happy with any of the other romances either in the game or from mods. The best one I had played up till this point was probably Saerileth (until we had some fairly major - but in character - philosophical differences). But something about Fade grabbed my interest and I decided to give the mod a try.
I was not dissapointed.
The first thing that struck me about Fade, was that she was fun. You had the option to just be silly with each other and have some fun, not take everything so seriously which was like a breath of fresh air.
Scondly, she seemed real. The writing was just brilliant. Fade felt like a real person. When the kidnapping occured I actually felt myself get upset, I was worried about my little hunnykitten. One scene/quest early on in particular just felt like something that could happen and the dialogue was very realistic.
Thirdly, she actually seems to like the PC with just enough of the mushy stuff (not so much that it becomes meaningless), most of the other romances can get quite nasty with you at times.
So, any downside?
well there was one bug where Mazzy and Fade got stuck into having the same conversation over and over again. By the time I hit ToB it became an almost continuous loop and I swapped Mazzy out for Sarevok. As much as I like mazzy, if it's between her and Fade, well it's no contest.
I wasn't a fan particularly of the portrait that came with the mod, but that was quite easy to change.
My only other gripe would be...I want more!!!
Can't wait for the ToB portion to be done and some more SoA content (though probably too much to ask for) would be great. I took quite a while about my game, did all of the quests etc (and flirted a lot along the way) so by the end things with Fade got pretty quiet.
So overall, that was probably the best mod I've ever played, certainly the best written. I just want to thank the creators of the mod very much for the enjoyment you've brought us all. Given that I couldn't think of playing another game without Fade, I have to give this mod a 10/10.
