When I enter High Hedge and approach a potential skeleton spawn the game crashes with the following error:

An Assertion failed in ChVidImage3d.cpp at line number 899.

I have the BGTTweak Altered spawns -> Deactivate BGT-WeiDU spawns: spawns appear once: 8 installed and wanted to know if this had anything to do with it. If so is there any way to undo it without having to redo my mod installations or starting a new game?

The problem is perhaps because you have the Item Revision mod but not the "Hot fixes" for it, as the bow wasn't marked as two handed weapon, and so the skeleton tries to put it with shield and the game crashes because it's invalid animation...
So get the Item Revisions "Hot fixes" and reinstall it again.

I have this same error, I'm entering the map from the bottom right and traveling north-west (it probably is a skeleton spawn, but it crashes before I see anything)

"chvidimage3d.cpp, line 899"

I've attached the WeiDU log, this is just a preliminary installation for me, so it'd be mighty awesome if we could resolve the cause of it. (Logging is enabled, but no log seems to have been saved)

PS. The gibberlings3 forums seem unavailable (and have been for days now), has anyone mirrored said information?

This is a good place to start :P

Well, try clearing out the temp, cache and tempsave folders in your BGII-SoA folder. It fixed it for this guy :D

Cheers,

Eradicating said folders does nothing to cure the problem - but then again those 'original' forums were meant for original installations. The suggested item revisions hotfix seems like a good start, but it's currently unattainable due to the forums being down.

Doing

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("skelets")

Will result in said crash, so it's indeed this hotfixed problem that I can't get fixed due to a lack of hotfix...

Here's a fix for this specific issue that can be used if you've installed IRv2 without the hotfix. It doesn't require reinstalling anything:

This BG2 Creature Inventory Checker seems like a great and useful tool :coolthumb:

Has it been included in some mod in the BWP?? If no, could it be used by the BWP, probably just before GenBiffing everything)??

I tried to use it (in my already biffed install) and it shows this error:
ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ.itm] not found in KEY file:
	[./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.
ERROR: [0XUDDG.CRE] -> [override/0XUDDG.CRE] Patching Failed (COPY) (Failure("resource [ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ.itm] not found for 'COPY'"))

What say you guys?? :P

Might you have the hotfix itself around also? And I appreciate the fast help!

I believe this is deprecated and a new version included in the G3 Debuggerer. But either one just checks stuff - they don't fix things. As with any automated tool, you'd have to investigate each "hit" and rule out false positives. Nythrun's Resource Fixer macros on the other hand do fix stuff, and are included in the BWP.

Edit: For the record, this particular assertion error (in ChVidImage3d.cpp at line number 899) seems to be animation-related to two-handed weapons. I got the same thing when giving my Battle Horrors crossbows and two-handed swords, and it wouldn't go away til I gave them bastard swords instead.

Sure thing. I've uploaded it here [Link has been removed as forums are back up, get newest version of the hotfixes here] - you should extract it to your BGT directory, overwriting the old v2 files, and then [re-]install the mod.

So, that's what the resource fixer v1 is

Thanks for the answer,
