I want to have a compact backup copy of BG1+TOSC to make installing further BGT versions easier.

I've look through the Setup-BGT.tp2 and PreSetup.bat and find out that there must be some folders:

Characters,
Data,
Movies,
Music,
Override,
scripts,
Sounds

and some files:

Baldur.ini
BGMain2.exe
Chitin.key
dialog.tlk

Could you check it, please?

And one more question.
Tell me please, do the BGT installer need any content of BG1 baldur.ini ? Have I change [Alias] (or any other) section of BG1 baldur.ini?

I usually install the game and then make a complete backup of the whole folder Baldur's Gate calling it Baldur's Gate Vanilla Patched...or something. I have three

1) original folder patched for BGT installs

2) Baldur's Gate Vanilla Backup (same as above just renamed for a backup)

3) Baldur's Gate Vanilla NOCD (cracked) for playing BG1 game with BG1 mods without needing a CD.

I even go further as to burn a DVD with the Baldur's Gate folder as a hard backup. Same as SoA/ToB. You have all of the correct files listed, I just do complete folder just in case. :new_thumbs:

Thanks, Hoppy.
I mean a minimum backup, but the full copy, sure, is not too much bigger. It's just such a scientific question, like a copying the files from CD1-CD6 directories into the BG1 folder.

I have to specify one thing.
Have I change [Alias] (or any other) section of BG1 baldur.ini if I change the drive or folder of the BG1 and try to make a new 'clear' BGT?

The baldur.ini I've got by now is

[Alias]
HD0:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD1:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD2:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD3:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD4:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD5:=f:\Games\BG1\
CD6:=f:\Games\BG1\

No, you don't need to touch baldur.ini.
