Hi guys,

I just wanted to inform you that a small issue with the "Expanded temple services" component of aTweaks v2.0 has been discovered.

In short, that component will work correctly on umodded BG2/ BGT and Tutu but, at the moment, I wouldn't recommend using it in a megamod install since it might corrupt temple stores from some older mods. I'll let you know when I manage to resolve this.

Cheers!

This is hopefully fixed in aTweaks v2.01. The code in the new version has been set up to detect mis-indexed stores and re-index them properly after patching.

If someone could test the "Expanded temple services" component on a megamod install (especially with older mods like The Darkest Day) I'd be much obliged.

I don't get a part of this tutorial;

1.9. Rogue ReBalancing by aVENGER v4.02
~SETUP-RR.TP2~
This mod re-balances the bards and thieves and gives them new abilities
In any case, Quest Pack should be installed before Rogue ReBalancing.
The "Summons/NPCs Set Off Traps" component of Ding0's Tweak Pack is conceptually incompatible
with the "Shadow Thief Improvements" component of Rogue ReBalancing as it will inadvertently
cause the Shadow Thief opponents to trigger their own traps. If you wish to use both of
these components at the same time then you must install "Summons/NPCs Set Off Traps" before
"Shadow Thief Improvements" so that the changes it introduces do not apply to the "Shadow
Thief Improvement"-areas.

So, install Quest Pack BEFORE step 1.9, instead of waiting til step 10.4? And then I read ahead, and it says;

ATTENTION: This Mod must be installed in three steps! The component General AI Improvements is
to be installed before SCS, the component Improved Oasis II is to be installed before Longer Road,
all the others after Kelsey

So, I have to install a part, go ahead with the steps, go back to the installer when the time comes, install it, and repeat? Sorry if these are noob questions, as this is my first time messing with BWP.

Quick QUestion (I think),

With thw BWP insalled I am working on BG 1 (and after Biffing my files it works great; thank you! ), I read somewhere that when I get to BG2 the NPC's that died perminently in BG1 will still be dead in BG2 is that correct? Do if Dynera dies and Edwin dies, and Jahera dies... will it just be Minsc Imoen and I starting in ol Jonny-Boy's clubhouse? Would Edwin be dead and no longer waiting for me in the docks?

There are a lot of NPC's added to both games BG1 and BG2 and I would like to experience most of them however I cant go through BG1 without Minc, and I would like Imoen to survice as well. I generaly dont like Dyneria (really cant figure out why) and khalied seems like he and Jahera should be with me for the story as well.

Can anyone shead any light on this please?

(Gotta get to work, I apologise for the spelling errors here I am going to be late)

Hello to the BWP team and great job on the megamod. I have a rather problematic situation here and hope you guys may be able to help out

You see, I have the recently released Forgotten Realms full pack which has BG1, ToTSC, BG2, and ToB in a single pack (along with PS:T and the IW series). Where BG and ToTSC have been bundled into 3 cds. After I installed BG, I found that it had already been patched to the 1.3.5521 version not 5512 as mentioned in the BWP guide. I found that this is the infamous ToTSC DirectX 8.0+ patch that shouldn't be used with the BWP :(

Is there any way I can use this with the BWP?? Any way I can revert back to 5512?? Plz help. I really wanna try out the BWP and its additions which sound very good going with the guide. :crying:

Edwin is resurrected, Imoen can't die permanently... Dynaheira and Khalid die in the move permanently, unless you have installed a mod that reverts that(one of the big mods resurrects Dynaheir)... now other mods also put some NPCs to the Irenicus Prison(example Branwen mod, NeJ puts Shar-Teel), and if you install the BGT Tweaks, it scatters the many NPCs around various places(no, I do not know where they are). And, Jaheira, well you better make sure she isn't chunked by a monster. This is of course what I know from previous short runs.

So, I have to install a part, go ahead with the steps, go back to the installer when the time comes, install it, and repeat? Sorry if these are noob questions, as this is my first time messing with BWP.

Basically yes, but when you use the Big World Installer.bat as you should, it does all the manual labor for you.

Ahh. I'm still sorta confused, do I install all the components of the Quest Pack, then the single Thief fix?
Also, I would be using the dat, but I didn't have the mods before hand.

4.1. The Darkest Day v.1.12
~SETUP-TDD.TP2~
This big mod adds 5 new major quests and more than 40 smaller quests, 10 NPCs, 39 new creatures,
75 kits and more than 180 items and more than 170 spells to SoA and ToB. To start the biggest
Quest in TDD, you must talk with Forp.
4.1.1. Copy the folder TDD and the files Setup-TDD.exe and Setup-TDD.tp2 into your main SoA directory.
4.1.2. One or more files of this mods must be changed. This will be done by the patch from the folder BiG
World Fixpack.

When exactly do I install the Fixpack? When the Darkest Day install is over?

Edit: If possible, can we take this to PM, to avoid me spamming? :]

In a way yes, but the game requires you to have the original TotSC cd(6), CD3 of the Original Saga, as the game checks for it when it's started. So, I do not know if the DVD version can simulate that, but you can try, but do that to a clear game as you can't unpatch the game.

Ahh. I'm still sorta confused, do I install all the components of the D0Tweak Pack, then the single Thief fix?

Well to tell you the truth, the BWP installs the component "Component 12 [Shadow Thief Improvements]?" at 22.6.2. Page - 108 -

Also, I would be using the dat, but I didn't have the mods before hand.

So... you just need to download them all and then start using the BWP installation pack, with a clear installation of the games and back ups etc. the .pdf says to have in page 1 to 14.

When exactly do I install the Fixpack? When the Darkest Day install is over?

Ahh, there is no true answer, as the BWP fixpack makes it's fixes during the installation process. But generally you get the most out of it when you install it before any other mods... but this way, it won't fix everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you'll have several extra bugs.

Edit: If possible, can we take this to PM, to avoid me spamming? :]

Well, I do not know everything.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I forgot to mention that although it has 3 cds, the installer doesn't make any mention of the "Original Saga" :( Even if it is the original saga, I found this in the BioWare forums.

BG/ToSC becomes version #5521 when u combine the ToSC patch #5512 with the DX8 patch. The DX8 patch is *only* meant to allow a person to play online, it has absolutely no effect or use in single player. So if a person doesn't plan to play online, the DX8 patch is redundant.

So will it make any difference whether I install the BWP on top of 5521 if it only affects multiplayer?? Otherwise, can I repatch 5521 with the 5512 installer and revert it back to 5512?? IIRC, only the BGmain.exe is patched by the Directx 8+ patch (aka 5521), so if I get a 5512 BGmain.exe from somewhere, will it do?? Sorry if I'm being too pushy ... But I'm desperate to see this through :(

So, will it make any difference whether I install the BWP into the BG2:ToB with the DVD BG1 v5521 modified into it by the BGT?

It shouldn't, take note of the change I made. :D
As the BWP is indeed BG2 mod combination, which uses BGT(-WeiDU) to include the BG1+TotSC part in it.
And the BGT can use either the 6 cd version or the 3 cd version, but I would try it first before going the whole BWP install, it's less work that way as you just have to uninstall the game 1 time(remember to remove the files after the uninstation).

Ok, I took no chances and tried repatching it to 5512 and ... IT WORKED!!! :woot:

Me game's now 1.3.5512 from the version number I see (both in-game and from the properties of the .exe). Just to be sure, I'd like someone more knowledgeable than me with regards to how I can confirm it to be the real 5512 other than through the version number.

Anyway thanx a lot Jarno for your replies and assurances

The DX8 update only affects the BGMain.exe file like you said, reverting to the BGMain.exe file from the 5512 update makes it completely legit, I had to do the same thing and it's perfectly fine.

Also I'd like to thank you guys for making BWP, I'm loving replaying these games with all the extra features, Great Job!

who_is_daniel, you can reach it after you finish cloackwood mine and pass the baldur's gate bridge and instead of going to the city you go north

Wrong info... :P
The right one:

the positions of Ulgoth's Beard (take the same exit as the entry into Baldur's Gate) and the zombie farm (can only be accessed on the west side of Wyrm's Crossing) have changed

Yea I meant to say the same thing, maybe I wasn't so clear... I mentioned cloackwood because after you finish it and enter chapter 5 you can enter Ulgoth's Beard.

Hello :)

Reading the BWP .pdf, i see that aside from the fixes and patches included inside the BWP Fixpack, there are some more within the BWP Install Pack. If i would want to use those fixes without running the install.bat and therefore install the BWP itself, what should i do? I don't find any tp2 there, just the .bats.

Thanks

b)
During the Installation some fixes and patches are required. All needed files (patches and fixes) areincluded in the folders BiG World Fixpack and BiG World Installpack which can be downloaded at the same site as these instructions
