Tragic as it is, one really should use the mods own hot fixes because they are all copy overwrite-mod files fixes, and there are still few bugs to shine off... not the BWPs fixpack to fix them.

Ohh, I forgot to describe how one must handle this hotfix. I've edited the updated news with this, now:

01.08. Spell Revisions v2.9

The new version included all fixes and therefore don't use these from the "BiG World Fixpack" anymore. To avoid this delete in the "BiG World Fixpack" folder the whole "spell_rev" folder.
For the new v2.9 you can get the official hotfix from here. After you extracted the mod into the BG2 directory extract the hotfix in the BG2 directory, too and overwrite the files.

Greetings Leomar

Hi,
I own polish version of Baldur's Gate I @ II (Baldur's Gate DVD Saga), which was patched during the installation and I have both patches required for BWP installation.
I made the blank readme_patch.txt file for BG I as You wrote and installer "sees" it, however, I don't know what to do to with my another problem. Installer says I don't have installed BG II patch, which i did as I said above and says to install it all the time.
What should I do to install BWP?

PS. Installer also wanted a file in BGII - SoA/C5/movies folder, however, my version doesn't have CD1,CD2,CD3 etc. folders due to DVD edition, so I made CD5/ folder in BGII - SoA/ and copied the movies folder from BGII - SoA/ there. Whas that a right thing?

Best Regards
Xert

That's fine then if you have done a full installation of all BG games and its expansions.

Installer says I don't have installed BG II patch, which i did as I said above and says to install it all the time.

When you're sure, that you have installed the BioWare patch v26498 you can make a blank BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt in your BG2 main directory.

This isn't installing at all. I have no idea what's going on. Half the mods fail due to errors and it can't seem to find any of the files even after saying it found them all fine in the first bit. I've tried everything. I know the install was fine because it said it found all the patches and files it needed - or at least, in the bit about missing files there weren't any files I needed for a complete install, which I took to mean I, you know, had a complete install. I can't get this thing to work at all.

Could you attach the BiGWorldDebug.txt from the game directory. I'll take a look.

PS: Make sure the game is fresh install before you start the BiG World Installer... to make sure the files aren't tried to be reinstalled.

As I have no receaved your reply yet, I'll throw in this advice also:
It could be that the WeiDU auto-update failed in many cases, so what you need to do is to is to manually update the WeiDU.exes in them.
This is done by first of all getting the latest WeiDU.exe from here(inside the Windows Binary .zip file). Then you need to copy the WeiDU.exe into the game folder and you might as well recopy it into the same folder again. Then you take the 'WeiDU - copy.exe' and rename it as one of the setup-*modname*.exe's and then start it(but do not install any mod components, as just quit it with Q), this should update all the other setup-*modname*.exe's, but some still may fail and they also need to be manually updated... So copy the WeiDU.exe again and paste it as manytimes as needed, and then rename them as them as the setup-modname.exe's(remember that you either need to rename the originals or just go a head and delete them).

PS: @Leomar&Leonardo Watson, the Indexing is a bit off on the English .pdf document... It goes like this:
I. In three steps to Success 1. 2. 3.
II. Main Part 1... 28.
III. Appendix F. G. H. I. J. (so you lost the A. B... E. to the I. part, and by the way, the beautiful pink letters in page 10 reffer themselves to the "I. In three steps to Success") :cheers:

I've had a rather odd occurrence. Starting a new game (from BG1), get through the death of Gorion etc, but when I try and leave the first area, I get the BG2 map, with nothing useful on it. How do I see the BG1 map?

Cheers

Hi there. A brief intro will be coming in a second or three, since this is my very first post on these forums =P, but for now suffice it to say I'm Sylvan, and I think I'm having a problem with the BiG World Project's download GUI. Specifically, when selecting which individual mods I'd like to download from the linklist many of the NPC mods have innapropriate descriptions.

For example, when I click on Tashia Remix (NPC) v1.1 I get the description "Chiara is a fighter with some special traits....."

Here are the NPC mods I am having trouble with
This mod is described as.........
Tashia ---> Chiara
Chloe ---> Drizzt mod (the one that summons Gwen with a 'K')
Kivan and Deheriana v8.1 ---> Chaotic good drow priestess of Ellistrae (Yasraena? Not sure)
Fade ---> Is correct, but is in the same chunk of mods in the list
Kido ---> Gozoloth (Goo)
Ariena ---> Skeleton NPC with its own kit (Starts with an H.....not sure though)
Kindrek ---> Kari
Kitanya ---> Kido
Neh'taniel ---> Kido
Silver Star ---> Male magic hating wizard slayer
Weimer's Valen ---> Mathis
Xan ---> Kitanya
Yasraena ---> Neh'taniel
Alora ---> Shar-teel
Auren Aseph ---> Silver STar? (Evil elven Assassin with crude dialogues)
The Undying ---> This is also correct
Kim ---> Xan
Tiax will not be compared to an old dwarven cleric of Lathander! Tiax will rule all!
Sarah ---> Azure
Hublepot the Vegetable merchant ---> Frennedan
Angelo ---> Alora
Miriam ---> Auren Aseph
Nikitalleria ---> Branwen
Touchstone ---> Callisto T'samen
Ninde ---> Elvish Magician thief (unsure, but not her)
Xulaye ---> Chaotic good human thief near the druids grove (unsure)
Kim ---> This one is correct
Haldamir ---> Bons? (You apparently meet him on the second floor of Irenicus' dungeon)

and those were all that I saw, all in one nice big chunk in the middle of the linklist. Naturally I've put my installation on hold, because I don't want to be putting in different NPCs than what I was looking for. I used the BiG World Setup v2.0.1, and updated it when I ran the program (via the green button in the top right corner of the GUI)

Oh, and while I'm here, I also wanted to note that if you run the backup function of the GUI twice it seems to clear out you BG II -SoA folder. I don't know if this is a known issue, but I was first using the v2.0.0 Setup, but when I found a new version after a few days of screwing around with my install I figured I'd restore it again just in case the old version had missed something, and poof, there went my game. I had to dig out my BG2 CDs and reinstall.

Okay, so, quick intro, for those who want to know, and a description of what I've been trying to do with the setup tool.

I've been playing Baldur's Gate since I was about 12, I think, and D&D before that. I have played and beaten BG, TotSC, SoA, and ToB many, many times, over many years, on several different machines. So, I'm pretty excited about getting my MegaMod to work, because I'm hoping it'll really breathe new life into one of my favorite games of all time, and I really appreciate the work you guys and all the modders have put into it.

My goal with this installation is to throw in as much new content as I possibly can, and alter the ruleset to more closely resemble 3.0/3.5 D&D (Arcane spell failure, armor penalties based on weight, etc.) with smarter enemy A.I. and better banters.

I've got a specific list of mods/components (separated by individual mods and rulesets) that I'd like to install, but not a WeiDi log. If I just uploaded a text file with a manual description of what I'd like to put in, maybe with reminders of what the components do, could someone look it over for me?

I've tried my best to look through what is and isn't compatible with what, but a LOT of the information I have found is painfully out of date (almost went with one sites recommendations for what to and not to install, till I saw that the last time it had been updated was 2004.

Let me know, and thanks in advance for your support! Not really the right place for it, but if anyone has anything for BG that they'd like more people to test, let me know! I've told several of my friends about this and several other modding communities because the possibilities this offers are very refreshing in a market that is saturated with crappy games.

Nice to meet you all!
-Sylvan

...

So you are using the BWS.
It's a known bug...

Please don't use the "BiG World Setup v2.0.1" anymore.
Here you can read why: http://www.shsforums...&...st&p=446028.

Oh! My apologies. I've found several different versions on my search through the forums, and some of the links dead-ended, I guess, or I just got confused. Thanks for the re-direct.

Edit, two minutes after posting: Hehe, yeah, I've been working on this install for the past week or so, that's probably why. I got a simplified version of it working, but I hadn't realized that allowing enemy mages in SCS to pre-buff before battle meant that I might run into a wizard with Minor Globe of Invulnerability, Mirror Image, Ghost Armor, Improved Invisibility, Shield, and a couple of other things (multiple times!). It was kind of rough for a party who's highest caster was a 5th level cleric >.< (Though they were ALL casters! It is very fun, I recommend it.)

So, this was just the new installation where only enemies who spawn in sight of me have that stuff. That's cool in my book, they knew I was coming :D
