Thanks, so for a noob multi vs. dual? If dual, which class should i be first + at what level should i change?

*piip*. For the second question, it totally depends on what you want to get out of it... more hit points? you take a few levels of Fighter/Ranger(only for a cleric, and in this case you'll get all the druid spells too)... Few clerical spells? Take a cleric/druid and then duel... ability to cast spells from scrolls? You take a mage and dual him at level 2( :D )... Hitpoints and bonus attack rate? Fighter/Ranger to level 7 or 13, as you'll get the bonus on those levels. ...

EDIT: Also, is there a XP cap remover for BG1, and will using it make the characters unable to be exported to BG2?

Yes there is, and you can export the char after. But now, if you are using... plain BG1? It's at 89 000... BG:TotSC it's at 161 000... BG2:SoA(or EasyTutu_SoA)? It's at 2 950 000... BG2:ToB or BGT? The cap is already on 8 000 000. And there are few of mods that remove the cap, but that only makes the chars be able to slowly growl to level 40/41, to get to level 50 which is the cap for all the IE games, you need the level cap removed/level 50 ruleset(BG2Tweaks, TDD, BP).

Deactivated account. The user today is known as The Imp.

Seriously: Fixpacks are mods, too (i.e. G3 fixpack for BG2), and it is GOOD to use them (even though some of the later "bugfixes" are questionable, as I didn't recognize some of the subjects as "bugs"). And tweak packs are fine, and biggs widescreen-mod is cool as well, if anything. Everything else really depends.

If you're getting the entire series I defienetly encourage you to play through it all with the same character. There are a variety of perks and niceties that only someone playing from the beginnin can have. A chance at the "Ultimate armor" in TOB, MUCH higher stats then is normally possible to have, and special abilities you can't get anywhere else.

As for mods, Ascension is probably the only one I'd bother installing before you first play through. It makes TOB be the way it was ment originally to be, but was cut due to time constatraints. Make sure to keep the Sword of Chaos +2, a certain person will be very grateful to have it back....trust me

AS for Characters. A Duel-classed Fighter/Cleric is extemely powerful. The first time i beat Baldur's Gate was with a Fighter/Cleric 6/8, as a solo character challenge. I was having trouble and read a short guide describing it, and decided to give it a try, was awesome.

Tutu is pretty nice, but it makes a solo challenge virtually impossible because getting charmed is the same as dying, unlike in regular BG. Other then that, it's pretty sweet. I did have slight issues with the way they grossly reduced thief skill xp, even though BG 2 had rules in place for 1-6 lvl thief skills already. But thats easily fixed and more personal preference.
