I've played Tactics,
IA and currently am playing SCS2.
The first one is a pure piece of cheese, though I never played without Imp Bodhi, Ritual, golems and Kuroisan (and maybe something else).
IA is even bigger piece of cheese, and somewhat smart (i think) as well.
SCS2 isn't a cheese but pure smarts.
I'm not entirely sure what's worse - cheese or brains. It's my understanding that most people prefer to keep initiative in their own hands instead of giving it to opponents. Cheese is barely nice and is rightfully considered as despicable. On the other hand, an enemy should resist player's attempts to kill them, not try to kill the player (and
SCS prefers to target low on
hp mages instead of tough fighters). Who in hell would want to cast Stoneskin and see an enemy immediately switch to a thief or priest?
My personal choice so far would be
SCS.
Be warned, you've opened quite the can of worms.
Seems like there's a good chance we'll get another "anvil discussion" thread, so lets not turn it away, shall we? It's been reather quiet last months.
